NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The New Orleans Pelicans say guard Jrue Holiday has been diagnosed with a lower abdominal strain that is expected to sideline him at least a week.The club says the injury was confirmed by an MRI on Thursday, a day after Holiday played 32 minutes and scored 16 points in New Orleans' 114-104 loss to Utah.Holiday has been the Pelicans' second-leading scorer this season, averaging 21.2 points to go with 7.7 assists, five rebounds and 1.6 steals per game in 67 games. Guard Ian Clark re-signed with the Golden State Warriors on Friday.Clark is returning on a guaranteed one-year deal, The Vertical reported.The 25-year-old is entering his fourth season after playing for three teams over his first three seasons. Clark has averaged 3.0 points in 119 games with the Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets and Warriors.Clark went undrafted and made his debut in the 2013-14 season with the Jazz. He was waived by Utah on March 26, 2015, but was claimed by Denver two days later.After a brief seven-game stay with the Nuggets, Clark signed a one-year deal with the Warriors last season, when he averaged a career-high 3.6 points on 44.1 percent shooting over 66 games.He also had a career year from three-point range, shooting 35.7 percent.

Clark agreed to a deal with the Warriors, Shams Charania of RealGM reports.

Clark spent last season with the Jazz and Nuggets, and he averaged 6.4 minutes per game over 30 contests. During the Las Vegas Summer Leauge, he scored 13.4 points per game for the Nuggets. Clark figures to be a training camp body who'll spend time in the D-League if he sticks with the organization.

Clark participated with the Nuggets' summer league squad and averaged 13.4 points, 3.4 assists, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 2.4 three-pointers in 26 minutes per game.

Clark competed in seven games with the Nuggets last season after being claimed on waivers, but he isn't under contract this season. Coach Mike Malone raved about Clark's defense and abilities to make the right play during his five-game summer league work. The third-year guard could receive a training camp invite based on his summer league performance, but it'll be difficult to crack the Nuggets rotation, especially since they already have 16 players under contract.

Clark was claimed off waivers by the Nuggets on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Clark was waived by the Jazz on Thursday, but didn't have to wait long to join another NBA club. The second-year guard out of Belmont was seeing very limited time on the floor with Utah, averaging seven minutes per game in 23 appearances. He likely won't see much of an uptick in minutes with Denver this season, however, with Randy Foye and Gary Harris ahead of him on the depth chart.

Clark was waived by the Jazz on Thursday.

Clark appeared in 23 games as a member of the Jazz this season, averaging 1.9 points in seven minutes. In seven games with D-League Idaho, he averaged 14 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 32 minutes, but will now look elsewhere for an opportunity to contribute.

Clark was assigned to the Idaho Stampede of the D-League on Tuesday, Jody Genessy of the Deseret News reports.

Clark will make his first appearance in the D-League this season when Idaho takes on Rio Grande Valley on Friday. Clark has appeared in 22 games for the Jazz, averaging 1.9 points in 6.7 minutes.

Clark is averaging just seven minutes on the court over 21 games this season.

Clark is an afterthought in Utah as it seems clear over halfway through the season that the second-year player is not in coach Quin Snyder's rotation. Barring the unforeseen, the pride of Belmont will stay on the bench more often than not for the rest of the 2014-15 campaign.

Clark has only been inserted into 18 games this season.

Even with the season-ending injury to Alec Burks (shoulder), Clark is still stuck on the pine and there's no reason to believe that will change over the remainder of the season. Unless something happens to Dante Exum or Trey Burke, expect Clark's humdrum value to persist.

Clark has only played in 16 games for the Jazz this season.

Clark is one of the last options off the bench for coach Quin Snyder and that trend won't likely change unless a couple of guards suffer injuries in Utah. The season-ending injury to Alec Burks (shoulder) did bump Clark's activity on the court a smidgen, although second-year player still rarely sees playing time even as it stands.

Clark played a season-high 21 minutes against the Hawks on Friday and was able to contribute five points, two rebounds, and four assists in the losing effort.

Clark was sent into action Friday after a wave of injuries fell upon Utah. The sparsely used shooting guard is likely in store for significant minutes on the court in the short term as a result. That being said, he's never proven to be a productive player when given large amounts of minutes so it might be wishful thinking to expect much out of Clark.

Clark has made just 10 appearances on the season and is averaging 5.3 minutes per game.

Clark is currently buried on the depth chart with little hope that he'll move up the ranks at any point this season. Unless injuries sweep over Utah, Clark can be passed over in virtually every depth of league.

Clark is averaging just 6.1 minutes on the court during eight appearances this season.

The 23-year-old only saw action in 23 games last season and there's no reason to believe he'll surpass that number during the 2014-15 campaign.

Clark came off the bench against the Thunder on Tuesday for 13 minutes of action.

Clark faces an uphill battle this season as he's buried on the depth chart behind the likes of Trey Burke, Dante Exum, and Alec Burks. Unless things go array in Utah, Clark should only be an option in the very deepest of leagues that can withstand having a player on their roster that may go extended periods of time without registering any time on the court.

Clark (ankle) is expected to make his preseason debut Monday, Aaron Falk of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Clark was slated to return last week Thursday, but ended up being held out of action as he continued to battle a sprained ankle. With a few more days of rest under his belt, expect to see Clark on the floor versus the Clippers.
