OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma City Thunder have waived four players ahead of their season opener Tuesday at Golden State.The team waived guard Abdul Gaddy, forward Donte Grantham, guard Scotty Hopson, and forward Dez Wells. The Thunder made the announcement in a news release Friday.Gaddy played in all four preseason games and averaged 1.0 point, 1.8 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 6.6 minutes per contest. Hopson was recently dealt to Sacramento in a package that sent veteran Jason Terry to Houston in return. However, with Hopson not factoring into the Kings' plans for this season, the swingman has been released and will now explore his options for this fall. |

Hopson was dealt from the Cavaliers to the Hornets to the Pelicans within the span of two days, and he's likely heading to the Rockets as part of Sunday's complex sign-and-trade frenzy centered around Trevor Ariza and Omer Asik. Hopson is merely a throw-in to make the deals work financially, and he's unlikely to make a dent in New Orleans, Houston or anywhere else this season. |
