Heckathorn was released by the Brewers on Wednesday.

Heckathorn was a first-round draft pick for the Brewers in 2009, but had underwhelming production, culminating in the 2014 season in which he posted a 5.70 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 47.1 innings at Triple-A Nashville.
