On March 5, he scored 23 on 8-of-16 shooting in a 14-point loss at Minnesota, but he has not followed it up with productivity. In his past three games, Brown is shooting 6-for-20, and the Nets have been outscored by 34 points when he has been in the court in those games.

The injury could sideline Brown for a few days, but unless the Nets paint a more serious picture regarding the ailment, the guard should be ready to go for the start of the regular season. Even with Deron Williams moving over to Dallas this offseason, Brown still finds himself as the low man on the Nets' depth chart at point guard. Jarrett Jack is expected to start at the position while Shane Larkin serves as his top backup, leaving no room for Brown to assume a significant portion of minutes.

Brown is ready for an expanded role in the rotation following Alan Anderson's departure to the Wizards, Roderick Boone of Newsday reports.

Brown must still compete with Bojan Bogdanovic and rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson for minutes, but if Joe Johnson is shipped to the Cavaliers as rumors indicate, Brown must improve his offensive game in order to become a viable fantasy asset. He started 29 of the final 30 games last season, but he only averaged 22.9 minutes per game and ceded much of his playing time to Bogdanovic and Anderson. Through three summer league contests, Brown has shot 7-of-27 from the floor, a inauspicious sign.

Brown appeared in 47 games in 2014-15, making 29 starts and averaging 4.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 16.6 minutes per game.

The 44th pick in the 2014 draft, Brown was glued to the bench to start the season, appearing in only one of the Nets' first 17 games. His role remained stagnant through the first half of the season, as he dealt with a couple of minor injuries and spent time in the D-League. However, he got his chance in late-February, when Bojan Bogdanovic was out with an ankle injury. Brown played 45 minutes in a win over the Nuggets on Feb. 23, putting up 10 points and 11 rebounds to go with a pair of assists and four steals. Bogdanovic returned to the lineup a few games later, but the Nets found themselves without Mirza Teletovic, so Brown remained a consistent rotational player for the rest of the regular season. The Oklahoma State product is an elite athlete and strong defender, but he struggled on the offensive end, shooting just 39.2 percent from the floor in March (20.6 minutes per game) and 30.9 percent (23.4 minutes) in April. Brown started Game 1 of the Nets' first-round series with the Hawks but played just six minutes. He was a DNP-CD for the next four contests before logging five minutes in the Game 6, season-ending, blowout loss. Brown will enter Year 2 of his rookie deal next season and figures to compete for a rotational spot, though it's unlikely he'll begin the year as a starter.

Brown did not see the court Saturday in the Nets' Game 3 win over the Hawks. He was a coach's decison-did not play for a second straight game.

Brown was the Nets' starting shooting guard down the stretch of the regular season and started Game 1 before being replaced in the starting lineup by Bojan Bogdanovic beginning with Game 2. The Nets are using a tight four-guard rotation right now, and it's unlikely Brown will be able to crack it without one of the current rotation guys (Deron Williams, Bogdanovic, Jarrett Jack, Alan Anderson) getting injured.

Brown's minutes finally came back down after playing 30 minutes or more in the past three games, and his production level came down with it. Jarrett Jack and Bojan Bogdanovic both seemed to cut into his playing time on Saturday, leaving Brown as a borderline fantasy option at best in deeper leagues. Fantasy owners can safely leave him on the wire.

Brown scored 10 points (4-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with 11 rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals in 45 minutes during Monday's win over the Nuggets.

It's easily his best performance in the NBA to date. He had just one block coming into the game, but Brown certainly has the wingspan and athleticism to provide a KJ McDaniels-like boost in that category if the Nets decide to give him some run down the stretch. Keep a close eye on his usage over the next couple of games.

Brown is an athletic freak, but is relatively inexperienced in the NBA. In his last game he had nine points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 15 minutes. He should be viewed as a high-upside, high-risk option in daily leagues Monday.
