Thu Mar 715:51Julius Randle Only Taking “Light Contact”
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (shoulder) is still working with pads but has progressed to "light contact." Randle is not close to returning to the floor for the Knicks as he continues to recover from a dislocated right shoulder, so fantasy managers should not be relying on the All-Star forward for the fantasy playoffs. Josh Hart is on the path to being a league-winning fantasy asset, piling up 12.9 points, 10.8 boards, 5.9 assists, 1.6 treys, and 1.1 steals in 40.6 minutes per game through his last 16 showings. Especially in points leagues due to his dodgy free-throw shooting, Hart should be treated as a top-50 option for however long Randle stays off the court.

Sat Feb 2420:18Julius Randle Would Play Through Pain
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, speaking on NBA Countdown, New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (shoulder) hasn't ruled out surgery. However, Wojnarowski added that while the situation is still "fluid," Randle would play through "pain and discomfort" and postpone any necessary surgery until the offseason. Of course, a surgical procedure may be required, regardless of his willingness to suit up. But the latest update at least gives fantasy managers some optimism regarding Randle's potential return to the floor at some point during the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign. In the meantime, Precious Achiuwa and Bojan Bogdanovic should continue to see more work moving forward.

Wed Feb 2116:14Julius Randle Doesn't Rule Out Surgery
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (shoulder) reported he's "doing everything he can" to return to the floor this season. Unfortunately, he didn't rule out surgery. The 29-year-old has been out of the lineup for nearly a month because of a shoulder injury. Although the Knicks remain optimistic regarding a potential return, fantasy managers should acknowledge the chance he may not be back for the rest of the 2023-24 campaign. Randle had averaged 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 46 games before going down, so replacing that kind of production won't be easy. However, Precious Achiuwa and Isaiah Hartenstein (Achilles) should continue to benefit until Randle is back in the lineup.

Sat Feb 1716:24Knicks Optimistic Julius Randle WIl Return This Season
According to SNY's Ian Begley, the Knicks remain optimistic that forward Julius Randle (shoulder) will be back at some point this season. The 29-year-old suffered a left shoulder injury during the January 27 matchup with the Miami Heat. He's making good progress in rehab. But Begley noted that the Knicks "aren't out of the woods just yet." As expected, Randle was having a quality year before going down with the injury. He averaged 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 46 regular season games. Although his production was down from last season, he remains a potent fantasy contributor. Nevertheless, fantasy managers should hang tight and hope for a positive update. However, until the 2014 No. 7 overall pick returns, Isaiah Hartenstein (Achilles) and Precious Achiuwa should continue to hold things down underneath the basket.

Thu Feb 119:16Knicks Will Re-Evaluate Julius Randle In 2-3 Weeks
The New York Knicks announced on Thursday that forward Julius Randle (shoulder) will be re-evaluated some time between the next two and three weeks. This falls in line with the initial expectation that Randle's absence will be measured in weeks and not months after he dislocated his right shoulder on an awkward landing late in Saturday's victory over the Miami Heat. Fantasy managers can now expect to be without the points-league superstar until after the All-Star break, and it's a buzzkill to the scorching-hot Knicks. After achieving his first career triple-double during Tuesday's win over the Utah Jazz, Josh Hart needs to be rostered across the board for his ability to stuff the stat sheet. Precious Achiuwa has started consecutive outings for New York and is worth a look in deeper formats, but he is more than likely just filling in for OG Anunoby (elbow).

Mon Jan 2915:05Knicks Expect Julius Randle To Miss Multiple Weeks
As testing continues on New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (shoulder), indications are optimistic that his absence will be measured in weeks and not months. Randle was doubled over after dislocating his right shoulder on an awkward fall late in Saturday's win over the Miami Heat, heading straight to the locker room in visible pain. While the 29-year-old All-Star's multi-week absence is a big blow to one of the hottest teams in basketball the Knicks are 12-2 since the calendar flipped to 2024 New York has to be relieved that it's not a worst-case scenario. Fellow All-Star Jalen Brunson will lead the offense in the Big Apple for however long his running mate is down. Josh Hart should be added in most fantasy leagues as the most likely candidate to replace Randle in the starting lineup until the All-Star Break or so, and Precious Achiuwa as well as Quentin Grimes should see more minutes off the bench.

Sun Jan 2820:10Julius Randle Out On Monday With Dislocated Shoulder
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (shoulder) suffered a dislocated right shoulder and has been ruled out for the game against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday. According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, the MRI results still haven't come back to determine any ligament damage. Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the X-rays didn't show much in terms of bone damage though. Whether or not he'll have to miss extended time will come down to what they see on the MRI. In the meantime, Josh Hart will likely see a big bump in minutes while Precious Achiuwa and Jericho Sims will also see some added minutes off of the bench. Hart would be the better streaming option since he'll be the most likely to get consistent opportunities.

Fri Jan 1210:17Julius Randle Posts 30-Point Game In Loss
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle posted the highest scoring total for the team and did everything he could to squeak out a win, but ultimately fell short. In the four-point loss, Randle finished with 32 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals, and four turnovers. He shot 12-for-23 from the floor, 2-for-7 from deep, and 6-for-7 from the free throw line. This was his seventh 30-point game of the season and his eighth with 30 or more. Interestingly enough, the Knicks are 4-4 when Randle scores at least 30 points. For those fantasy managers who have Randle in category leagues, he's producing top-50 value as long as the team doesn't depend on low turnover totals. He's been a force for the Knicks this season and it's been great to see him bounce back from some tough times in New York.

Fri Dec 1 202315:18Julius Randle Tagged As Questionable On Friday
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (knee) has popped up on the injury report as he's dealing with right knee inflammation. The fact that he appeared on the injury report in the afternoon of game day isn't a great sign for his prospects to play against the Toronto Raptors. If Randle is unable to play, Josh Hart would likely move up into the starting five to create a smaller lineup. Isaiah Hartenstein will probably see some added minutes off of the bench as well.

Thu Nov 16 202309:43Julius Randle Shines In Wednesday's Win
New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle put in an outstanding performance against the Hawks on Wednesday, scoring a season-high 29 points and picking up 10 rebounds with eight assists and one steal. Randle was feeling it right from the off, putting up 14 points in the first quarter. He slowed down a bit after that, but Randle still played a key role in a sweet 116-114 road victory. He finished with 12-for-24 shooting from the field and was 3-for-5 with the three-ball, which must have been a very pleasant sight for fantasy managers who have seen Randle crush their field-goal percentage so far this season. Randle has struggled to shoot efficiently, but he now boasts five consecutive games with 20-plus points, and scoring should come easily again for him Friday against the miserable Wizards.

Mon Sep 25 202321:36Julius Randle Should Be Ready For Training Camp
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (ankle) was forced to undergo surgery after suffering an injury during the first-round series of the playoffs. Luckily, it sounds like Randle is progressing well from his ankle surgery. Head coach Tom Thibodeau said that Randle will be fresh and ready to go at the beginning of training camp. That's good to hear after Randle played 77 games last season and earned himself his second All-Star appearance. Randle was a top 75 fantasy player last season, so fantasy managers should expect similar production this upcoming season.

Tue Aug 1 202307:32Biggest Moves of the 2023 NBA Offseason - Fred VanVleet, Jordan Poole, Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal
It's a crazy time of year around the National Basketball Association. Not long after the Denver Nuggets captured the franchise's first championship, French big manVictor Wembanyama was the top pick of the 2023 Draft. While new talent entering the league is all well and good, nothing turns the NBA upside down quite like the beginning of free agency. Since June 30, many notable players have signed with new teams. There were also more than a few significant trades. In either case, at least a handful of clubs will look very different (for the better?) come training camp. Let's take a look at some of the biggest names on the move and how they might affect the NBA landscape this season.

Fred VanVleet - Houston Rockets

The Rockets entered the 2022-23 campaign as the second-youngest team in the National Basketball Association, and it showed. The club finished with 22 wins and 60 losses, with the Pistons being the only team with a worse record. As a result, the front office made a point to shake things up after the exhaustingly long year came to a close. The overhaul began when Stephen Silas, winning just 59 of his 236 games in Houston, was relieved of his head coaching duties. In his place, Ime Udoka, who helped guide the Celtics to an NBA Finals appearance in his first season, took the reigns. While Udoka's tenure in Boston didn't end on a positive note, he's still regarded as one of the sharpest minds in the league, even by those who lost respect for him on a personal level.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1650612243661242369?s=20While having a knowledgeable head coach will help accelerate the growth of an up-and-coming squad, the Rockets needed someone to facilitate things on the floor. With Houston having plenty of cap space entering the offseason, the team signed ... [More]
Sat Jun 3 202310:59Julius Randle Has Ankle Surgery
New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle, the team announced on Saturday. Randle hurt his left ankle near the end of the regular season, missing the final five games, and also tweaked it in the first-round playoff series against Cleveland. The two-time All-Star will be able to resume basketball activities later this summer and is expected to be fully recovered for the start of the 2023-24 season. Randle completed his fourth season in New York averaging a career-high 25.1 points with 10.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists.

Thu May 25 202319:51Knicks Give Praise To Julius Randle
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle has been a big reason why the Knicks had so much success this past season. The 28-year-old averaged 25.1 points, 10 rebounds, and 4.1 assists through 77 games. The Knicks front office recently praised Randle for his toughness and ability to stay on the court. Randle has played 71 games or more in each of the last three games. He has been an All-Star in two of those three campaigns. The Knicks are certainly happy with what they've been getting from Randle. Luckily for them, Randle is still under contract for the next few seasons.

Tue May 9 202309:28Julius Randle Gets Going In Game 4 Loss
New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle finally had an efficient scoring performance in the 2023 playoffs Monday, hitting 8-for-13 from the field en route to 20 points in a 109-101 loss to Miami. He finished 1-for-4 from downtown and 3-for-5 at the charity stripe, so there was still room for improvement, but Randle had previously shot only 34 percent for the postseason and badly needed a game like this. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to complete it, as Randle picked up his sixth foul with three minutes to go in the game. He was one rebound shy of a double-double and also posted three assists with six turnovers in 39 minutes. Randle will need to stay clear of foul trouble and turnovers in Wednesday's Game 5 for the Knicks to get another trip to Miami.

Sat May 6 202319:24Julius Randle Struggles In Game 3
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle had a double-double in the Game 3 loss to Miami. While he amassed 14 rebounds, he struggled elsewhere, scoring just 10 points and going 0-for-5 from deep while adding a game-high four turnovers. The 28-year-old is likely dealing with the residual effects of his nagging ankle injury, so DFS managers will be taking a risk by putting him in the lineup for Game 4 on Monday night.

Tue May 2 202322:11Julius Randle Finishes Shy Of Triple-Double In Game 2
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (ankle) managed to suit up for the Game 2 win over the Miami Heat. The 28-year-old had carried a questionable tag heading into this one after sitting out Game 1 because of right ankle soreness. He looked good, finishing just shy of a triple-double in 38 minutes. With the series knotted, both teams will head to Miami for Game 3 on Saturday. Randle may carry an injury designation but should be good to go, assuming he didn't overdo it on Tuesday. But if he's on the floor, he should draw serious consideration from DFS managers, especially if Jimmy Butler (ankle) doesn't play.

Tue May 2 202319:06Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle Both Available Tuesday
New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) and forward/center Julius Randle (ankle) are both available to play Game 2 against the Miami Heat on Tuesday. Randle will make his return after missing Game 1 while Brunson was questionable after dealing with some general soreness. Their availability could not have come at a better time with Miami taking Game 1 and Jimmy Butler (ankle) listed as out for Tuesday night. Obi Toppin will likely head to the bench with Randle back in the lineup.

Mon May 1 202319:32Julius Randle Considered Questionable For Game 2
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (ankle) is listed as questionable for Game 2 against the Miami Heat on Tuesday. Randle has been dealing with a sprained left ankle, which forced him to miss Game 1 on Sunday. His absence would obviously hurt as the team is already down 1-0 in this series. Obi Toppin would be asked to move into the starting five if Randle is unable to play. Fantasy managers will have to check back on Tuesday for another update on Randle's status.

Sat Apr 29 202318:30Julius Randle Uncertain For Sunday
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (ankle) is considered questionable for Sunday's Game 1 against the Miami Heat. Randle exited early during Wednesday's playoff contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a left ankle sprain. Head coach Tom Thibodeau is hopeful that Randle plays, but it sounds more like a game-time decision. If he doesn't play, Obi Toppin will likely have to fill his minutes in the rotation. That would make Toppin a more appealing DFS option.
