That is a lofty goal offset by a ton of qualifiers for the sophomore second-round draft choice out of Wichita State. In 39 games last season, he played 17 minutes per game and shot 36 percent from the field. The Knicks significantly enhanced their depth this offseason, and Early didn't show any radical improvement during summer league, averaging 10.4 points and 42 percent shooting while converting 2-of-15 three-pointers. It's unclear how much peyote was consumed prior to Jackson's statement, but Early still has to plaster the holes in his overall game and comprehend the triangle offense before cracking the rotation.

Early supplied 10.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.8 blocks in 23 minutes per game during the Las Vegas Summer League.

Early struggled with his shot, converting 42 percent from the field and 2-of-15 three-pointers in five games. The second-year guard will have a difficult time cracking the Knicks rotation, and he may be better served sharpening his skills in the D-League.
