The Philadelphia 76ers exercised the third-year contract options on center Joel Embiid and guard Nik Stauskas on Friday, and the fourth-year option on forward Nerlens Noel.The moves keep the three players under contract through the 2016-17 season.Embiid has yet to play for the 76ers since being the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft out of Kansas.The Sixers announced in August that they will hold out Embiid during the 2015-16 season after he underwent a bone graft and had two screws replaced in his ailing right foot. The 7-foot Embiid also had surgery on the same foot a year ago that sidelined him for the 2014-15 season.Stauskas was the eighth overall pick in the 2014 draft by the Sacramento Kings. The 76ers traded for him in June.Noel was the sixth overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2013 NBA draft. He was traded to the Sixers on draft night.

Stauskas (ankle) struggled in Team Canada's exhibition match on Sunday against Argentina, but it was his first action since missing the entire summer league with a bum ankle.

Stauskas earned a spot on the roster after a six-day training camp, and he can be considered healthy at this point. His role on the Sixers has yet to be determined, and he'll likely have to battle Hollis Thompson, Robert Covington, and Jerami Grant for minutes on the wing.

Stauskas (ankle) confirmed his ankle is great, and he will be working out with the Canadian National Team soon.

Stauskas answered questions via the Twitter on Monday. He missed the entire summer league season because of a lingering ankle issue, but his clearance to play with Team Canada intimates he's fully recovered. It's also possible the Sixers exercised caution when handling Stauskas. He's an interesting fantasy option given the Sixers' uptempo offense and dearth of rotational talent, and an outstanding EuroBasket showing could shoot him up plenty of draft boards.

Stauskas is recovering from an ankle injury and may not compete in the Las Vegas Summer League if it's not fully healed, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Stauskas will be in Las Vegas, but there's no need to risk further injury if he's not close to 100 percent. The second-year guard is in line to absorb plenty of minutes this season, and his ability to distribute allows him to play sparingly as the team's de facto point guard.

Stauskas was traded to the 76ers Wednesday night, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports.

Stauskas is joined by teammates Carl Landry and Jason Thompson on the 76ers as the Kings were clearing out cap space for free agency. The 76ers were interested in Stauskas during the 2014 NBA Draft and have finally made a move to get him. This deal cleared up $20 million for Sacramento. Stauskas averaged just 4.4 points in 15 minutes per game in 73 regular season games with the Kings.

Stauskas currently holds little value in standard fantasy leagues, but his continuing development is something to keep an eye out for during this offseason.

Stauskus has played in each of the last three contests despite receiving a probable designation before each. That will likely be the case again Wednesday, though his status should receive an update if something changes.

Stauskas (back) logged 21 minutes Sunday against the Nuggets and posted five points, two rebounds, and two assists.

Stauskas is averaging just 4.3 points in 15.1 minutes per game this season and isn't contributing enough to be owned in most leagues.
