Tue Feb 1307:04Spencer Dinwiddie Available For Lakers Debut Tuesday
Los Angeles Lakers guard Spencer Dinwiddie is expected to make his team debut in Tuesday's matchup against Detroit. The veteran has his first practice session with the Lakers on Monday. Dinwiddie's fantasy value takes a hit in Los Angeles, as he won't be a starter, but injuries have left quite a few gaps in the lineup, and we should still see plenty of him on Tuesday. However, Dinwiddie needs to start hitting shots if he wants to carve out a significant role in L.A. The 30-year-old is shooting just 39 percent from the field this season with a 32 percent success rate from downtown.

Thu Feb 820:08Raptors Will Waive Spencer Dinwiddie
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Raptors plan to waive guard Spencer Dinwiddie. The veteran was traded to Toronto ahead of Thursday's deadline, ending his second stint with the Brooklyn Nets. Although he has had a down year up to this point, primarily due to the emergence of Cam Thomas, he still had more than a few solid outings for fantasy managers. Dinwiddie has averaged 13.6 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.1 assists in 514 regular season games. The 30-year-old probably won't remain without a team for long, and he'll likely land a routine role in a rotation wherever he ends up. Managers in all formats should keep Dinwiddie on the roster for now, considering his numbers could improve moving ahead.

Thu Feb 815:33Spencer Dinwiddie Traded To Raptors, Expected To Be Waived
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie was dealt to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Dennis Schroder and Thaddeus Young ahead of the trade deadline on Thursday. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, he's expected to be waived by the Raptors so they can save $1.5 million for a games played bonus that was in his contract. The 30-year-old has been going through a very rough shooting year as he's only knocked down 39.1% of his shots on 10.4 attempts per game. He has, however, collected 6.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds per contest while limiting his turnovers to 1.3 a night. A competitive team in need of a backup point guard will likely take a look at him on the buyout market, but he'll be a wait-and-see type of player for fantasy managers looking to add him.

Wed Feb 722:22Spencer Dinwiddie Still Available In Trade Talks
According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, guard Spencer Dinwiddie is the "most available" player on Brooklyn's roster. The 30-year-old was traded from the Mavericks ahead of the deadline last season and is currently making the second stop of his career in Brooklyn. But Dinwiddie isn't a true point guard, something the Nets need. Additionally, the uptick in production from Cam Thomas has limited Dinwiddie to just over 30 minutes per game, his lowest workload in years. He's also averaging 12.6 points, 6.0 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, all down from the 2022-23 campaign. That said, the 2014 No. 39 overall pick still has plenty to offer other teams around the National Basketball Association, and his expiring contract could benefit clubs looking to fill a temporary void. If Dinwiddie remains with the Nets, he'll likely remain a hit-or-miss fantasy asset. However, a move elsewhere could do wonders for his fantasy potential.

Mon Feb 520:50Nets Listening To Offers For Spencer Dinwiddie
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has fallen out of any future plans with the team it seems as Adrian Wojnarowski reports that they're listening to offers for him, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Royce O'Neale. The 30-year-old point guard hasn't been able to find an offensive rhythm with the Nets yet while he shoots sub-40 percent right now and averages 12.7 points per game. With the rise of Cam Thomas, Lonnie Walker IV, and Dennis Smith Jr., it seems like the Nets are comfortable getting some draft capital or younger players in return for Dinwiddie. Depending on where he moves, Dinwiddie's fantasy value could take a sizeable jump if he sees some playing time with a better team.

Wed Dec 27 202316:00Nets Resting Spencer Dinwiddie Wednesday
The Brooklyn Nets are resting guard Spencer Dinwiddie (rest) on Wednesday versus the Milwaukee Bucks for his second absence of the year. Nov. 1 marked the last time Dinwiddie was out of Brooklyn's lineup, and they've needed every bit of his playmaking with Ben Simmons (hip) missing for the majority of the season thus far. Dinwiddie shot just 2-for-11 on Tuesday but offered nine points, six assists, five rebounds, and one steal in 34 minutes as the Nets avoided being on the wrong side of history in the 118-112 win over a Detroit Pistons group that has now lost an NBA-record 27 straight games. The 30-year-old point man should be back on Friday against the Washington Wizards. More facilitating may be asked of the shoot-first Cam Thomas on Wednesday, while Dennis Smith Jr. is in line for an uptick in minutes.

Fri Nov 3 202317:56Spencer Dinwiddie Active Versus Chicago
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie (ankle) will suit up for Friday's game in Chicago. The 30-year-old injured his left ankle in Monday's meeting with the Charlotte Hornets and was ruled out for Wednesday's clash with the Miami Heat. Dinwiddie is usually a must-start fantasy option. However, he's struggled this season, averaging only 11.0 points and 4.7 assists. Dinwiddie could also see fewer minutes than usual, meaning fantasy managers could keep him out of the lineup until he proves he's back on track, assuming they have a better option available.

Fri Nov 3 202312:43Spencer Dinwiddie Expects To Play Friday
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie (ankle) is listed as questionable on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls. However, Dinwiddie said after Friday morning shootaround that he will suit up for this game. It sounds like Dinwiddie is feeling better after suffering a left ankle sprain on Wednesday. His return would likely shift Royce O'Neale to the second unit where he wouldn't have as much streaming appeal. The expectation is that Dinwiddie will have his normal workload, assuming he does play in this game.

Thu Nov 2 202322:15Spencer Dinwiddie Questionable Versus The Bulls
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie (ankle) is questionable for Friday's meeting with the Bulls in Chicago. He tweaked his left ankle in Monday's win over Charlotte and didn't play on Wednesday versus the Miami Heat. It's anyone's guess if Dinwiddie will miss another game. However, if he's ruled out, Cameron Thomas will stay in the starting lineup while remaining a must-start in nearly all fantasy formats.

Wed Nov 1 202315:28Spencer Dinwiddie Officially Out Wednesday
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat. Dinwiddie apparently sustained a left ankle sprain during the first half of Monday's 133-121 win over the Charlotte Hornets, closing with five points, three assists, and one three-pointer in 13 minutes before his night ended. There wasn't a visible moment where the 30-year-old playmaker's injury occurred, so it's hard to gauge what type of absence he is potentially facing. Dinwiddie will aim to suit up for Friday's action against the Bulls in Chicago. If healthy, Dennis Smith Jr. (hip) is a candidate make the start at the one for head coach Jacque Vaughn on Wednesday. Look for the raging-hot Cam Thomas and Lonnie Walker IV to occupy some minutes at the point, too.

Wed Nov 1 202300:13Spencer Dinwiddie Unlikely To Suit Up Against Miami
Brooklyn Nets forward Spencer Dinwiddie (ankle) isn't expected to suit up on Wednesday night in Miami. The veteran sprained his left ankle in Monday's win over the Charlotte Hornets, so he could be looking at an extended absence, including missing either or both of Brooklyn's back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. The Nets are still without Cameron Johnson (calf) and Nicolas Claxton (ankle), so the team could be down three starters on Wednesday. As a result, Mikal Bridges and Cam Thomas should remain featured in all fantasy lineups. On the other hand, guys like Dorian Finney-Smith and Lonnie Walker IV could prove helpful for those looking for high-upside streaming options.

Mon Oct 30 202321:11Spencer Dinwiddie Exits Early On Monday
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie (ankle) was forced to exit early during Monday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. Dinwiddie exited the contest with a left ankle sprain and didn't return. Lonnie Walker IV started in place of Dinwiddie during the second half of this game. Walker could have increased value going forward if Dinwiddie is forced to miss more time. Fantasy managers will have to check back for another update on Dinwiddie's status.

Mon Mar 13 202309:27Spencer Dinwiddie Hands Out Career-High 16 Assists
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie produced a career-high 16 assists as the team snuck past Denver 122-120 on Sunday. He had an awful time shooting the ball and even finished 0-for-7 from outside, but Dinwiddie rescued his fantasy line with his great playmaking, and he was also able to collect six rebounds, one steal and one block. The former Maverick finished 5-for-15 with his shots overall. That's now back-to-back double-doubles for Dinwiddie, who has done great since his return to Brooklyn. The 29-year-old has averaged 18.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 13 games with the Nets.

Wed Mar 8 202319:09Spencer Dinwiddie Resting Thursday
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie (rest) joins a long list of players sitting out for Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Dinwiddie is one of three starters who will sit out Thursday, but should be good to go for Friday's game. Edmond Sumner, Seth Curry and Patty Mills should all see increased minutes on Thursday. Cam Thomas is also a name to watch as he could see huge usage.

Mon Mar 6 202308:49Spencer Dinwiddie Flirts With A Triple-Double Sunday
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie enjoyed a nice all-around performance against Charlotte on Sunday, going close to a triple-double with 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. He helped the team to a comfortable 102-86 win, shooting 9-for-19 from the field and 3-for-10 from outside. Mikal Bridges put up 33 points to once again lead the Nets in scoring, but Dinwiddie played a big part as well in the victory, and he's now averaging 17.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.3 steals since returning to Brooklyn.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Wed Feb 8 202321:43Spencer Dinwiddie Expected To Play Thursday
Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie is expected to take the court against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. The newly acquired guard appears set to make his first appearance of his second stint in Brooklyn. It's unclear whether or not Dinwiddie is going to start or come off the bench. Regardless, he'll likely have a significant role with Kyrie Irving gone and Ben Simmons (knee) doing very little right now. Cam Thomas is likely to take a hit in value with Dinwiddie arriving. However, fantasy managers should hold Thomas right now and see what the Nets do with their rotation.

Tue Feb 7 202307:15Kyrie Irving Traded To Dallas - Fantasy Basketball Impact
Without a doubt, Kyrie Irving is arguably one of the most naturally gifted players in the National Basketball Association. He's a fantastic ball-handler and can get to the rim with ease. However, the former Duke Blue Devil's career has been surrounded by controversy, ultimately impacting his ability to win an MVP.The NBA trade deadline kicked off with a bang when Irving, who had demanded a trade out of Brooklyn, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. NBA fans and fantasy managers are left wondering how things will play out.To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NBA, make sure to favorite or bookmark the RotoBaller Fantasy Basketball Newspage, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy basketball mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. However, things were apparently going too well, as Irving dropped a bombshell by requesting a trade. His wish was granted, as he was sent to Dallas in exchange for ... [More]
Sun Feb 5 202315:39Spencer Dinwiddie Returning To Brooklyn
The Mavericks are sending Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, and multiple draft picks to the Nets in exchange for Kyrie Irving and Markieff Morris. Dinwiddie has averaged 17.7 points, 5.3 assists and shot 40.5% from deep in 53 games this season. However, he'll now return to Brooklyn, a city where he played for five seasons. Dinwiddie was at his best while with the Nets and could see a boost in production the second time around now that he's no longer sharing the floor with Luka Doncic.
