Sat Mar 1614:19T.J. Warren To Ink Another 10-Day Deal
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, forward T.J. Warren has agreed to a second 10-day contract with the Timberwolves. The 30-year-old has appeared in four games for Minnesota this season, averaging 4.8 points and 2.0 rebounds. While Warren is nowhere close to the player he once was, he might see an uptick in DFS attention in the next few weeks, considering Kyle Anderson (shoulder) has frequented the injury report of late. At the same time, Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) isn't expected back until the postseason, although that's still up in the air.

Thu Apr 6 202322:05T.J. Warren To Miss Thursday's Game
Phoenix Suns forward T.J. Warren (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Denver Nuggets. He wasn't on the original injury report, but it appears the veteran forward will miss this game due to a non-COVID related illness. His absence won't have a huge impact on the rotation. It should free up additional playing time for starter Josh Okogie. However, Okogie only played 20 minutes during their last game. He probably won't get enough minutes to warrant streaming him on Thursday.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Thu Feb 9 202308:48T.J. Warren Headed To The Suns
According to ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, T.J. Warren is on his way to the Phoenix Suns as part of the blockbuster deal that sent Kevin Durant as well. As part of the Brooklyn Nets, Warren didn't have much value as he only saw around 18 minutes per game and averaged 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest. This trade may actually raise his value since there will be some holes to fill with Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson vacating their roles on the team. He especially could be worth a look while Durant is on the mend.

Tue Feb 7 202307:15Kyrie Irving Traded To Dallas - Fantasy Basketball Impact
Without a doubt, Kyrie Irving is arguably one of the most naturally gifted players in the National Basketball Association. He's a fantastic ball-handler and can get to the rim with ease. However, the former Duke Blue Devil's career has been surrounded by controversy, ultimately impacting his ability to win an MVP.The NBA trade deadline kicked off with a bang when Irving, who had demanded a trade out of Brooklyn, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. NBA fans and fantasy managers are left wondering how things will play out.To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NBA, make sure to favorite or bookmark the RotoBaller Fantasy Basketball Newspage, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy basketball mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. However, things were apparently going too well, as Irving dropped a bombshell by requesting a trade. His wish was granted, as he was sent to Dallas in exchange for ... [More]
Mon Feb 6 202319:33T.J. Warren To Play On Monday
Brooklyn Nets forward T.J. Warren (shin) is available for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The 29-year-old will get back on the court after missing each of the last four games due to a left shin contusion. He should see an increased role off the bench with Ben Simmons (knee) and Seth Curry (groin) both sidelined for this contest. Although, his spike in value both won't last long with Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith coming into the picture soon.

Sat Feb 4 202314:17T.J. Warren Unavailable Against Washington
Brooklyn Nets forward T.J. Warren (shin) won't play on Saturday against Washington. The 29-year-old was doubtful heading into this one, so his absence isn't a surprise by any means. Nevertheless, with Warren, Ben Simmons (knee), Kyrie Irving (calf), and Kevin Durant (knee) all unavailable versus the Wizards, the Nets are in trouble. However, Royce O'Neale, Seth Curry, Nicolas Claxton, Yuta Watanabe, and Seth Curry will do their best to pick things up offensively, giving each a higher-than-usual fantasy ceiling.

Fri Feb 3 202323:16T.J. Warren Questionable Against Washington
Brooklyn Nets forward T.J. Warren (shin) is questionable for Saturday's meeting with the Wizards. The 29-year-old has missed the last three games because of a left shin contusion. With Ben Simmons (knee) also questionable, Yuta Watanabe could on the floor more than usual. Watanabe has averaged 6.8 points and shot 48.0% from deep this season, giving him some value for those in deeper category formats.

Mon Jan 30 202319:02T.J. Warren To Miss Monday's Game
Brooklyn Nets forward T.J. Warren (shin) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. He'll join fellow forward Ben Simmons (knee) on the sideline for the second straight game. The Nets will likely use a committee approach to help fill the void left by their two injured forwards. That being said, Yuta Watanabe, Royce O'Neale, and Joe Harris will all see increased roles. Harris is the best streaming out of the trio, so fantasy managers should check to see if he's available for Monday.

Sat Jan 28 202314:18T.J. Warren Out Saturday
Brooklyn Nets forward T.J. Warren (shin) will miss Saturday's contest against the Knicks. He exited early in Thursday's clash with Detroit and has been diagnosed with a left shin contusion. The 29-year-old has averaged 9.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in 19.0 minutes off the Brooklyn bench this season. Yuta Watanabe should get a bigger role off the bench with Warren missing, although he is far from a must-have player for fantasy managers.

Fri Jan 6 202314:30T.J. Warren Picks Up Questionable Tag On Friday
Brooklyn Nets forward T.J. Warren (ribs) suffered a rib contusion during Wednesday's game and had to leave the game after playing just 14 minutes. He wasn't able to return to the game and now is uncertain to play against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. Warren has played a big part in the offense while coming off of the bench. Over the last nine games, he has averaged 11.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game on 21.8 minutes per contest. If he can't suit up, look for Joe Harris and Yuta Watanabe to receive some more opportunities.

Thu Jan 5 202314:38T.J. Warren Suffers A Rib Contusion
Brooklyn Nets forward T.J. Warren exited Wednesday's matchup against Chicago in the fourth quarter after suffering a rib contusion on a screen. It was a bad ending to a bad night, as Warren failed to score in 14 minutes. The 29-year-old has bounced back well from awful injury setbacks, averaging 9.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 19.8 minutes off the Brooklyn bench this season. Joe Harris and Yuta Watanabe will have a chance to pick up extra minutes if Warren doesn't recover well enough to play Friday against New Orleans.

Fri Dec 2 202216:56T.J. Warren Set For Season Debut Friday
Brooklyn Nets small/power forward T.J. Warren (foot) is on track to make his first appearance with his new franchise for Friday's game against Toronto. Warren last suited up in a contest on Dec. 29, 2020, and has since undergone extensive rehab work to heal a stress fracture in his left foot. His return is timely as Brooklyn deals with the absence of Ben Simmons (knee) in the frontcourt. While fantasy managers will fondly remember Warren's offensive production in the 2020 bubble, there will likely be an acclimation period to getting him into the Nets' fold. As his minutes and usage tick up, he figures to once again become a staple of season-long formats (15.5 PPG for his career).

Fri Nov 11 202222:27T.J. Warren Moving In The Right Direction
Brooklyn Nets forward T.J. Warren (foot) has been cleared for contact drills with the coaching staff. Warren, who has played only four games in the last two seasons, continues to work his way back from a left foot injury. The 29-year-old signed with the Nets during the offseason after averaging 15.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals throughout his career. He will soon begin working with his teammates, barring a setback. However, Warren has a way to go before doing anything meaningful for fantasy managers.

Tue Jul 5 202214:21T.J. Warren Joins Brooklyn On One-Year Deal
Shooting guard/small forward T.J. Warren is set to become a member of the Brooklyn Nets on a one-year contract, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Warren has been hampered by left foot fractures over the past two seasons, which have limited him to a combined four contests. The 28-year-old began to display breakout potential in February 2020, as he averaged 24.4 PPG over the final 18 regular-season outings, before he averaged 20 PPG in the playoffs with Indiana. His upside with the Nets will be largely determined by whether Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will ultimately be on the move; if the duo are dealt, Warren has top scoring option potential for Brooklyn in '21-22.

Sun Feb 27 202201:09T.J. Warren Still Without A Return Date
Indiana Pacers forward T.J. Warren (foot) has been practicing with the team but still remains without a return date. The 28-year-old last played on December 29, 2020, and eventually underwent surgery a few days later to repair a Navicular fracture in his left foot. Warren, who led the team in scoring during the 2019-20 season by averaging 19.8 points per game, is certainly worth a stash for dynasty managers. However, it's unlikely he will contribute anytime soon for those in seasonal formats.

Mon Nov 8 202114:59T.J. Warren Has Updated Timetable
Indiana Pacers forward T.J. Warren (foot) is hopeful to be able to return to the court around December or January. He got out of his walking boot roughly a week ago, which is an encouraging sign. Warren played in a total of four games last season and hasn't been on the court yet this year. The Pacers are going to ease him back into action once Warren does return. There is no reason to stash Warren in fantasy formats yet unless you have an available IR spot. Although, this is good news that the Pacers at least have a timetable for his return.

Tue Sep 7 202123:13T.J. Warren Remains Out Indefinitely
Indiana Pacers guard T.J. Warren (foot) remains out indefinitely. The veteran continues to rehab after having surgery back in January to repair a stress fracture in his left foot. With Warren's recent efforts to make it back to the court not going so well, likely, he may not be back in the lineup for months, if not longer. Still, for managers in deeper formats, the 28-year-old certainly is worthy of a stash, primarily since he has picked it up on the scoring end over the years. However, his health is always in question, which is certainly something to think about moving ahead.

Wed Jun 30 202117:19Carlisle brings optimistic vision back to Pacers bench
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Rick Carlisle chose the Indiana Pacers for many reasons. He enjoyed his first two stints in Indianapolis, already had strong relationships with team owner Herb Simon and president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard and thought the roster was a good fit for his coaching style. The Pacers appreciated something else — Carlisle's championship resume. On Wednesday, nearly a full week after Pritchard hired him, Carlisle mapped out his vision for the Pacers. “This is my kind of team. As I look at the roster and as I’ve talked to all these guys, I have an even greater feeling that it’s a group of guys I will have a blast working with," he said. “I like the way they’re talking. We’re going to find a way to play better defense and we’ve got to get back to the playoffs and win in the playoffs." For the 61-year-old Carlisle, it's essentially a homecoming. Before spending 13 seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, going 555-478 and winning the NBA championship in 2010-11, Carlisle... [More]
