Black, who went undrafted, but signed with the Houston Rockets to begin the 2014-15 season, ended his first NBA season playing a significant role for the Los Angeles Lakers. Waived by the Rockets when Josh Smith was signed, Black was quickly snapped up by the Lakers and played an important role down the stretch. Black averaged 6.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 19 minutes, through 63 games, of which he started 39. He shot 58 percent from the field on 4.3 attempts and 55 percent from the line on 1.9 attempts.

Black's season can easily be broken into two portions - Houston and Los Angeles. While he was with the Lakers, Black started 27 of the 38 games his played, averaging 21 minutes per game, with 7.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.6 blocks. During that time, Black was the 232nd ranked player for eight-category rotisserie leagues, but improved that to 176h over the season's last month. Black is a free agent for 2015-16, and barring a series of unforeseen circumstances, his fantasy value will be limited to the deepest of leagues.

Black grabbed a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes of action Friday against the Timberwolves.

Black is averaging 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds over the last five games -- numbers that make him an asset in 16-man leagues or deeper. The Lakers are on full tank mode, which means Black may continue to see enough minutes to contribute.

Black posted seven points, 10 rebounds, and two assists in 23 minutes of action Friday against the Raptors.

Black is quietly averaging 8.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks over the last five games. That being said, he's still very easy to overlook because he doesn't contribute anywhere else in the stat sheet. He's a low-end option in 16-man leagues at best.

Black scored 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 FT) with 10 rebounds, two assists and a steal in 30 minutes during Thursday's loss to the Jazz.

Although he isn't providing big numbers it was Black's second double-double in his last four games, and he did receive the most court time he's gotten seven games since returning to the lineup. In deep leagues, he could be worth taking a chance on if you need frontcourt help.

Black started Sunday's loss to the Mavericks, and played in 26 minutes but had just six points (2-5 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal.

Black had been out for five games, and played only nine minutes Friday. Head coach Byron Scott is clearly experimenting with the lineups, so there's not great Lakers to own in fantasy anyway, but Black is going to be sharing time with Carlos Boozer and hasn't received consistent playing time this season.

Black will start in Sunday's game against the Mavericks, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Black has seen time in the starting lineup before, although coach Byron Scott continually changes his starting lineup and this is just another iteration of that trend. For the time being, Black will take over at center for Robert Sacre on Sunday.

Black received a DNP-CD for Wednesday's game against the Jazz.

Coach Byron Scott is openly experimenting with his lineup and Black is not one of the beneficiaries of that tutelage. Black is currently a lackluster option as a result unless Scott has a change of heart.

Black will move to the bench for Sunday's game against the Celtics, Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News reports.

Black saw extended time in the starting lineup but that stint has come to an end at the authority of coach Byron Scott. The coach has expressed his desire to continually switch up the starting lineup in the final stretch of the season and that may have some adverse effects on Black's value as Carlos Boozer gets the promotion Sunday.
