Wear signed a contract Wednesday with Spanish club Gipuzkoa, Sportando reports.

After being non-tendered by the Knicks last season following an uninspiring rookie season during which he shot just 40.2 percent from the field in 51 games, Wear failed to receive much NBA interest during the summer. He'll try to recoup some value while playing in Spain, but even if he does resurface in the NBA at some point, don't expect him to be much more than a deep reserve.

Wear did not receive a qualifying offer from the Knicks, making him an unrestricted free agent, NBA.com reports.

Wear played in 51 games for the Knicks this season, averaging 3.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 13 minutes per game. He could end up latching onto a team as bench fodder, but it's hard to see a path to fantasy relevance for Wear if he wasn't able to capitalize on the golden goose that was the 2014-15 Knicks.

Wear has been sidelined for an extended period of time due to a lower-back issue, and Sunday is no exception. However, he remains a day-to-day status, with a return possible at any point.

Wear (back) will not play Wednesday against the Clippers, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.

It will be the second straight absence for Wear, who began experiencing soreness in his lower-back Sunday against the Raptors. Consider the forward day-to-day.

Wear should be a game-time decision for Monday's contest against the Grizzlies. In his potential absence, Quincy Acy may see added time on the court.

Wear played his first game since January 24th, but failed to register a single stat, save for the one personal foul he committed in two minutes on the court.

Wear had a decent stretch in early January, but it's hard to rely on him in any sort of league, particularly if Derek Fisher is only going to give him two minutes a night.

Wear (hip) logged a DNP-CD Tuesday against the Hawks and remains a game-time decision moving forward.

Wear has had a few productive runs this season, with the Knicks juggling to find a replacement for the games Carmelo Anthony (rest) misses. Stll, it appears Tim Hardaway Jr. and Lance Thomas are both ahead of Wear in the rotation, which leaves Wear in a tough position.

Wear (hip) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lakers.

Wear hasn't played in any of the last three contest due to the hip injury, but averages just 13 minutes on the season anyway. He is questionable for Sunday's tilt at this point, but his official status could be updated prior to the contest.

Wear (hip) did not play in Thursday's game against the Pacers.

Wear has a strained left hip, and has five of his past six games. He did score double-digit points three times this month, but hasn't seen much action as of late. His next chance to return is Sunday against the Lakers.

Wear is dealing with a hip injury and will join Amar'e Stoudemire on the inactive list. Wear has scored in double-figures three times this month but has seen just 22 combined minutes over the Knicks' last four games.

Wear scored a career-high 21 points (9-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt) to go along with five rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 26 minutes off the bench against the Rockets on Thursday.

Wear led the Knicks in scoring Thursday as Carmelo Anthony (knee) remained on the sidelines. This upward trend could continue for Wear as the Knicks recently parted ways with J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert, in congruence with the knee problems for Anthony. The team is currently in a state of limbo and Wear seems like a plausible candidate to take advantage of a situation where his team is without options on the offensive side of the ball.

Wear scored 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt) with five rebounds and a steal in 18 minutes off the bench Wednesday.

It's the first time this season he's scored in double digits. The rotations on the tanking Knicks are in major flux right now, and if Wear can continue to be a threat from three-point range he could start to see consistent minutes.

Wear made his first-career start against the Bulls on Thursday and put up eight points (4-7 FG), four rebounds, and one steal in 26 minutes.

Wear was inserted into the starting lineup for the injured Carmelo Anthony (ankle) on Thursday. Anthony is just dealing with a sore ankle, so it seems unlikely that Wear will be granted extended time in coach Derek Fisher's starting five. On top of that, Wear is only averaging 10.5 minutes on the court this season so Thursday's season-high in minutes was an opportunity that won't likely have much staying power.

Wear will start Thursday against the Bulls.

Wear is averaging under 10 minutes per game this eason, but will receive the start Thursday with the Knicks dealing with a plethora of injuries. Three are still a number of players who should see significant time, but Wear should see a boost in minutes against the Bulls, though it's unclear exactly how much of an increase he will get.

Wear could make his first NBA start Tuesday against the Bucks, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.

Wear, an undrafted free agent out of UCLA, has been a pleasant surprise for New York this season, providing dependable defense in limited minutes. He's played 15 and 12 minutes, respectively, in the last two games, and it appears coach Derek Fisher is considering inserting him into the starting lineup as a change of pace for the 3-8 Knicks. Nothing is set in stone, of course, but Ware would likely take the place of Quincy Acy in the starting five.
