Curtis injured the shoulder making a diving catch during Sunday's game. We knew he would be out for a while, but it sounds like he'll be able to avoid surgery. He'll hang back and rehab the shoulder in Tampa for now. |

It was a three-run homer off Scot Shields. Curtis has limited power, but he is 7-for-27 with seven RBI in 27 at-bats since joining the Yankees a month ago. He's doing his best to show GM Brian Cashman that there's no need for him to go out and get a veteran reserve outfielder at the deadline. |
