The Miami Heat signed guard Briante Weber and waived guard Corey Hawkins, the team announced Monday.Weber was considered an outstanding defender at Virginia Commonwealth, but his final college season was cut short when suffered a torn ACL last January.He was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year in three consecutive seasons.Hawkins appeared in two games with the Heat this preseason and had six points, two rebounds and an assist in 14 minutes of action.
