Wed Jun 15 202222:10Boban Marjanovic On The Move
The Rockets are acquiring center Boban Marjanovic from Dallas in exchange for Christian Wood. Houston is also receiving the No. 26 overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft along with Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, and Marquese Chriss. Marjanovic has averaged only 5.9 points and 3.8 boards throughout his career, so despite the change of scenery, he will likely continue to spend most of the time on the bench. However, if Alperen Sengun were to succumb to injury in 2022-23, Marjanovic could receive some interest from fantasy managers as a streaming option in deeper formats.

Mon May 30 202221:57Boban Marjanovic Expected To Remain In Dallas
Dallas Mavericks center Boban Marjanovic is expected to remain on the roster. The big man has one year remaining on his current deal and is due to make $3.5 million this season. Despite averaging only 4.3 points and 1.7 rebounds throughout 23 appearances during the 2021-22 campaign, the 33-year-old is a proven locker room leader, so the team would like to keep him at all costs. Still, it's unlikely he will see interest from fantasy managers heading into October. Yet, if he can carve out a more consistent role in the lineup, he'll be worth a look in deeper formats. Marjanovic may also get a start here or there during the year, so he may also receive some waiver consideration from those dealing with injuries.

Wed Dec 29 202119:58Boban Marjanovic, Brandon Knight Land In COVID Protocols
Dallas Mavericks center Boban Marjanovic and point/shooting guard Brandon Knight have become the latest members of their team to join the league's health and safety protocols, ruling them out indefinitely. While Marjanovic has been a tremendous per minute producer, he has seen just 5.9 minutes per contest this season, keeping him on the outside looking in of fantasy relevance in all season-long formats. Knight has enjoyed a brief three-game resurgence with Dallas, who remains massively shorthanded in the backcourt. The veteran dialed up an 18-point performance Monday, but his future with the team is now murky as he does have a guaranteed deal moving forward.

Thu Oct 28 202120:01Boban Marjanovic Ruled Out Thursday
Dallas Mavericks center Boban Marjanovic (back) will sit Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs. Marjanovic popped up on the injury report with back tightness, but was eventually upgraded to probable and all signs pointed to him playing. Despite this, Marjanovic was a late scratch, leaving the Mavs with some decisions to make with Kristaps Porzingis (back) also out. Maxi Kleber may take the starting power forward spot or they shift Dorian Finney-Smith to the four and add Jalen Brunson to the starting lineup. Regardless, all three will likely see an increased role on Thursday. The Mavs are starting a back-to-back set which could have contributed to Marjanovic sitting.

Thu Mar 12 202000:01Mavs avoid 3-game skid with 113-97 win over Nuggets
DALLAS (AP) — Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle, like his players, heard about the NBA's decision to suspend the season while in the third quarter of their game against the Denver Nuggets. That ended up being the last game completed in the league Wednesday night, and the Mavericks avoided their first three-game losing streak before the NBA season's suspension “until further notice" after a Utah Jazz player tested positive for the coronavirus. “Very concerned, but it’s not necessarily about basketball. Obviously this is much bigger than basketball,” Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said.“This is because of just the league being concerned about the health of fans, players and arena personnel," Carlisle said. “There’s going to be more meetings and more talk tomorrow about what the next steps are. There’s no timetable.” Boban Marjanovic had 31 points and 17 rebounds, Luka Doncic scored 28 points and the Mavericks won 113-97, which was secondary considering the entire situation. DALLAS (AP) — Boban Marjanovic had 31 points and 17 rebounds, Luka Doncic scored 28 points and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Denver Nuggets 113-97 on Wednesday night before the suspension of the NBA season because of the coronavirus. Jamal Murray had 25 points to lead Denver, and Will Barton had 23.Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told national and regional television broadcasts that players were aware of the situation during the game, and were talking about it on the bench. “It's about the country and life in general ... Mon Sep 30 201920:53Porzingis that much closer to return, preps for Mavs debut
DALLAS (AP) — Kristaps Porzingis can now count in days what he once couldn't even really count at all: his return to the court for a real game for the first time since a knee injury nearly 20 months ago.The 7-foot-3 Latvian preparing for his debut with the Dallas Mavericks might even be willing to count the first preseason game for his new team, in about a week. That Porzingis will be doing all that with new Euro sidekick and reigning rookie of the year Luka Doncic as the Mavericks move on from 21 seasons with German superstar Dirk Nowitzki makes it all the more interesting for a club that hasn't been to the playoffs since 2016."I can't even explain in words how excited I am," said Porzingis, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in what ended up being his final game with the New York Knicks on Feb. 6, 2018. "It's been a long time."On media day Monday — the first without Nowitzki since 1997 — coach Rick Carlisle wasn't ready for any playoff proclamations for a franchise... [More]

Sat Apr 20 201903:24Finally a playoff game at Detroit Pistons' new arena
Little Caesars Arena in Detroit will finally host its first playoff game — in what is probably the last chance the Pistons have to make their series against Milwaukee competitive."Let's make it hard on them," Detroit coach Dwane Casey said. "Let's make it a home atmosphere, because we need everything."The Milwaukee-Detroit matchup is one of two series shifting sites Saturday. Houston and Utah will also play Game 3 in Salt Lake City. There are a couple Game 4s on tap as well: Philadelphia at Brooklyn, and Denver at San Antonio. The Pistons are in their second season at their new arena, but even after moving downtown, they've had their share of small, dreary crowds — similar to the atmosphere during their final years at The Palace of Auburn Hills. But there's every reason to expect a more charged scene Saturday night. Little Caesars Arena has hosted the NCAA and Horizon League tournaments in basketball, but there have been no home playoff games yet for the Pistons — or for the Red Wings, who... [More]

Wed Nov 14 201813:17Nameless Clippers holding their own early in rugged West
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The best NBA team in Los Angeles right now isn't the one with LeBron James. It's the no-name Clippers.Going into Wednesday, the Clippers were fourth in the rugged Western Conference at 8-5, with overtime wins against defending NBA champion Golden State and Milwaukee, as well as Oklahoma City and Houston (twice)."We're going to keep on getting better," leading scorer Tobias Harris said. "We've showed we can play with the best of them."While they don't have talent on par with those teams, the Clippers are transitioning to a new era with a mix of veterans like Danilo Gallinari, Harris, Marcin Gortat and Patrick Beverley. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has cracked the starting lineup as a rookie point guard. Montrezl Harrell brings a contagious energy off the bench. In a win over Washington, they had a franchise-record nine players score in double figures."They seem to all have a chip on their shoulder because a lot of those guys are really good players but they might not get the...
