Wed Jan 5 202218:13Raul Neto Will Play Wednesday
Washington Wizards guard Raul Neto will play against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. He has cleared the league's health and safety protocols and will get back in action. The Wizards could desperately use the help with Spencer Dinwiddie and Aaron Holiday both sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols. Although, head coach Wes Unseld Jr. did mention Neto won't start and will have a minutes limit of around 30 for Wednesday. Despite that, he could still have some low cost DFS value for Wednesday's slate.

Sun Dec 26 202117:06Raul Neto Sitting Out On Sunday
Washington Wizards guard Raul Neto has entered the league's health and safety protocols. That being said, Neto will sit out of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Neto will join Bradley Beal and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in protocols. Spencer Dinwiddie and Aaron Holiday stand to gain plenty of value with the Wizards shorthanded at the guard spot. Dinwiddie is the much better option between the two, but Holiday could still have some low-end streaming appeal.

Mon Nov 23 202017:12Wizards GM says John Wall not on trading block: 'No issues'
WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Wizards general manager Tommy Sheppard dropped by point guard John Wall’s workout Monday and they chatted. About their kids. About Thanksgiving Day plans. About their favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys. What they didn’t discuss, according to Sheppard, was the possibility of Washington dealing Wall elsewhere. “There’s no plans to trade John,” were the first words spoken by Sheppard during a video conference Monday, when most questions from reporters were about the five-time All-Star who was the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft. Wall missed all of last season, and most of 2018-19, too, with injuries to his left heel, then Achilles tendon, and reports surfaced in recent days that he requested a trade. Sheppard downplayed that with training camp set to begin next week, saying Wall “didn’t request” to be moved when they spoke Monday. He said he and Wall speak “pretty much every other day” and characterized their relationship as “very, very close.” “There’s... [More]
Fri Jul 12 201915:5976ers unveil Horford & Co. as upgrades in championship chase
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Al Horford took a seat at one of the three tables needed to fit six players, an owner and a general manager and admired the Philadelphia skyline in the distance."This view gets me excited," Horford said . "This view back there of the city."It's the city he will call his basketball home for the next four years, one that hasn't held a championship parade for the 76ers since 1983 and where the franchise went nearly 20 years without creating much of a stir until Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons arrived on the scene. But to try to finally get over that title hump, the 76ers need more — they needed Horford.Horford could be the difference for the Sixers this season, not just because he's a four-time All-Star who can thrive as a low post defender and shoot the 3. It's because Horford can spell Embiid, the notoriously injury-prone franchise player, at center. The theory goes, keep Embiid fresh and healthy in the regular season, and watch him carry the Sixers through a dominant postseason."We... [More]
Mon Sep 24 201819:27Utah Jazz open training camp focused on internal development
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah didn't make any major offseason moves but fans shouldn't mistake that for a sign the Jazz are satisfied with the status quo. With the start of training camp, Utah players and coaches are echoing the same message: Continuity doesn't equal complacency. The Jazz are focused on maximizing potential they showed toward the end of last season — with a roster that has returned mostly intact — once the regular season starts in mid-October."I don't want to pick up where we left off," coach Quin Snyder told reporters at the team's media day Monday. "That implies it's the same group beginning to do something. This is a new journey. We can take with us the experience. We can take with us the chemistry and the things we learned. But this is a new team."Nothing encapsulates that attitude better than the work various Jazz players have put in while preparing for the season.Derrick Favors and Jae Crowder dropped weight over the summer to improve their mobility and quickness in operating... Fri Jul 6 201817:25Jazz aim for continued growth in bringing back free agents
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — No roster makeover for the Utah Jazz.Rather than spend time and money trying to make a splash by bringing in a high-profile free agent, the Jazz are banking on continued internal development and continuity to boost a team that finished the 2017-18 season on a tear. That approach is reflected in the team's decision to bring back free agents Derrick Favors, Dante Exum, and Raul Neto under new multi-year contracts."Chemistry is a hard thing," Jazz GM Dennis Lindsey said at a press conference on Friday announcing the three free-agent signings. "It's a hard thing to predict. You can get five great people in the room and have it just not click for whatever reason, so we didn't want to overthink that."Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.Keeping Utah's roster virtually intact going into the 2018-19 season appears to be a sound move given how the Jazz finished this past NBA season. Utah earned the fifth seed in the West with a 48-34 record, going 29-6 over their final... [More]
Mon Jul 2 201820:03AP source: Favors returns to Utah on 2-year deal
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Upon hearing that power forward Derrick Favors was returning to Utah, his Jazz teammates Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert reacted by quickly making similar requests. They want him to buy dinner.Favors surely can do that now. With the NBA still processing the ramifications of LeBron James going to the Los Angeles Lakers and more than $1 billion in new deals getting struck on the first full day of free agency, deals continued Monday — and Favors was one of the day's big winners. He agreed to a two-year, $36 million deal to return to the Jazz, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press."Let's get it!!!" Favors wrote on Twitter, not long after news of the deal broke. The Jazz went to Atlanta over the weekend to sit down with Favors, and Utah general manager Dennis Lindsey had said going into the negotiating period that the team felt good about retaining all three of their free agents — Favors, Dante Exum and Raul Neto. The biggest domino in that trio... Neto will get the start at point guard for Friday night's preseason contest.
The Jazz will rest Trey Burke on Friday, so Neto, a rookie out of Brazil, will be handed the reins. The 23-year-old is not a score-first point guard, but he's a skilled passer and has registered 10 assists and five steals through the team's first two exhibition contests (36 total minutes).
Tue Oct 6 201518:25Neto scored only two points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in Sunday'...
Neto scored only two points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in Sunday's preseason debut against the Lakers, but finished the game with a team-leading six steals and four assists.
The Jazz ratcheted up their defensive intensity in the 20 minutes when Neto was on the court, finishing with a plus-20 point differential. In contrast to incumbent starting point guard Trey Burke, Neto is a pass-first defensive stopper who figures to give the Jazz a jolt of energy whenever he's on the court. For now, the question remains how often Quin Snyder may choose to deploy Neto. Burke's development has seemed to flat line since he was selected in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft, so if he continues to struggle in the subsequent preseason games to come, Neto could make a serious run at the starting job.

Neto backed his way into a spot in the rotation with Dante Exum (knee) expected to miss the entire 2015-16 campaign, Aaron Falk of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
There's an outside shot for Neto to start over Trey Burke when the season begins Oct. 29 against the Rockets, but it seems unlikely at this point since Burke has experience as a starter, and conversely, Neto hasn't even made his NBA debut yet. With that being said, Neto and Burke have different styles at the helm of an offense with Burke taking shots in abundance while Neto favors the pass and overall conservatism. When considering that Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks, and Derrick Favors already give the Jazz an ability to score, Snyder could ultimately favor Neto over Burke as the season progresses and Neto gains confidence as an NBA player. Nevertheless, Neto is not currently a viable option in standard leagues but he's definitely a player to keep an eye on as the season season develops in Utah.
Thu Jul 9 201521:37Neto agreed to multi-year contract with Jazz on Thursday
Neto agreed to a multi-year contract with the Jazz on Thursday, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Neto was drafted by the Hawks with the 47th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. He spent last season with UCAM Murcia of the Liga ACB in Spain, finishing with averages of 8.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.2 steals over 22 minutes per game. He'll join the Jazz's roster as depth in the backcourt behind the likes of Dante Exum, Trey Burke, and Rodney Hood. The rookie will likely have a tough time finding minutes, so he shouldn't provide much in terms of fantasy value from the start.

Neto (finger) is playing with Brazil in the FIBA World Cup Games this summer.
Neto broke his finger back in April, but felt good enough to play with Brazil this summer. He's played well so far, including a double-double he posted Thursday against Egypt with 14 points and 10 assists, on seven for seven shooting from the field. Neto was drafted by the Jazz in the second round of the 2013 NBA Draft, but spent last season playing in Spain. Neto will be playing in Spain again this upcoming season, so the Jazz will have to wait at least another year before having the opportunity to bring him over.
Fri Jun 27 201415:57Raul Neto won't play for Jazz Summer League
Jazz 2013 pick Raul Neto will not participate in this year's Summer League, instead he will go back to Brazil and compete for his national team.
Sources say that Jazz management is still deciding on whether to bring over the Brazilian point guard, or let him spend another year overseas developing. Neto has averaged 9.8 points, and 3.3 assists on 43.8 percent shooting during his time in the EuroLeague, so he certainly could use some more time developing his game. Whether he comes over or not, he will be playing behind Dante Exum and Trey Burke, a situation that doesn't offer much upside from a fantasy perspective.

Sat Apr 26 201410:21Raul Neto breaks finger, out 2-3 weeks
Jazz 2013 draft pick Raul Neto broke the index finger on his right hand and will miss 2-3 weeks.
Neto was drafted 47th overall last year by the Jazz but spent last year playing in Spain. The 21-year-old Brazilian averaged over nine points per game in the ACB last season. He could make the jump to the NBA next season where he'd likely be fighting for minutes with guys like John Lucas III and Diante Garrett. Fantasy owners can safely ignore him on draft day.

Mon Jul 22 201309:40Raul Neto will play overseas this season
Raul Neto will play in Spain for this upcoming season.
The Jazz took him with the 47th pick after Neto averaged 8.5 points and 2.9 assists for Lagun Arco GBC in the Spanish League. Neto could wind up with the Jazz next year and could get minutes with the team currently lacking elite point guard depth.

Sun Jul 7 201300:54Update: Raul Neto may play in Summer League
Updating a previous report, Jazz rookie Raul Neto is in Orlando awaiting FIBA clearance to participate in Summer League.
It was previously reported that Neto would not play in Summer League, though his presence doesn't mean that he'll join the Mavs for the 2013-14 season. Though subject to change, he's expected to remain under contract in Spain for at least one more season.

Sat Jul 6 201321:31Raul Neto to stay in Spain another year
Jazz draft pick Raul Neto will remain in Spain for at least one more season.
This has been the expectation ever since the Mavs took Neto at No. 47 overall, and he will not join the Mavericks' Summer League team. It's possible that he'll make the jump to the NBA in 2014.
