Sun Feb 2515:44Thomas Bryant Will Miss Three Games
Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant will serve a three-game suspension for his involvement in a melee during Friday's meeting with the New Orleans Pelicans. The 26-year-old has averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds this season. However, along with his lack of production, he has routinely been held off the floor by head coach Erik Spoelstra. As a result, Bryant's suspension won't have much of an impact on fantasy managers, considering he hasn't done much in any statistical area this season.

Sat Feb 2405:44Thomas Bryant Ejected Without Logging Any Minutes
Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant was ejected from Friday's game against New Orleans without logging any playing time. A foul on Zion Williamson early in the fourth quarter sparked an altercation, and things got very heated between Bryant and Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado. Both players threw punches at each other and will likely receive a suspension following the incident. Bryant has played just seven games since the turn of the year, so Miami shouldn't have any issues coping with his absence. The 26-year-old big man has averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 10.4 minutes in 25 games for the season.

Sat Oct 14 202300:03Thomas Bryant Disappears On Friday
Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant scored four points in Friday's loss to the Spurs. He added five rebounds and turned the ball over three times. The 26-year-old narrowly missed a double-double in the exhibition with Charlotte on Tuesday night. However, he cooled off in this one. Nevertheless, the 2017 second-round pick should see routine playing time behind Bam Adebayo during the 2023-24 campaign. He may also start at times if Miami needs bigger bodies underneath the rim. As a result, Bryant should play considerably better than he did with the Lakers and Nuggets last season, meaning he's worth adding late in fantasy drafts.

Sun Sep 10 202309:00Thomas Bryant Aims To Help Heat With His Versatility
Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant sees himself as a valuable asset for the Eastern Conference champions with his versatility. "I feel like I can help this team based on what I've seen as an interior presence, interior scoring, my versatility out there to be able to shoot the three and make mid-range jump shots and score at the rim," Bryant told Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald. "But I feel like the versatility that I will bring to the table will really help the team in a great way." Bryant, who signed a two-year deal with the Heat this offseason, will be firmly stuck behind Bam Adebayo in Miami, but his ability to shoot from outside could also lead to a few minutes next to him, which would boost his fantasy value.

Sat Aug 26 202309:44Heat Have Been Long-Time Admirers Of Thomas Bryant
Miami Heat center Thomas Bryant will likely feel very welcome in South Florida, with head coach Erik Spoelstra admitting that he has kept the big man in high regard ever since Bryant had a pre-draft workout with the Heat. "Thomas is somebody that we worked out in the draft when he came out in the draft and we were a fan of his then and then we've also kept an eye on him over the years, mostly when he was with Washington. And then his time with L.A., I thought was really important," Spoelstra told Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald. "You could see how he could be effective in our system and how he can play with multiple guys. He's big, he's physical, he plays with a motor and he can also stretch the floor. So he can have a presence at the rim and in the paint, but he also can space the floor and be efficient behind the three-point line. We're excited to be able to add him to our roster and add some depth to our frontcourt and some versatile depth." Bryant will work as Bam Adebayo's backup in Miami, which limits his fantasy value.

Tue Aug 1 202307:32Biggest Moves of the 2023 NBA Offseason - Fred VanVleet, Jordan Poole, Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal
It's a crazy time of year around the National Basketball Association. Not long after the Denver Nuggets captured the franchise's first championship, French big manVictor Wembanyama was the top pick of the 2023 Draft. While new talent entering the league is all well and good, nothing turns the NBA upside down quite like the beginning of free agency. Since June 30, many notable players have signed with new teams. There were also more than a few significant trades. In either case, at least a handful of clubs will look very different (for the better?) come training camp. Let's take a look at some of the biggest names on the move and how they might affect the NBA landscape this season.

Fred VanVleet - Houston Rockets

The Rockets entered the 2022-23 campaign as the second-youngest team in the National Basketball Association, and it showed. The club finished with 22 wins and 60 losses, with the Pistons being the only team with a worse record. As a result, the front office made a point to shake things up after the exhaustingly long year came to a close. The overhaul began when Stephen Silas, winning just 59 of his 236 games in Houston, was relieved of his head coaching duties. In his place, Ime Udoka, who helped guide the Celtics to an NBA Finals appearance in his first season, took the reigns. While Udoka's tenure in Boston didn't end on a positive note, he's still regarded as one of the sharpest minds in the league, even by those who lost respect for him on a personal level.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1650612243661242369?s=20While having a knowledgeable head coach will help accelerate the growth of an up-and-coming squad, the Rockets needed someone to facilitate things on the floor. With Houston having plenty of cap space entering the offseason, the team signed ... [More]
Sun Mar 5 202321:46Thomas Bryant Expected To Play On Monday
Denver Nuggets center Thomas Bryant (ankle/hip) is currently listed as probable for the team's contest against the Toronto Raptors. The 25-year-old has had a very inconsistent role since joining the team, so his fantasy value is hard to predict game-to-game. He's dealing with both an ankle sprain and a hip contusion so he may not play that many minutes if the pain is too much. Fantasy managers will want to look elsewhere for a center as Bryant is only averaging 4.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game since coming to Denver.

Sat Feb 11 202318:51Thomas Bryant To Make Team Debut
Denver Nuggets center Thomas Bryant is set to make his team debut against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. He was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to Denver on Thursday. The expectation is that he'll be the primary backup center to Nikola Jokic. He'll offer much more upside than Zeke Nnaji or DeAndre Jordan. Both of those players will hardly be fantasy options with Bryant in the mix. The 25-year-old is still coming off the bench, so his value is limited, but he's worth a look in deep leagues.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202313:49Thomas Bryant Sent To Denver
Center Thomas Bryant was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, with Davon Reed and three second-round picks going the other way. The 25-year-old is set to play for a third team in 12 months after ending his stint with Washington to sign with the Lakers in the offseason. Bryant played a big role when Anthony Davis was recovering from injury, but he became surplus to requirements when the Lakers added Rui Hachimura and Jarred Vanderbilt to the roster. In Denver, Bryant finds himself as Nikola Jokic's backup, which isn't a great situation for him from a fantasy perspective.

Mon Jan 23 202307:59Thomas Bryant Comes Back To Life
Los Angeles Lakers center Thomas Bryant was one of the stars of the show in Sunday's 121-112 comeback victory over Portland, helping the team win from a 25-point halftime deficit with a season-high 31 points and 14 rebounds. He got hot from deep with a 4-for-5 effort and ended up missing just three of his 15 shots in total. Bryant also had one assist and one block in 33 minutes of action. The big performance came after Bryant had even failed to get into double figures in scoring in three straight contests. It was great to see Bryant regaining his form, but unfortunately for him, he doesn't have many opportunities left to shine anymore, with Anthony Davis (foot) lurking in the background and nearing his return.

Sun Jan 8 202307:55Thomas Bryant Has A Big Game Against The Kings
Los Angeles Lakers center Thomas Bryant scored a career-high 29 points and picked up 14 rebounds as the team came away from Sacramento with a 136-134 victory. His work included 10 points in a nerve-wracking fourth quarter where the teams exchanged punches right until the very end. He got his points with a superb 12-for-14 record from the field and with a 5-for-7 effort at the line. Defensively, Bryant helped out with one steal and one block. The big guy out of Indiana has had an opportunity to impress with Anthony David (foot) out of commission, and whilst there have been some bumps on the road, Bryant has done very well overall. He is averaging 16.3 points and 9.7 rebounds as a starter for the season.

Sat Dec 31 202202:53Thomas Bryant Has A Big Night Against Atlanta
Los Angeles Lakers center Thomas Bryant played well in Friday's win over the Atlanta Hawks. The big man helped LeBron James celebrate his birthday by amassing a double-double, courtesy of a 19-point, 17-rebound effort. Anthony Davis (foot) is out for the foreseeable future, meaning Bryant should continue to fill his spot in the lineup. He is averaging 13.6 points and 7.6 boards in nine starts this season, so he offers value for managers in all fantasy formats, at least until Davis returns and gets back to 100%,

Sat Dec 24 202207:38Thomas Bryant Gets Injured Late On Friday
Los Angeles Lakers center Thomas Bryant suffered a shoulder injury late in Friday's 134-130 loss to Charlotte. While going up for a shot, Bryant was hit on his right arm by Charlotte's Mason Plumlee and he left the court in pain after logging 33 minutes of action. The 25-year-old had eight points and a game-high 13 rebounds in the contest. Bryant is now under evaluation to determine the severity of the injury. The team will be desperate to get some good news, as frontcourt depth will become an issue if Bryant gets sidelined. He has been filling in for Anthony Davis (foot) lately, posting some solid numbers. Wenyen Gabriel would be the next man up at the center position if Bryant misses time.

Mon Dec 19 202208:27Thomas Bryant Bags First Double-Double
Los Angeles Lakers center Thomas Bryant started his stint as the starting big with his first double-double of the campaign. The 25-year-old went for 16 points and 10 rebounds on Sunday in a 119-117 win against his former team, the Wizards. In 33 minutes of action, he added a pair of assists and finished with 7-for-13 shooting, which included a 2-for-2 effort from deep. Overall, Bryant has now run with the starters three times this season, and he's averaged 13.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in these games. He looks set for a very fruitful period, with Anthony Davis (knee) ruled out for at least a month.

Mon Nov 14 202214:34Dennis Schroder, Thomas Bryant Expected To Return On Friday
Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder (thumb) and center Thomas Bryant (thumb) are expected to be back for Friday's game, according to teammate Lonnie Walker IV. It sounds like the two players are going to be re-evaluated at some point during the week. After that, both of them should be ready to go on Friday, assuming they don't suffer any setbacks. They will likely be eased into action, but should be significant parts of the rotation once they're back to full speed. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor their situation.

Wed Nov 9 202221:04Thomas Bryant Has No Timetable For Return
Los Angeles Lakers center Thomas Bryant (thumb) was re-evaluated on Wednesday after undergoing surgery earlier in the year. It sounds like Bryant is progressing, but has no timetable for his return. Head coach Darvin Ham is still "a ways out" from returning to the court. It's going to take time for Bryant to ramp up his activities once he is clear to get back on the court. Fantasy managers shouldn't bother stashing Bryant at the moment. Anthony Davis is going to see a majority of the playing time at center with Damian Jones getting the backup minutes.

Mon Oct 17 202221:30Thomas Bryant Will Miss Season Opener
Los Angeles Lakers center Thomas Bryant (thumb) won't suit up for the season opener on Tuesday. The injuries continue to pile up for Bryant, which is a real shame. The 25-year-old does have potential, but his career has been derailed by injuries. Hopefully, Bryant won't miss much time from this thumb sprain. In the meantime, Damian Jones is expected to back up Anthony Davis during Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. Jones won't have much streaming value with Davis soaking up a majority of the playing time.

Thu Feb 24 202218:56Thomas Bryant Earns Questionable Tag For Friday’s Game
Washington Wizards center Thomas Bryant (ankle) has been deemed questionable to suit up for Friday's contest vs. the Spurs due to a sprained right ankle. Bryant has started each of Washington's past seven outings despite the team keeping a watchful eye on his minutes as he makes his way back from a knee injury. While the minutes cap has likely kept him on the waiver wire in the vast majority of season-long formats, he has been a solid per minute producer, indicative of the upside that he possesses. With Kristaps Porzingis (knee) already ruled out, an absence from Bryant would pave the way for Daniel Gafford to step into a considerable workload and thereby draw significant DFS appeal.

Thu Feb 17 202222:04Thomas Bryant Limited During Thursday's Game
Washington Wizards center Thomas Bryant (knee) was limited during Thursday's victory over the Brooklyn Nets. The expectation was that Bryant would play between 16-18 minutes in this contest. However, he didn't even get that many minutes in the Wizards victory. Bryant finished with 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists in 14 minutes on Thursday. The Wizards continue to limit Bryant who returned from a torn ACL in mid-January. The addition of Kristaps Porzingis (knee) is also going to hinder Bryant's playing time going forward. At this point, fantasy managers shouldn't expect Bryant to gain much value in the second half. Washington will likely continue to monitor him closely and have multiple other options. That being said, Bryant is likely only going to hold value in deep leagues.
