Sun Mar 1715:16Tommy Pham Nearing Deal With Padres
The San Diego Padres are close to a deal with free-agent outfielder Tommy Pham, according to Bob Nightengale. The expectation is that it'll be a cheap one-year contract. The Padres could use the help in the outfield as this team does lack depth there. Currently, Jurickson Profar is penciled in as the everyday left fielder. The move to get Pham could give the Padres additional options for platoon type situations. Last season, Pham hit .256/.328/.446 with 16 home runs and 68 RBI in 129 games between the New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks. There probably won't be a ton of fantasy value from Pham, but it depends on his role.

Fri Mar 1514:58Pirates, Padres Eyeing Tommy Pham
The San Diego Padres and Pittsburgh Pirates are both eyeing free-agent outfielder Tommy Pham. Pham is one of the top names remaining on the open market after he split the 2023 season between the Mets and Diamondbacks. He was productive in doing so, hitting .256 with 16 home runs and 22 stolen bases across 129 games and 481 trips to the plate. Pham has long displayed a quality combination of power and speed, slugging 130 homers and stealing 119 bases across 1,005 big-league contests. Regardless of his landing spot, he is worth a strong look as a mid-round pick in fantasy baseball as he has also been able to use his speed to score plenty of runs in his career while he also sports a healthy 11.6% career walk rate.

Fri Feb 220:41Red Sox Interested In Tommy Pham
The Boston Red Sox are interested in a reunion with free-agent outfielder Tommy Pham, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman. The Red Sox could use some more offense heading into the 2024 season. Pham spent part of the 2022 season with the Red Sox, hitting .234 (50-for-214) with six home runs and 24 RBI in 53 games. The 35-year-old veteran was better last year between the New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks and had some crucial hits in Arizona's unlikely run to the World Series. He finished the 2023 campaign with a .256/.328/.446 slash line, 16 home runs, 68 RBI, 22 stolen bases and 55 runs scored in 129 regular-season games. Pham still has something left in the tank, although he won't be a lock to return to the 20-steal mark, especially if he lands with a team where he's platooning in the outfield.

Tue Oct 24 202319:32Tommy Pham Remains In The Lineup For Game 7
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Tommy Pham will remain in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's Game 7 against the Philadelphia Phillies. The veteran outfielder will make his second straight start here. It makes sense that the D-Backs would keep Pham in the lineup after he homered in Game 6. The D-Backs will hope his bat stays hot for this win-or-go-home matchup. Pham will bat fifth and play right field versus left-hander Ranger Suarez on Tuesday.

Mon Oct 23 202315:00Tommy Pham Back In Lineup For Game 6
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Tommy Pham is back in the starting lineup for Game 6 of the National League Championship Series on Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies and right-hander Aaron Nola, serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth in the order. Pham didn't make the start in the Game 5 loss on Saturday but will be back in there in a must-win game in Philly. The 35-year-old veteran has been battling through some turf toe and has struggled offensively during the postseason, going 8-for-35 (.229) with a home run, RBI, 11 strikeouts, two stolen bases and six runs scored in nine games. Pham is 1-for-13 with six K's in four games in the NLCS and is a career 1-for-12 with four K's in his career against Nola.

Thu Oct 19 202313:06Tommy Pham To Return To Outfield Duties In Game 3
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Tommy Pham (toe), who has been dealing with turf toe, will start in the outfield for the first time this postseason in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Thursday against the Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Ranger Suarez, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Pham has been serving as Arizona's designated hitter since the end of the regular season, but he'll return to the outfield as the Snakes look to prevent the Phils from taking a three games to none lead in the best-of-seven series. The 35-year-old has gone 0-for-8 with three strikeouts in the first two games of the NLCS, but he's 7-for-22 (.318) with six runs scored in five playoff games this year. Pham is 0-for-2 in his career against Suarez with two walks and a strikeout.

Tue Oct 3 202318:15Tommy Pham Still Dealing With Injury
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Tommy Pham (toe) is reportedly not 100 percent healthy heading into the postseason. The 35-year-old outfielder admitted on Tuesday that he's still dealing with a turf toe issue. Despite the injury, Pham is still in the lineup for Tuesday's Game 1 of the Wild Card round against the Milwaukee Brewers. He'll bat third and serve as the designated hitter versus right-hander Corbin Burnes. The fact he's at DH could mean the toe issue is limiting his ability to play outfield. Regardless, it sounds like he still plans to play through the injury.

Mon Sep 4 202314:30Christian Walker, Tommy Pham Back In The Lineup
Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker (elbow) and outfielder Tommy Pham (finger) are both back in the lineup on Monday to face the visiting Colorado Rockies and right-hander Peter Lambert. Walker is at first base and batting cleanup, while Pham is serving as the designated hitter and batting third in the order. Walker left Saturday's game early following a hit by pitch on his right elbow, but he went deep as a pinch-hitter on Saturday and is now back in the starting lineup. The 32-year-old should be returned to starting fantasy lineups after crushing his 30th homer of the year Sunday. Pham hurt his right pinkie in frustration on Saturday and took the day off on Sunday. Since being acquired in a trade with the Mets, he's gone 24-for-103 (.233) with three homers, 17 RBI and six steals in 26 games for the Snakes.

Thu Aug 3 202315:10Tommy Pham In Three-Hole In Debut With Arizona
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Tommy Pham will serve as the designated hitter and bat third in the order in his D-backs debut on Thursday against left-hander Scott Alexander and the San Francisco Giants. The Snakes landed Pham from the New York Mets on Tuesday in a deadline deal, and he'll give Arizona a bit more pop in either the outfield or at DH the rest of the way as they look to get into the postseason. The move to the desert should be a slight fantasy boost for the 35-year-old veteran, as long as he continues to swing the bat like he did for the Mets to this point in the year. Through 79 games in 2023, Pham is hitting .268/.348/.472 with an .820 OPS, 10 home runs, 15 doubles, a triple, 36 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 29 runs scored in 264 trips to the plate. His power/speed combination still plays in most fantasy leagues.

Tue Aug 1 202319:05Tommy Pham Traded To Diamondbacks
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham was expected to be moved all week long and will now be a last-second deadline move. The 35-year-old is headed to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for 17-year-old shortstop Jeremy Rodriguez. This was probably the best deal the Mets were going to get on the impending free agent. Pham is slashing .268/.348/.472 with 10 home runs, 36 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 63 games. This move gives the D-Backs a slight boost in the outfield for a small price.

Fri Jul 28 202314:39Dodgers Showing Interest In Mark Canha, Tommy Pham
The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to bulk up their roster as they attempt to stay on top of the NL West. That being said, the team is reportedly interested in acquiring outfielders Mark Canha and Tommy Pham from the New York Mets. The Mets are reportedly seeking lower level prospects in return for the veteran outfielders. Canha is slashing .242/.339/.379 with six home runs and 29 RBI in 72 games. Pham is doing better with a .266/.349/.464 slash line with nine home runs, 35 RBI, and 11 steals in 61 games. Both players are set to become free agents at the end of the season.

Thu Jul 27 202316:37Tommy Pham On The Bench Thursday
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham will take the day off on Thursday against the visiting Washington Nationals. In his place, Mark Canha will make the start in left field and hit seventh in the batting order against Nationals right-hander Josiah Gray. Pham has dealt with a nagging groin injury so far in the second half of the season, which might help explain why he has only two hits in 16 at-bats with a double, one RBI, a stolen base and three runs scored in seven games since the All-Star break. The 35-year-old has been decent for the Mets in 2023 with nine home runs, 35 RBI and 11 stolen bases in his 76 games played, and he could be a trade candidate before next Tuesday's deadline. Canha hasn't been much better of late, going 3-for-20 with no home runs or RBI in his last six games.

Wed Jul 26 202316:05Francisco Alvarez, Tommy Pham Back In Mets Lineup
New York Mets rookie catcher Francisco Alvarez (hand) and outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) are both back in the starting lineup on Wednesday against New York Yankees left-hander Carlos Rodon. Alvarez is catching and batting eighth, while Pham is serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth in the Subway Series finale. Alvarez took a pitch off his right hand on Tuesday, but X-rays came back negative and the 21-year-old rookie is back in there the next day. He's been a tremendous asset at the catching position in fantasy in his first full year in the big leagues with 19 home runs and 41 RBI. Pham is back in there for the first time since last Thursday, and he'll be eased back in as the DH. The 35-year-old trade candidate has hit a respectable .271 on the year with nine home runs and 11 stolen bases in 75 games.

Tue Jul 25 202316:27Tommy Pham Not Ready To Return
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday with the team taking on the New York Yankees. Pham was a pinch-hitter in Sunday's series finale against the Boston Red Sox, but he'll have to wait another day to get back into the starting lineup after dealing with a nagging right-groin injury that he's had since just before the All-Star break. Mark Canha is getting another start in left field and will hit eighth against Yankees right-hander Domingo German. Pham is a potential trade piece for the disappointing Mets as the Aug. 1 trade deadline nears, but he needs to get back on the field to boost his trade value. The 35-year-old veteran is batting a solid .271/.355/.472 on the year with nine home runs, 35 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 28 runs scored in 218 at-bats.

Fri Jul 21 202316:18Tommy Pham Not In Lineup Against Boston
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) is not in the starting lineup on Friday as the team takes on the Boston Red Sox. Pham tweaked his right groin in the game on Thursday against the Chicago White Sox and will unsurprisingly sit out this contest. The 35-year-old also tweaked the same side of his groin in the final game of the first half of the season, but he's avoided the injured list for now. The Mets don't expect to put Pham on the injured list, but he could miss more games this weekend. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Mark Canha, who could be a trade candidate this summer, is starting in left field on Friday and is hitting eighth in the batting order against Red Sox right-hander Kutter Crawford.

Thu Jul 20 202316:34Tommy Pham Could Go On Injured List
Updating a previous report, New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) felt his right groin stiffen up on Thursday against the Chicago White Sox and was removed from the game early, according to manager Buck Showalter. The skipper said that Pham could go on the injured list, but he'll go for tests first. Pham tweaked his groin in the final game before the All-Star break but never went on the IL, but the injury has resurfaced and he could need some time off. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to be back in the lineup on Friday against the Boston Red Sox. The 35-year-old veteran went 0-for-2 on Thursday before being removed from the game to drop his season average to .272 with an .831 OPS.

Thu Jul 20 202314:13Tommy Pham Exits Early On Thursday
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham exited Thursday afternoon's game against the Chicago White Sox with what appeared to be a lower-body injury. Pham labored down the line while grounding into a double play to end the bottom of the third inning and was removed from the contest after taking the field in the top half of the fourth inning. Pham has dealt with a groin injury this season but it's unclear if this injury is related in any way. The veteran is hitting .272 with nine home runs and 11 stolen bases across 74 appearances on the season. Luis Guillorme took Pham's spot in the lineup in the two-hole.

Sun Jul 16 202314:55Tommy Pham Remains Out Sunday
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) is out of the lineup for a second consecutive game on Sunday against Bobby Miller and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 35-year-old is suffering from a strained groin, but there's no word on if he'll need a stint on the injured list. Pham's been one of the best surprises in 2023, as he's slashing .271/.347/.476 with nine homers, 25 runs, 34 RBI, and 10 stolen bases across 71 games. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for more updates on his status. Mark Canha will take his place on the field and bat eighth. The veteran doesn't do anything special, but his .340 OBP and career .348 mark keeps him relevant in OBP leagues.

Sat Jul 15 202316:51Tommy Pham To Sit Out On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 35-year-old slugger has been battling a strained groin, so possibly this is the Mets easing him back into action. Regardless, Pham will sit this one out, so DJ Stewart will cover left field and bat seventh versus right-hander Tony Gonsolin on Saturday. The expectation is that Pham will return to the lineup after this day off.

Fri Jul 14 202317:46Tommy Pham Ready To Roll For Second Half
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) is back in the lineup on Friday to face the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers and left-hander Julio Urias for the start of the second half of the season. Pham is serving as the designated hitter and is batting in the two-hole. It looked like the 35-year-old might be headed to the injured list after leaving the first-half finale last Sunday against the San Diego Padres with a right-groin injury, but the All-Star break this week allowed him to heal up. Pham will have a tough matchup right out of the gates in the second half against Urias, a pitcher that he's hitting .250 against in his career with one solo home run in 12 at-bats. Pham had a solid first half for the disappointing Mets and could be a trade candidate leading up to the Aug. 1 deadline.
