Tue Apr 2322:05Luke Kornet Out Again For Game 2
Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet (calf) won't play on Wednesday versus the Heat. The 28-year-old sustained a calf injury at practice and wasn't available for the series opener, with his absence likely to extend at least a few more contests. While Kornet had a semi-consistent role in the rotation during the regular season, head coach Joe Mazzulla only utilized three players outside of the starting lineup in Game 1, so he probably won't do much for DFS managers once he's healthy enough to return.

Sat Apr 2021:50Luke Kornet Out For Game 1
Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet (calf) won't play in Sunday's postseason showdown with the Miami Heat. Kornet holds a semi-regular spot in the rotation, averaging 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks this season. But he's sidelined because of a strained calf, meaning the 28-year-old could miss more time beyond Sunday's contest. Fortunately, Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford are available, so they should absorb most of the minutes at the five. Xavier Tillman Sr. could potentially see the floor. However, Tillman won't play enough to warrant DFS consideration.

Mon Jan 2919:29Kristaps Porzingis, Luke Kornet Won't Suit Up On Monday
Boston Celtics centers Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) and Luke Kornet (hamstring) have both been downgraded to out on Monday and will not play against the New Orleans Pelicans. Originally, Porzingis was questionable while Kornet was doubtful for this contest. This will be Porzingis' second consecutive missed game while Kornet was able to clock 17 minutes in their last game. The good news for the Celtics is that Al Horford was upgraded to active, so he'll likely get the bulk of the minutes at center and will run with the starting five as well. Horford will be the number-one streaming option while Neemias Queta could make an appearance and possibly be streamed in very deep leagues.

Mon Jan 2909:56Luke Kornet Doubtful For Monday's Game
Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet (hamstring) is considered doubtful for Monday's meeting with New Orleans. The seven-footer exited Saturday's contest against the Clippers due to tightness in his left hamstring, and it appears likely that the same issue will keep Kornet completely sidelined on Monday. As the third big on the depth chart, Kornet doesn't get a lot of action, but he has played well, and Boston could really use him on Monday if Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) and Al Horford (neck) can't play. Both are listed as questionable for the contest.

Sat Dec 23 202314:41Luke Kornet Remains Out On Saturday
Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet (adductor) is out again for Saturday's matchup versus the Los Angeles Clippers. The 28-year-old missed his previous five games with a left adductor strain. However, he's averaged just 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds this season, meaning his absence wouldn't have meant much under normal circumstances. But with Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) out, Al Horford should absorb most of the minutes in the middle versus Los Angeles, giving him a higher ceiling in all fantasy formats. Oshae Brissett should also see more work, although not enough to become a trustworthy fantasy asset.

Fri Dec 15 202315:30Al Horford, Luke Kornet Both Ruled Out On Friday
Boston Celtics centers Al Horford (rest) and Luke Kornet (groin) have both been ruled out for the second half of a back-to-back on Friday against the Orlando Magic. Horford is just getting some veteran rest, so he should be back for their next game. Kornet is experiencing left-adductor tightness, so it's unclear if he's going to miss any added time outside of this game. With Kristaps Porzingis (calf) listed as doubtful, the front court is going to be very thin, and the Celtics will likely be forced to go with a very small lineup. Lamar Stevens, Sam Hauser, Neemias Queta, and Oshae Brissett will all see some more time in this contest.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Fri Sep 30 202221:24Luke Kornet Likely To Miss Two Weeks
Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet (ankle) will be sidelined one to two weeks due to a recent injury. The 27-year-old suffered a sprained ankle, which is bad timing in the middle of training camp. The Celtics recently added Blake Griffin to the mix, so Kornet wasn't going to see major minutes anyway. The Celtics are attempting to ease the loss of Robert Williams III (knee) with the signing of Griffin. Possibly, Kornet gets in the mix as well once he's healthy. However, it's unlikely that either Kornet or Griffin have great value in Boston.

Sun Jul 3 202216:38Luke Kornet Returns To Celtics On Two-Year Deal
Center Luke Kornet will head back to the Boston Celtics on a two-year contract, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. Kornet appeared in 12 regular-season contests with the Celtics down the stretch, averaging just 2.2 points and 2.1 boards across 7.1 minutes per game. The 7'2" big man previously made 18 appearances (two starts) with the team in 2020-21, and he serves as valuable frontcourt depth behind Robert Williams III and Al Horford. While Kornet isn't likely to have any season-long appeal, he could land on the DFS radar on nights where the team is short-handed at center.
