Sun Aug 4 201309:45DeShawn Stevenson wants to sign w/ the Heat
Free agent DeShawn Stevenson wrote on Saturday, "Miami Heat Where I Wanna Go!!!"
He followed that up by asking LeBron to "make it happen," which is ironic since Stevenson, as a member of the Mavericks in 2011, called LBJ "overrated" (and wore a T-shirt after the Finals which read, "Hey LeBron! How's My Dirk Taste?"). Stevenson's ailing knee kept him out of back-to-back games last year, but he should have enough gas in the tank to earn a one-year minimum deal in Miami or somewhere else.

Fri Aug 2 201317:12DeShawn Stevenson waived by Hawks
Hawks waived SG DeShawn Stevenson.
Stevenson appeared in 56 games for the Hawks last season, averaging 5.1 points while playing 20.7 minutes a night. He had two years and roughly $4.4 million remaining on his contract, so expect the buyout to be around that amount. Stevenson is known as a defensive stopper, but his offensive ineptitude will keep his market cool. Over the last four seasons, he's shot 34.6 percent (321-of-927) from the field.

Stevenson doesn't play on both sides of back-to-backs anyway, so he'll rest in this one. He could be back for his usual 15-20 minutes in Wednesday's regular-season finale. Jeff Teague, Devin Harris and John Jenkins will form that Hawks' three-guard rotation Tuesday.

Sat Mar 9 201321:43DeShawn Stevenson returns to action vs. BKN
DeShawn Stevenson (knees) was scoreless in 13 minutes vs. the Nets on Saturday.
The Hawks threw a bit of a curveball this weekend, benching DeShawn on Friday in the first game of a back-to-back set. He shouldn't be in fantasy lineups, regardless of his availability, and we anticipate a few more random DNPs in the coming five weeks.

Fri Mar 1 201321:24DeShawn Stevenson dislocates finger
DeShawn Stevenson dislocated his left middle finger against in Friday's game and he is expected to return.
The X-rays were negative and he shouldn't miss much time. Stevenson is more of a role player and since he sits out to rest quite a bit, there's not much reason to pick him up in almost any league.

Mon Feb 25 201322:48DeShawn Stevenson scores seven in start
DeShawn Stevenson got a start a shooting guard on Monday, scoring seven points with one board, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.
He doesn't get consistent minutes and coach Larry Drew has a tendency to rest Stevenson due to his ailing back and knee. He's not worth owning in the vast majority of leagues.

Fri Feb 8 201311:10DeShawn Stevenson out again on Friday
DeShawn Stevenson (knee) will not play again on Friday, and Anthony Tolliver will again start in his place.
Stevenson has had knee issues all season, so this is par for the course with the veteran swingman. Tolliver had eight points (two three's), seven boards and a block in 28.5 minutes in his last one, so he could be an option for owners in deeper formats who need help.

Wed Feb 6 201319:04DeShawn Stevenson out Wednesday night
DeShawn Stevenson (knee) will not play Wednesday and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Anthony Tolliver.
Stevenson hasn't played in both sets of a back-to-back all season as the Hawks try to limit the wear and tear on his knee. When he is in the lineup, Stevenson has topped 20 minutes just three times in the Hawks' last 17 games and has almost no fantasy value. Despite the start, Tolliver's value is limited by his minimal role and is only worth a spot start in the deepest of leagues.
