Newby posted a promising 2.40 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 74/22 K/BB ratio in 56 1/3 innings this past season in the Orioles' minor league system. The 27-year-old right-hander has never pitched above the Triple-A level. |

Newby, who turns 27 in February, posted a 4.26 ERA and 99/44 K/BB ratio over 118 1/3 innings as a starter and reliever this past season between Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Reno. He'll provide some pitching depth in the minors. |
