Wed Apr 1018:11Trae Young Returning With Minutes Restriction
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (finger) will rejoin the lineup on Wednesday against Charlotte but will carry a minutes restriction. It's unclear how many minutes he will get in his first action in 24 games, but the team will be delighted to see him back, with the play-in tournament starting next week. Young's return eases playmaking duties on Dejounte Murray, and Bogdan Bogdanovic should eventually land back with the second unit. The Serbian sniper will likely still remain with the starters on Wednesday, as a number of regulars are out.

Wed Apr 1013:49Trae Young Upgraded To Questionable
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (finger) is officially listed as questionable for Wednesday's meeting with the Charlotte Hornets. It's an upgrade for Young, who is nearing a return and has been out since undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his finger on Feb. 25. The Hawks hold the final East Play-In spot, so Young's return would give him a chance to ramp up his playing time ahead of the postseason. The 25-year-old three-time All-Star is averaging 26.4 points, 10.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 3.3 three-pointers in 36.5 minutes over 51 games for Atlanta in 2023-24. Young would likely face some form of minutes restriction following a lengthy absence, but there's plenty of DFS appeal in a matchup between two of the league's five worst defenses in terms of efficiency rating. Dejounte Murray's (quad) fantasy value would take a hit if Young indeed suits up on Wednesday.

Sun Feb 2514:34Trae Young Out At Least A Month
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (finger) will miss at least four weeks. The 25-year-old had been listed as questionable heading into Sunday's meeting with Orlando. However, he was downgraded to out just a few hours later, so many had assumed things weren't looking good. Unfortunately, it was revealed on Sunday that he suffered a ligament tear in his left pinkie and will now undergo surgery on Tuesday. It's not good news for fantasy managers, especially since Young has missed only a handful of games this season. But now that he's out of the equation, Dejounte Murray will presumably take over most of the duties at the one spot while also seeing a bump in usage. There's also room for De'Andre Hunter, who's averaged 20 points in two games without Young active this season, to get more involved on the scoring end. Also, fantasy managers are already anticipating an uptick in production from guys like Bogdan Bogdanovic and Jalen Johnson moving ahead.

Sat Feb 2422:52Trae Young Now Out On Sunday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (finger) won't play on Sunday versus the Orlando Magic. The exact nature of the injury remains a mystery. However, the multi-time All-Star was questionable earlier in the day on Saturday, so it's apparent the issue is more severe than initially believed. Nonetheless, fantasy managers will hope for the best. But until Young returns to the lineup, Dejounte Murray is the favorite to lead the way for the Hawks offensively. Additionally, Jalen Johnson, Saddiq Bey, and Bogdan Bogdanovic should also benefit from a production standpoint.

Sat Feb 2418:50Trae Young May Not Play On Sunday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (finger) is questionable for Sunday's game against Orlando. He scored only 11 points on Friday night and suffered a thigh injury during the contest. However, a finger issue that might keep him off the floor on Sunday night. Young has missed only five games this season. But if he can't suit up, Dejounte Murray would be a lock for all fantasy lineups. At the same time, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Saddiq Bey, and Jalen Johnson would also benefit.

Tue Feb 2006:00Trae Young Remains Committed To Hawks
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young has steered himself clear of trade rumors and wants to remain on the team. "It's this type of league where things change and happen, but obviously, my mindset is staying in Atlanta right now. I don't get caught up in the rumors and all that stuff, my contract is locked in for a couple of years, and I don't have very much to say about it right now," Young told Jameelah Johnson of atlhawksfans.com. From a personal perspective, Young is having another fantastic season, but Atlanta is on track to a losing record and missing the playoffs, which definitely isn't a pleasant situation for the star point guard or the team. This is the second season of a five-year, $215 million extension Young signed with the Hawks in 2021.

Fri Jan 2610:07Trae Young Tagged As Questionable On Friday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (concussion protocol) has received the questionable tag for the Friday night game against the Dallas Mavericks. He still hasn't fully cleared concussion protocol just yet, so fantasy managers will have to wait and see if he can get through it before tipoff on Friday. In the two games that he's missed so far, the Hawks have suffered a 15-point and 22-point loss during a mini west coast swing. Missing their star guard who's averaging 26.9 points and 10.8 assists per game is always hard to overcome. If he misses his third consecutive game, Dejounte Murray will receive a bump in usage again while Bogdan Bogdanovic should remain in the starting lineup.

Wed Jan 2412:08Trae Young Out With Concussion
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (concussion) has been ruled out for the team's Wednesday game against the Golden State Warriors. The star point guard suffered a concussion against the Cavaliers on January 20th and missed the last game while in the concussion protocol. Remaining in protocol on Wednesday, Dejounte Murray and Bogdan Bogdanovic are expected to be the starting backcourt in Young's absence. Both players are likely to experience a significant increase in usage with Young out, providing ample opportunities for production. Young has been averaging 26.8 points and 10.8 assists in 36 minutes per game this season.

Tue Jan 2321:49Trae Young Ruled Out For Wednesday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. Young is set to miss his second game in a row as he remains in the league's concussion protocol. Dejounte Murray figures to remain in the starting five, with Bogdan Bogdanovic starting alongside him. Both players are going to have increased usage and fantasy value while Young is sidelined. It wouldn't be shocking to see Young miss more time, so fantasy managers should adjust their lineups accordingly.

Sun Jan 2115:26Trae Young Sidelined Indefinitely
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (head) was diagnosed with a concussion and is sidelined indefinitely. The 25-year-old didn't suit up for Friday's one-point win over the Miami Heat because of an illness. However, he returned for Saturday's meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers, although he exited midway through the fourth quarter after accidentally getting hit in the face by Isaac Okoro. The 2018 No. 5 overall pick is averaging 26.9 points, 10.8 assists, and 1.4 steals this season, so he'll be tough to replace. But until Young is back in the equation, Dejounte Murray, assuming he remains on the roster, should handle most of the ball-handling duties. At the same time, Jalen Johnson and Bogdan Bogdanovic could benefit in all statistical categories, especially on the scoring end.

Sat Jan 2019:19Trae Young Good To Go On Saturday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (illness) will play on Saturday versus the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 25-year-old has been under the weather, and he wasn't in the lineup for Friday's win over the Miami Heat. However, he is good to go, so he can be added back to all fantasy lineups. Young has played well against Cleveland over the years, averaging 26.4 points, 9.4 assists, and 2.9 rebounds, meaning he should also draw strong consideration from DFS participants.

Sat Jan 2017:41Trae Young Could Miss Second Consecutive Game
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (illness) is questionable for Saturday's matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Young didn't play in Friday's win over the Miami Heat, opening the door for Dejounte Murray, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Jalen Johnson to lead the way on the scoring end. But with Bogdanovic also uncertain for Saturday's game because of right ankle soreness, Murray and Johnson could get even more scoring chances. At the same time, there's room for Saddiq Bey and Clint Capela to see an uptick in fantasy production.

Fri Jan 1912:43Trae Young Out With Illness Friday
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (illness) will miss the team's Friday matchup with the Heat in Miami. The star point guard will miss his first game since December 8th, where Bogdan Bogdanovic moved into the starting lineup, and Patty Miles saw increased run off the bench. Wesley Matthews (calf) has also been ruled out for Atlanta, meaning Garrison Matthews could see some minutes as he's played at least 13 minutes in each of the last six games Matthews missed. Young will look to recover tonight and return to action against Cleveland on Saturday.

Sat Jan 1317:06Trae Young Expected To Play Against Washington
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (calf) is expected to play on Saturday against the Washington Wizards. The 25-year-old has been on and off the injury report this season. However, he hasn't missed a game in over a month. Still, if the calf contusion keeps him off the floor, Dejounte Murray (hamstring) would likely handle things at the one. But Murray is questionable, so if he isn't available, Trent Forrest and Patty Mills could see more minutes. On the other hand, Jalen Johnson, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Saddiq Bey would presumably lead the way on the scoring end.

Wed Jan 1010:00Trae Young Probable For Wednesday
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (shoulder) is seen as probable for Wednesday's home game against Philadelphia. The Hawks star sprained his right shoulder a while back but has been pushing through the injury and even logged a season-high 42 minutes last time out against Orlando. It appears safe to assume that he will remain in the lineup Wednesday. Young has posted 10 double-doubles in his previous 13 appearances, and whilst meetings with Philadelphia haven't been very productive for point guards this season, Young was also in double-double form in his only previous clash with the Sixers this season. He posted 22 points and 13 assists in the matchup in an in-season tournament game on Nov. 17.

Sun Dec 31 202314:51Trae Young Available Against Washington
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (knee) will play on Sunday against Washington. The 25-year-old appeared on the injury report because of a right knee contusion. However, he's good to go, much to the relief of fantasy managers. Young has had an All-Star season through his first 29 games of the 2023-24 campaign. But he is averaging 24.5 points, 10.0 assists, and 2.0 steals while shooting 54.5% from deep in two meetings with the Wizards this year, making him an even more enticing fantasy prospect.

Sat Dec 30 202321:01Trae Young Tagged As Probable For Sunday
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (knee) is listed as probable for Sunday's matchup against the Washington Wizards. Young suffered a right knee contusion during Friday's game, but is expected to play through the issue. If Young sits out, Dejounte Murray would probably shift over to the point guard spot. He'd have increased value as the primary ball handler and would likely have more scoring chances. Bogdan Bogdanovic would be the favorite to move into the starting five where he'd have increased value as well. However, it sounds like Young will be out there, barring any pregame setbacks.

Tue Dec 26 202318:51Trae Young, Jalen Johnson Available Against Bulls
Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (shoulder) and forward Jalen Johnson (wrist) are both available on Tuesday versus the Chicago Bulls. Young and Johnson were reportedly at Tuesday morning's shootaround, putting the two on course to be active. Young should have no restrictions with a right shoulder AC sprain, after the double-double machine notched 30 points and 13 assists in 41 minutes Saturday. The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Monday that Johnson would return Tuesday, but it may not be fair to expect a full workload following a 14-game absence due to a fractured left wrist. But with De'Andre Hunter (knee) likely sidelined multiple weeks, Johnson could be thrust into a larger role sooner than expected. The 2021 first-rounder'a breakout sees averages of 14.1 points on 59.4% field-goal shooting, 7.3 rebounds, 1.1 threes, and 2.1 combined steals and blocks. Saddiq Bey has the most to lose here.

Tue Dec 26 202310:00Trae Young Questionable Tuesday
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (shoulder) is questionable for Tuesday's action against Chicago. The Hawks star has played some incredible basketball lately but could be out of the lineup for the third time this season due to a shoulder sprain. Young has posted seven consecutive 30-point double-doubles. A meeting with the Bulls would be a stern test for Young's form, as Chicago has allowed the fewest points in the league to point guards this season. Assuming Young is out, Bogdan Bogdanovic should hop into the starting unit, and Dejounte Murray will get more playmaking duties.

Wed Dec 13 202309:35Trae Young Probable Wednesday
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (shoulder) is listed as probable for Wednesday's matchup against Toronto. He's dealing with soreness in his right shoulder but is expected to be good to go. Young should be fired up for the contest as well after being tossed for picking up two technical fouls on Monday versus the Nuggets. Toronto boasts decent defensive numbers against points guards but has allowed the fourth-most assists per 48 minutes to opposing ones.
