Fri Feb 1610:17Collin Sexton Scores 35 Points Against Warriors
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton put up a season-high in a three-point loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night. Before everyone headed into the NBA All-Star break, Sexton decided to drop 35 points, nine assists, three rebounds, one steal, one rebound, and three turnovers on 10-for-18 shooting overall, 3-for-8 from deep, and 12-for-13 from the free throw line. Sexton has finally started to look a little more like he did in Cleveland before he got hurt and then traded. He's now averaging 17.9 points, 4.6 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 made threes, and 1.9 turnovers per game. He has almost cracked the top 100 in terms of per-game fantasy value in nine-category leagues.

Wed Aug 23 202310:14Collin Sexton's Role Unclear Ahead Of New Campaign
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton missed a large chunk of last season with health issues, and it's unclear where he fits in the team's plans ahead of the new campaign. Sarah Todd of The Deseret News has noted that there's fierce competition for the starting point guard spot in Utah, and Sexton needs to improve his game if he wants to lock down a position there. "If the Jazz have plans of playing Sexton as a point guard, we still need to see some improvement from him as a decision-maker and distributor," Todd wrote. Todd also questions whether Sexton's skillset is good enough to be the starting shooting guard. The former top-10 pick was mostly used off the bench last season, and Sexton averaged 14.3 points and 2.9 assists in 23.9 minutes. He boosted his numbers to 16.5 points and 4.8 assists as a starter in 15 games.

Tue Jun 20 202318:44Collin Sexton Is Available In Trade Discussions
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton has reportedly been made available in trade discussions this offseason. The 24-year-old has battled some major injury issues over the last two seasons as he's only played a total of 59 games out of a possible 164. As reported by Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Jazz have thrown his name into discussions after he was the centerpiece of the Donovan Mitchell trade just one year ago. Now, they'll look to flip him into a better supporting piece for their surprisingly good squad.

Sat Apr 8 202313:12Collin Sexton Ruled Out Against Denver
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) won't suit up on Saturday versus the Nuggets. The 24-year-old played one game since the All-Star break because of a hamstring injury. Considering Utah has nothing left to play for, Sexton's season is probably finished. Nevertheless, Kris Dunn, coming off a team-high 22 points against OKC on Thursday night, will be an ideal DFS option, especially with Lauri Markkanen (hand), Kelly Olynyk (rest), and Talen Horton-Tucker (ankle) also sitting.

Tue Apr 4 202316:54Collin Sexton Available To Return On Tuesday
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) has been made available on Tuesday for the first time since Feb. 15. The young combo guard has missed a little more than a month due to a bad hamstring and seems like he can finally come back to play the final few games remaining this season. He would likely come off of the bench just to get some repetitions in, while Ochai Agbaji and Kris Dunn would take a hit to their fantasy value if Sexton plays more than just a handful of minutes.

Sat Mar 25 202315:57Collin Sexton Remains Out Versus Sacramento
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) remains out ahead of Saturday's clash with Sacramento. The 24-year-old has missed over a month because of a hamstring strain. While he is apparently trending in the right direction regarding his rehab efforts, he's still not ready to return. Of course, with Utah on the verge of not making the playoffs, there's a chance Sexton won't be back this season. However, only time will tell. In the meantime, Talen Horton-Tucker should remain a top ball-handler, which is good news for fantasy managers.

Mon Mar 6 202318:28Collin Sexton To Miss Another Week
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) is expected to miss at least one more week. He hasn't appeared in a game since the last day before the All-Star break which was February 15. He'll now miss at least three more games while he recovers from a left hamstring strain. Talen Horton-Tucker will remain in the starting five, but has struggled recently. That being said, he's a somewhat risky fantasy option right now. Kris Dunn has surprisingly been decent and could be a possible deep league option while Sexton is out.

Mon Feb 27 202318:37Collin Sexton To Be Evaluated In One Week
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) is set to be re-evaluated in one week. The 24-year-old has already been sidelined for two weeks, so it sounds like he'll miss at least one more week. His absence means that Talen Horton-Tucker should remain in the starting five going forward. He has averaged 14 points over the last two games, so he's worth a look as a streaming option in the short term. Ochai Agbaji and Kris Dunn should see bigger roles as well, but Horton-Tucker remains the better fantasy option.

Sat Feb 25 202300:21Collin Sexton Sidelined Again On Saturday
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) is out for Saturday's meeting with the Spurs. The 24-year-old has a left hamstring strain, an injury he picked up before the All-Star break. That said, Sexton is due to be re-evaluated on Monday, so assuming everything checks out, there's a chance he could be back soon. However, Talen Horton-Tucker, who has averaged 14 points in two starts this season, should remain in the starting lineup until Sexton is ready to return.

Wed Feb 22 202319:06Collin Sexton To Be Re-Evaluated Monday
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) will be re-evaluated on Monday and has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Jazz also play on Saturday so it is likely Sexton will remain out for that game as well. Jordan Clarkson and Talen Horton-Tucker should see increased roles with Sexton still sidelined.

Thu Feb 16 202314:45Collin Sexton Picks Up A Hamstring Injury
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton managed to log only four minutes in Wednesday's matchup against Minnesota, exiting the game with a left hamstring problem. Sexton's injury resulted in Ochai Agbaji logging 39 minutes in his second career start and Talen Horton-Tucker's re-emergence continued with an impressive 17-7-7 line off the bench in 32 minutes. With the All-Star break coming up, Sexton will get a full week to recover, but if it's a major issue for him, the likes of Agbaji and Horton-Tucker could find themselves playing very important roles in the rotation.

Sat Feb 11 202307:06Collin Sexton Fills Stat Sheet In Start
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton put together one of the strongest performances of the season in Friday's 122-116 win in Toronto, racking up 22 points, five rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks. Sexton typically doesn't do much else besides scoring, so this outstanding all-around performance must have been very pleasing for fantasy managers. He played 37 minutes in his 12th start of the campaign and shot 8-for-14 from the field and 6-for-7 at the foul line. Following the departures of Mike Conley and Malik Beasley, Sexton has a clear pathway to regular minutes and should be the starting point guard for the rest of the season now, which is a major boost for his fantasy stock. He has averaged 17.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists as a starter this season.

Fri Feb 10 202309:25Navigating The Clippers Trade Deadline Moves - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the heat of the congested Western Conference playoff race and were one of the more active franchises during Thursday's trade deadline. The Clippers had some glaring needs, specifically at the point guard position, and needed to surround their star forwards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, with more talent to compete in the loaded Western Conference. The Clippers were able to execute three separate trades on Thursday. First off, the Clippers were able to secure Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets for a couple of second-round picks. Then, they set their eyes on veteran guard Eric Gordon in a three-team trade, sending off John Wall to the Houston Rockets and Luke Kennard to the Memphis Grizzlies. Lastly, the Clippers moved ... Thu Feb 9 202322:16Russell Westbrook Traded To Jazz - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Russell Westbrook experiment in Los Angeles has been less than ideal over the past two years and has officially come to an end. With the West stocking up everywhere, the Lakers knew they had to make a splash in order to make a push to the playoffs. The Lakers executed a three-team trade with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves, involving a total of eight players and multiple draft picks Wednesday night. The Lakers sent Russell Westbrook, Juan Tuscano-Anderson, and Damian Jones to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt while also acquiring D'Angelo Russell from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Jazz also sent Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker to the Timberwolves while accumulating even more draft capital. So just what is the fantasy basketball fallout of this blockbuster trade? Let's examine how each of the teams and players in the deal may be affected going forward.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Russell Westbrook

Westbrook is expected to be bought out from Utah and enter free agency. There are already rumors of teams interested in the veteran point guard, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, and Chicago Bulls. If Westbrook were to be claimed, he would likely be given a prominent role immediately given these three teams are all lacking in the point guard position. Westbrook's caveat has always been his personality fit so it remains to be seen how well he can mesh with his new team if he is claimed.

Fantasy Basketball Fallout: Lakers

The Lakers get some much-needed spacing and size with the additions of Russell, Beasley, and Vanderbilt. Russell is shooting a career-high 39.1 percent from three while averaging 17.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this season. Russell should absorb Westbrook's minutes and will likely start at point guard over ... [More]
Sat Jan 14 202319:24Collin Sexton To Rest On Saturday
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (rest) has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 24-year-old returned to the rotation on Friday, so it's not shocking to see him sitting out the second leg of the back-to-back set. Veteran guard Mike Conley (rest) will return to the rotation and help fill the void with Sexton sidelined. Nickeil Alexander-Walker should see an expanded role with Sexton sidelined. He has been worth streaming when the Jazz are banged up, but might not see a huge role with Conley healthy. Fantasy managers in 12-team formats should be able to find a better option than Alexander-Walker for Saturday's slate.

Fri Jan 13 202320:04Collin Sexton Returns With A Minutes Limit
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) will make a return to the lineup Friday versus Orlando but will have a minutes restriction. He has missed the past five games with a right hamstring injury. Sexton's debut campaign in Salt Lake City hasn't gone too well, with him stuck in a reserve role and averaging only 24 minutes. He has recorded 14.1 points per game with 2.9 assists. His numbers have jumped to 17.1 points and 4.9 assists in the rare starts he has received, so Sexton's fantasy value gets a nice boost when he has an opportunity to join the starting squad.

Tue Jan 10 202317:36Collin Sexton To Remain Sidelined On Tuesday Versus Cleveland
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) will miss another game due to injury maintenance on his right hamstring. Tuesday marks his fifth consecutive game missed due to the hamstring issue and there doesn't seem to be a firm timetable for his return. While he's been out, Malik Beasley, Ochai Agbaji, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker have all seen some added minutes off of the bench. Beasley would likely be the safer streaming option, but the other two could help in deeper leagues.

Wed Jan 4 202320:32Collin Sexton To Miss Thursday's Game
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) is listed as out for Thursday's game against the Houston Rockets. Sexton played in five straight games before sitting out of Tuesday's loss to the Sacramento Kings. The 24-year-old will miss his second straight game to what the team is calling right hamstring injury maintenance. Malik Beasley will be asked to handle a bulk of the playing time with Nickeil Alexander-Walker getting extended minutes as well. Beasley is likely rostered in most fantasy formats, but should be snagged if available in any right now. Alexander-Walker could be worth streaming as a deep league option until Sexton is back.

Thu Dec 22 202219:52Collin Sexton Will Suit Up Thursday
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) will suit up for Thursday's game against the Washington Wizards. The 23-year-old will return to action after missing the last seven games due to a hamstring strain. Nickeil Alexander-Walker has been seeing an expanded role, but Sexton is expected to take away those minutes. That being said, Alexander-Walker won't be an appealing streaming option with Sexton healthy. The expectation is that Sexton will be limited during his first game back. Although, it shouldn't take him long to get back to full speed.

Wed Dec 21 202220:18Collin Sexton Questionable Against The Wizards
Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (hamstring) is questionable for Thursday's matchup with the Washington Wizards. The 23-year-old has missed his previous seven games because of a hamstring strain. However, it appears he's at least moving in the right direction toward making his return. Sexton had been playing well while filling in Mike Conley in the starting lineup before his injury. That said, the former Cav could see a minutes cap from off the bench even if he suits up, so his fantasy upside may be extremely limited.
