Tue Mar 7 202318:05Hamidou Diallo Likely Done For The Season
Detroit Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo (ankle) has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 ankle sprain and will be out for at least three to four weeks. Diallo suffered the injury on Monday after playing 27 minutes, and an MRI revealed the injury, effectively ending his season. Diallo was a consistent option for the Pistons this season and will enter free agency at the end of the year. Alec Burks, Cory Joseph and R.J. Hampton should all see increased value for the remainder of the season.

Tue Mar 7 202308:50Hamidou Diallo Hurts Right Ankle Monday
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Hamidou Diallo rolled his right ankle in Monday's defeat to Portland and it's unclear if he can play in Tuesday's matchup against Washington. He was seen leaving the arena wearing a walking boot. Diallo had a busy 27-minute night against the Blazers, shooting 4-for-10 from the field en route to finishing with nine points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal. The Pistons have already suffered a number of other injuries in recent times and it's lifted Diallo into a significant role in the rotation. Across his last nine appearances, the 24-year-old has averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals.

Mon Jan 30 202318:52Hamidou Diallo Ruled Out For Monday
Detroit Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. The 24-year-old was a late addition to the injury report due to a non-COVID related illness. This is a shame because Diallo was playing very well over the last two weeks. He has been providing 6th-round value in 9-cat formats over that span. His minutes will likely be split up by Alec Burks on the other guards in the rotation. That being said, Diallo's absence won't have much of an impact in fantasy hoops.

Tue Jun 28 202218:23Pistons Exercise Team Option On Hamidou Diallo
Detroit Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo will be back with the organization next season. As expected, the Pistons have decided to exercise their $5.2 million team option on Diallo. He has been a solid piece for Detroit, so the team wants to keep him around. It'll be interesting to see how they split up the playing time with multiple young guards on the roster. Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey are expected to play heavy minutes with Killian Hayes and Diallo getting the backup minutes. Diallo should have fairly decent streaming value, assuming he can carve out a role for himself next season.

Mon Jun 27 202216:30Pistons Expected To Keep Hamidou Diallo
Detroit Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo is likely to remain with the team for at least one more season. Diallo was traded to Detroit mid-way through the 2020 campaign. He has played fairly well and is expected to be part of the young core in Detroit. The team option is worth $5.2 million, so very affordable for what Diallo brings to the court. He doesn't bring much in terms of fantasy value. However, he is a solid defender and could be a long term piece for this organization.

Mon Mar 14 202219:00Hamidou Diallo Remains Unavailable For Tuesday’s Game
Detroit Pistons shooting guard/small forward Hamidou Diallo (finger) has been ruled out for Tuesday's contest vs. the Heat as he continues to battle a sprained finger on his left hand. Diallo has now missed four of Detroit's last five games, funneling Isaiah Livers into a larger role among the second unit. With Killian Hayes (abductor) expected to be available, the second-year guard should be in line for an expanded role for as long as Diallo is out of the mix. Having exceeded the 20-minute threshold just twice since Feb. 16, Diallo's season-long stock is on the descent over the final month. His next chance to suit up comes Thursday against Orlando.

Thu Mar 10 202219:28Isaiah Stewart, Hamidou Diallo Out On Friday
Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart (knee) and forward Hamidou Diallo (finger) have been ruled out for Friday's game against the Boston Celtics. Stewart has a bone bruise in his knee and he is set to be re-evaluated mid-next week. Diallo, meanwhile, has a sprained left index finger. Marvin Bagley III benefits the most from Stewart's absence. He played 36 minutes in the game where Stewart got hurt and wound up going for 19 points and 10 boards. The following game, he made his first start as a Piston and compiled 10 points and six rebounds while battling foul trouble. Diallo's absence should pave the way for more minutes for rookie Isaiah Livers and we could also see Rodney McGruder get more run as well.

Mon Mar 7 202217:54Hamidou Diallo Out With Illness On Monday
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Hamidou Diallo (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks due to a non-COVID illness. The team will also be without Frank Jackson (spine) for the game. With both players sidelined, Cory Joseph could see a bump in playing time. We also may see Rodney McGruder get some extra run. However, neither player offers much value in fantasy. Diallo hasn't been much of a fantasy asset himself lately. Over three games in March, he's averaged 7.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while playing 15.7 minutes per contest.

Tue Mar 1 202217:39Hamidou Diallo, Frank Jackson Will Suit Up Tuesday
Detroit Pistons shooting guards Hamidou Diallo (ankle) and Frank Jackson (back) have been given the green light to take the floor for Tuesday's game against Washington. Diallo ultimately did not miss any games due to the ankle ailment, as he is set to reclaim his role as a significant contributor among Detroit's second unit. Jackson is back in action after a five-game stint on the sidelines, with both players likely to cut into the other's DFS appeal. Diallo remains the more appealing play due to having averaged 13.9 PPG over his last 10 outings, although all Pistons are set to benefit from playing a Wizards group that ranks in the bottom third of the league in defensive efficiency.

Tue Mar 1 202215:05Hamidou Diallo Upgraded To Questionable
Detroit Pistons forward Hamidou Diallo (ankle) has been upgraded to questionable for Tuesday's game against the Washington Wizards. He was previously listed as doubtful, but appears to have a good chance of suiting up here. Diallo has been providing 10th round value over the last two weeks. He's certainly worth rostering in most fantasy formats, assuming he's still available. Possibly, the return of Frank Jackson means less minutes for Diallo, but he'll still remain valuable.

Mon Feb 28 202217:16Hamidou Diallo Doubtful For Tuesday's Contest
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Hamidou Diallo (ankle) is listed as doubtful ahead of Tuesday night's game against the Washington Wizards. The fourth-year pro is dealing with a left ankle sprain. Meanwhile, Frank Jackson (spine) and Marvin Bagley III (ankle) are questionable for the game. If all three players wind up sitting, we'll likely see a heavy workload fall on Saddiq Bey's plate. Rodney McGruder and Isaiah Livers could also see a bump in minutes on Tuesday.

Mon Dec 27 202113:53Hamidou Diallo Scores Game-High 28 Points In Loss
Detroit Pistons shooting guard Hamidou Diallo erupted for a season-high 28 points during a 144-109 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. The 23-year-old shot an efficient, 13-for-19 from the field, including 1-for-2 behind the arc, and 1-for-5 from the line. The Kentucky product also added three boards, two assists, three steals, a block, and seven turnovers across 39 minutes. With eight Pistons players in health and safety protocols, Diallo saw his fourth straight game of 30-plus minutes. Until some of those players return, Diallo is a solid streaming option capable of filling the box score with efficiency from the field.

Thu Aug 19 202122:01Hamidou Diallo Returns To Pistons On Two-Year Deal
Detroit Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo agreed to a two-year, $10.4 million deal to return to the club on Thursday. The 23-year-old averaged 11.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and shot 46.8% from the field in 20 games with the Pistons after being acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. It'll be interesting to see if Diallo can elevate his game in an extra category or two, as he didn't crack 1.0 3PM, under 65% from the free throw line, or provide much on the defensive side of the ball. The Pistons also added the number overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft in Cade Cunningham, crowding the competition at the guard spots.

Tue May 4 202122:52Hornets hold on for crucial 102-99 win over Pistons
DETROIT (AP) — LaMelo Ball scored 23 points, including two free throws with 5.8 seconds left, and the Charlotte Hornets took another step toward the postseason with a 102-99 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night. Detroit trailed by two when rookie Killian Hayes was fouled with 9.4 seconds remaining, but he made just one of two free throws. Ball made his free throws at the other end, and Hayes missed a last-second 3-pointer. Hamidou Diallo scored a career-high 35 points for Detroit. The Hornets are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference and are in solid shape to make it at least to the play-in round. They are two games behind seventh-place Boston. “Every game’s important late in the season,” Charlotte's Terry Rozier said. “Melo came in and put us on his back.” Charlotte was without Miles Bridges, who was out because of health and safety protocols. “I don’t know the extent, the days. We have not confirmed that yet," coach James Borrego said before the game. “What that means,... [More]

Fri Mar 12 202121:37AP Source: Pistons acquiring Diallo for Mykhailiuk, pick
DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Pistons have agreed to trade Svi Mykhailiuk and a 2027 second-round draft pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard Hamidou Diallo, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Friday night because the deal had not been announced. The 22-year-old Diallo is averaging a career-best 11.9 points this season. The 6-foot-7 Mykhailiuk, who is 23, is averaging 6.9 points. It's another step in a drastic roster overhaul for Detroit under new general manager Troy Weaver, who was previously an executive for the Thunder. Only one player who appeared in a game for the Pistons last season is still on the roster — 20-year-old Sekou Doumbouya. Detroit recently traded Derrick Rose and bought out Blake Griffin. Thu Jan 21 202116:39Gilgeous-Alexander helping young Thunder defy odds again
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Some Thunder fans believe tanking to get higher draft picks is the way back to contention. Apparently, the team disagrees. Oklahoma City was expected by experts to be one of the NBA’s worst teams this season -- just like last season, when they shocked the league and made the playoffs. Once again, the Thunder are defying the odds. Oklahoma City is off to a 6-7 start, despite five of its top seven scorers having been in the league three years or fewer and 35-year-old Mark Daigneault taking on his first NBA head coaching assignment. Last year, the Thunder had veterans Chris Paul, Dennis Schroder, Steven Adams and Danilo Gallinari to help them through the tough times. This year, young holdovers Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, Darius Bazley and Hamidou Diallo carry more of the load. And they clearly are out to win, even with losses offering a potentially greater return on the slew of draft picks general manager Sam Presti has collected through trades in recent years. “We’re... Mon Nov 25 201922:47Thunder’s Diallo out 4-to-6 weeks with sprained right elbow
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Oklahoma City guard Hamidou Diallo will be sidelined for four to six weeks with a hyperextension sprain in his right elbow, a tough setback for the second-year player after he had just returned from a knee injury.Yet as soon as Diallo is healthy again, the Thunder plan to put him right back into the rotation.“I feel bad for him just as I do for Andre (Roberson) or any of these guys,” coach Billy Donovan said. “... I think for Hami, going through what he went through last year, in the rotation, out of the rotation, down in the G League, back with us and then going in and having the summer he had, having the training camp he had, and then the early part of the season playing like he had been playing, yeah, I think your heart goes out to somebody that’s put that kind of work in and has made that kind of jump.“I always say I think generally players make the biggest jump from their first year to their second year and he clearly has made a really good jump.
