Sun Apr 9 202308:18Kevin Knox II Scores Game-High 30 Points Saturday
Portland Trail Blazers forward Kevin Knox II had a prolific outing against the Clippers Saturday, ending up as the top scorer in a 136-125 loss with 30 points on 10-for-15 shooting. He was 5-for-8 with the three-ball and also posted a game-high 11 rebounds with two assists and one steal. Knox II has done well since getting a spot in the rotation and starting to log meaningful minutes. His shooting can be streaky, but he has still averaged close to 20 points this month with 6.0 rebounds. The former top-10 pick will get one more opportunity to impress Sunday versus the Warriors.

Wed Jun 29 202221:02Hawks Not Extending Qualifying Offer To Kevin Knox II
The Hawks declined to extend a qualifying offer to forward Kevin Knox II, making him an unrestricted free agent. Since being selected with the No. 9 overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft, Knox hasn't done much of anything, averaging only 7.7 points and 2.9 rebounds. There's a decent chance he'll find another club. However, Knox will likely be a deep bench option wherever he ends up, so it's unlikely the 22-year-old receives any fantasy interest moving ahead.

Thu Dec 16 202114:39Kevin Knox II Enters Safety Protocols
New York Knicks forward Kevin Knox II has entered the league's health and safety protocols. This is a shame considering Knox was playing well over his last two games. It seemed like Knox was finally building some momentum in New York. Now, the Knicks will have to rely on Mitchell Robinson and Nerlens Noel more without Knox available. Both are limited in skillset and don't offer huge upside.

NEW YORK (AP) — Tom Thibodeau made the first addition to his New York Knicks coaching staff on Tuesday, hiring Kenny Payne as an assistant.Payne has spent the last 10 years at Kentucky, where he has been John Calipari's associate head coach since 2014. He was part of the staff that won the 2012 national championship and won its first 38 games in 2014-15.Thibodeau said Payne has “an outstanding ability to forge relationships with players.”“He knows what it takes to win and has learned from one of the best coaches there is in John Calipari," Thibodeau added.Thibodeau was hired last month as coach of the Knicks, who have been one of the NBA's worst teams. Payne, on the other hand, has been part of one of college's best. The Wildcats reached four Final Fours and won 295 games with Payne working under Calipari, who like Thibodeau praised Payne's relationships with players.“As a basketball coach and a teacher, he could run any program in the country,” Calipari said. “Simply, he’s as good as they... Tue Jun 9 202016:06With season over, Rose can begin work of rebuilding Knicks
NEW YORK (AP) — Leon Rose took over as Knicks president on March 2, which should have given him a month and a half of season to evaluate his team.He got a week and a half. The Knicks played only six games before the season was suspended because of the coronavirus. There will be no more for them, because they are not among the 22 teams who will resume in Florida. So with another losing season over, the longtime player agent can begin making changes that can perhaps finally move the Knicks in a positive direction. The Knicks finished 21-45, extending the worst stretch in franchise history by missing the playoffs for the seventh straight season. The turmoil started early, even by Knicks standards. Coach David Fizdale was fired just 22 games into his second season and Steve Mills was dismissed as president in February. Mike Miller guided the team as interim coach after Fizdale's departure and had the Knicks defending and competing much better, but Rose is likely to search for yet another new coach.His... [More]

Mon Sep 30 201915:23Knicks say they built the team they wanted in free agency
GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Free agency was only a few hours old when the New York Knicks acknowledged their fans' disappointment.Three months later, the Knicks have changed their tune. Not only was free agency a success, they say, but fans are going to forget about who the Knicks didn't get because they're going to love who they did."These are guys that our fans are going to like, the toughness that they bring every day when they come to the court to play for the Knicks," team President Steve Mills said Monday. The Knicks signed seven new players in free agency, adding Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, Marcus Morris, Elfrid Payton, Wayne Ellington and Reggie Bullock. But by that time, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving had already committed to Brooklyn in the early hours of free agency, and Mills released a statement that night saying he understood that fans could be disappointed but that the team remained confident in its plans. And though the Knicks had enough money to afford two top free... They put up 38 more against Utah, when Miami led by as much as 19 in an eventual 12-point victory. They were even better when Miami was finally tested against Orlando (1-2), which had a 12-point lead. But Herro, the No. 13 pick out of Kentucky, poured in 15 points in the second quarter before Nunn, who spent last season with the... [More]

NEW YORK (AP) — It is not exactly a secret that the New York Knicks need a lot of help.So when a player who did almost everything well in his one college season was available, the decision to use the third overall pick Thursday night in the NBA draft on Duke freshman swingman RJ Barrett was relatively stress-free for general manager Scott Perry."I just can't tell you how excited we are to be able to land RJ Barrett and add him to the New York Knicks," Perry said in a conference call with reporters a few minutes after the selection was made. NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Knicks selected Duke freshman swingman RJ Barrett with the third pick in the NBA draft Thursday night.Barrett led the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring at 22.8 points per game despite somewhat being overshadowed by flashier teammate Zion Williamson, the No. 1 pick by New Orleans Pelicans. Barrett finished second behind Williamson for ACC Player of the Year, and ACC Rookie of the Year. Both were named to the All-ACC First Team, and the conference's all-freshman team. The 6-foot-7, 202-pounder from Mississauga, Ontario, had been linked to the Knicks almost immediately after it was revealed at the draft Lottery on May 14 that New York had the third pick. However, in recent days, the Knicks had worked out Vanderbilt guard Darius Garland and North Carolina guard Coby White.Still, for a New York squad which finished a league-worst 17-65, Barrett theoretically provides the Knicks with another young building block along with small forward Kevin Knox and center Mitchell...
