Paul Phillips will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a strained oblique.
Phillips was already an extreme longshot to break camp with the big club, and this injury essentially seals his fate. He'll likely be sidelined for a few weeks before beginning the season at Triple-A.

Brewers signed C Paul Phillips to a minor league contract.
The deal includes an invite to spring training. Phillips, who turns 35 in April, batted .237/.281/.305 with three homers, 24 RBI and a .586 OPS over 291 plate appearances with the Indians' Triple-A affiliate last season. He'll function as organizational depth in the minors.
