Mon Mar 2515:23Jordan Poole Upgraded To Available
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (ankle) has been upgraded from questionable to available for Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Poole is good to go despite a sprained right ankle, and he should play his normal allotment of minutes. Although the 24-year-old combo guard has been a massive disappointment during his first season in D.C., he's trending up in the absence of starting floor general Tyus Jones (back). Through his past six appearances (five starts), Poole is averaging 19.0 points, 5.0 dimes, 1.5 steals, and 2.7 three-pointers in 29.8 minutes and remains worth starting in all points formats for the start of the fantasy semifinals. His matchup outlook would brighten significantly if Alex Caruso (ankle) sits out; no team has given up fewer DraftKings points to opposing point guards than the Bulls in 2023-24.

Sun Mar 2421:40Jordan Poole Iffy To Play Against Chicago
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (ankle) received a questionable tag for their game against the Chicago Bulls on Monday. The 24-year-old has only been forced to miss two games all year and is in danger of missing a third. Even though his play hasn't been as consistent as everyone hoped, his health has been more consistent than most guards around the league. Poole has even moved back into the starting five recently since Tyus Jones (back) has been sidelined. If he's unable to suit up this time, however, Jared Butler would move into the starting lineup while Johnny Davis should see extra minutes off of the bench.

Sat Mar 2319:11Jordan Poole Available Versus Toronto
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (hip) will play against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday. The Wizards are officially eliminated from Play-In contention, so it's somewhat surprising Poole is available. But he's good to go for a matchup with another of the league's struggling teams. The 24-year-old has averaged 18.3 points and 4.2 assists in March, his best stretch of the 2023-24 campaign. However, with the injury, Poole could see limited action.

Sat Mar 2309:45Jordan Poole Dealing With Hip Injury, Questionable For Saturday
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (hip) is questionable for Saturday's clash versus Toronto. The former Warrior has suffered a hip contusion, which could take Poole out of the lineup for the first time since Jan. 31. All of the last four games have been starts for Poole, who has stepped in for Tyus Jones (back). Jones is out again on Saturday, giving Poole extra fantasy value. However, apart from a 31-point performance against Boston, Poole has struggled in his most recent starts and could easily leave fantasy managers disappointed again on Saturday.

Fri Feb 217:11Jordan Poole Available Against Heat
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (illness) is available for Friday's tilt versus the Miami Heat. A non-COVID illness made Poole a very late scratch ahead of Wednesday's defeat to the Los Angeles Clippers, but the Wizards have cleared him to play on Friday. The 24-year-old combo guard has only been a borderline fantasy play in nine-category leagues all year long during his first season in D.C., putting up 16.5 points on 41.1% shooting from the field, 3.4 assists, 2.0 threes, and 1.0 steals per game, but it's not a bad matchup against a Heat squad that's struggled to defend opposing guards in 2023-24. Rookie Bilal Coulibaly filled up the box score on Wednesday but will almost certainly revert to Washington's bench on Friday with Poole back in the mix.

Fri Feb 210:36Jordan Poole Still Dealing With Illness On Friday
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (illness) has received a questionable tag on Friday as he continues to deal with a non-COVID illness that kept him from playing against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. Poole hasn't been able to post the type of numbers that everyone expected this season, but he remains the team's starting two-guard. The 24-year-old is averaging 16.5 points, 3.4 assists, 2.2 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 2.2 turnovers per game while shooting 41.4% from the floor and 31.2% from three. At this rate, he hasn't been the most helpful fantasy player, so fantasy managers will want to have a backup plan ready and check back ahead of tipoff to see if he sheds the questionable status.

Fri Dec 15 202317:46Jordan Poole Good To Go Versus Indiana
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (ankle) is available for Friday's matchup against the Indiana Pacers. He had a questionable tag because of a left ankle sprain, although the injury isn't anything new. At any rate, Poole has played relatively well in his first season with the Wizards, averaging 16.5 points and 1.1 steals. Unfortunately for category managers, he's shot just 29.1% from deep. However, Poole could flourish in a favorable matchup with the Pacers, so he's a must-start in all fantasy formats.

Thu Dec 14 202318:49Jordan Poole Questionable Against Pacers
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers due to a left ankle sprain. Poole has struggled mightily during his first year in D.C., and perhaps this lingering ankle problem could be part of the blame. The combo guard only missed one game, however, on Nov. 25 with the issue. Friday's matchup between the NBA's two highest-paced squads in terms of possessions per game features a historic 257.5-point implied total, so Poole could miss out on what figures to be a free-flowing affair. Kyle Kuzma would be especially busy if Poole is out, while Tyus Jones, Corey Kispert, and rookie Bilal Coulibaly would all be tasked to help fill Poole's playmaking void.

Tue Dec 5 202315:42Jordan Poole Questionable Against Sixers
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Poole's statistical offerings during his first year in Washington have been dodgy to say the least, but his availability has been mostly consistent while missing just one game this season on Nov. 25 due to this same left ankle soreness. The underperforming 24-year-old has fared far more tolerably in points leagues with averages of 17.2 points, 1.9 treys, and 1.2 steals and limited all-around contributions during 29.4 minutes through 18 games in D.C., ranking outside the top 150 in category formats in fantasy thus far. Swingman Corey Kispert and first-round rookie Bilal Coulibaly would help fill in against the Sixers in the possible void of Poole, whose status could be updated once more after Wednesday morning's shootaround.

Mon Nov 27 202318:39Jordan Poole Will Play On Monday Versus Pistons
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (ankle) was forced to miss Saturday's game with an ankle sprain but is back in the lineup for their game against the Detroit Pistons on Monday night. Poole may be underwhelming for fantasy managers right now, but he continues to get every opportunity as the new face of the team alongside a red-hot Kyle Kuzma. The matchup with the Pistons presents an easier one that could get Poole going again.

Mon Nov 27 202315:44Jordan Poole Spotted At Shootaround
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (ankle), who is officially listed as questionable, was seen at morning shootaround ahead of Monday's game versus the Detroit Pistons. Poole missed his first game of the campaign on Saturday vs. the Atlanta Hawks as a late scratch that came after fantasy lineups were locked in, much to the dismay of season-long and DFS players alike. Poole is experiencing left ankle soreness, but he would appear to be on track to return from a one-game respite with the issue at this stage, barring any setbacks during pregame warmups. The 24-year-old combo guard's struggles have been well-documented in D.C. this year, mostly floundering in a 2023-24 featured role with averages of 17.7 points, 2.0 threes, and 1.1 steals that rank him just inside the top 200 in 9-category leagues. Corey Kispert, who made just 1-of-10 shots from deep in Saturday's spot start, would find a seat back on head coach Wes Unseld Jr.'s bench if Poole ultimately returns.

Sun Nov 26 202322:34Jordan Poole Uncertain To Play Against Pistons
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (ankle) has officially been tagged as questionable for Monday night's game against the Detroit Pistons. The 24-year-old was a late scratch on Saturday as he picked up an ankle sprain in their game prior on Friday. Poole hasn't been as good as fantasy managers have hoped so far this season, but he's remained a good source of points, threes, and steals. If Poole has to miss a second game, Tyus Jones should get a bump in production while Corey Kispert would likely move into the starting five again.

Sat Nov 25 202322:29Jordan Poole Ruled Out Late On Saturday Night
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (ankle) was a late scratch for Saturday's loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Fantasy managers were surprised to see him listed as out right around lock time. However, head coach Wes Unseld Jr. reported that the former Warrior "tweaked" his left ankle during pregame warm-ups, allowing Corey Kispert to take his spot in the starting lineup. That said, the Wizards play again on Monday in Detroit, so some rest could give Poole enough time to be ready. However, if he misses his second game of the 2023-24 campaign, Kispert would presumably continue to fill the void in the lineup.

Thu Oct 19 202308:50Jordan Poole Goes Off For 41 Points
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole was a scoring machine in Wednesday's 131-106 preseason victory over the Knicks, pouring in 41 points on 10-for-19 shooting. He caught fire very early and already had 29 points by halftime. Poole did the damage in just 27 minutes and finished 6-for-12 from downtown with a 15-for-16 effort at the foul line, also collecting five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. The shackles are off for Poole in D.C., and we should see big scoring numbers from him during the regular season as well. Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett recently noted that Poole could even be a top-five scorer in the league this season, likening him to three-time scoring champ James Harden.

Fri Sep 1 202322:08Jordan Poole Deemed “Odd Man Out” In Warriors Trade
Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob considered guard Jordan Poole "the odd man out" when it came to this offseason's trade for Chris Paul with the Washington Wizards. In reference to the prior tension between Poole and Draymond Green, Lacob believes "it could have worked out". "But I think it is fair to say that in order to make the team work next year, to make the numbers work and so on, someone probably was gonna be the odd man out", Lacob stated in regard to Poole. Golden State's rotation would have featured quite a crowded backcourt had Poole been retained alongside Paul. Instead, the 24-year-old rising star will have a chance to shoulder the offensive load in D.C. with little competition for usage around him in 2023-24.

Sun Aug 20 202309:11Jordan Poole Backed To Shine In Washington
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole is backed by former teammate Andre Iguodala to have a big year in 2023-24. "He averaged 20 last year, on a bad year. He's going to get to the line. He's the only one who got to the line for us last year consistently," Iguodala said on the "Gil's Arena" podcast. "People act like he had a bad year. I'm like, 'OK, a bad year? Y'all blamed him for the year we had last year and he averaged 20.' [He will average] 25-plus, easy." Poole notched 20.4 points per game last term while averaging five free throws a night. It was the best scoring output of his four-year career despite Poole hitting only 33.6 percent of his triples, so he certainly has the potential to do a lot more in Washington.

Tue Aug 1 202307:32Biggest Moves of the 2023 NBA Offseason - Fred VanVleet, Jordan Poole, Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal
It's a crazy time of year around the National Basketball Association. Not long after the Denver Nuggets captured the franchise's first championship, French big manVictor Wembanyama was the top pick of the 2023 Draft. While new talent entering the league is all well and good, nothing turns the NBA upside down quite like the beginning of free agency. Since June 30, many notable players have signed with new teams. There were also more than a few significant trades. In either case, at least a handful of clubs will look very different (for the better?) come training camp. Let's take a look at some of the biggest names on the move and how they might affect the NBA landscape this season.

Fred VanVleet - Houston Rockets

The Rockets entered the 2022-23 campaign as the second-youngest team in the National Basketball Association, and it showed. The club finished with 22 wins and 60 losses, with the Pistons being the only team with a worse record. As a result, the front office made a point to shake things up after the exhaustingly long year came to a close. The overhaul began when Stephen Silas, winning just 59 of his 236 games in Houston, was relieved of his head coaching duties. In his place, Ime Udoka, who helped guide the Celtics to an NBA Finals appearance in his first season, took the reigns. While Udoka's tenure in Boston didn't end on a positive note, he's still regarded as one of the sharpest minds in the league, even by those who lost respect for him on a personal level.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1650612243661242369?s=20While having a knowledgeable head coach will help accelerate the growth of an up-and-coming squad, the Rockets needed someone to facilitate things on the floor. With Houston having plenty of cap space entering the offseason, the team signed ... [More]
Tue Jul 25 202316:16Some Executives Didn't Support Trading Away Jordan Poole
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole was traded to the nation's capital for an aging Chris Paul ,who is nearing the end of his career. According to Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area, there were some executives that didn't support sending away the 24-year-old guard because it meant swapping him for someone "with so little remaining career." Poole is believed to have star potential, while the Warriors aging core added another older piece to the roster. Only time will tell who ended up getting the better end of this trade.

Thu Jun 22 202316:37Jordan Poole Being Sent To Washington
Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole is being traded to the Washington Wizards in exchange for point guard Chris Paul. The Warriors are also including a 2030 protected first-round pick and a 2027 second-rounder in the deal. Poole joins a Wizards team engaging in a full-on rebuild after stripping down its star power via the recent Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis trades. The 24-year-old combo guard's usage should go through the roof in Washington and has handled added responsibility fairly well on occasions as a primary ball handler in the past. Poole has accumulated 25.9 points, 5.3 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game in 43 games without Stephen Curry since 2021-2022. Fantasy managers should expect numbers of similar caliber in D.C.

Mon Jun 19 202318:10Jordan Poole Expected To Remain With Golden State
Golden State Warriors guard Jordan Poole has been rumored to be on the trade block this summer. However, new Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. has shot down the recent trade rumors. On Monday, Dunleavy said that the Warriors plan on keeping Poole for at least the next four seasons. The 24-year-old recently signed a four-year, $123 million extension with the organization. Clearly, Dunleavy views Poole as a key contributor to the present and future of this roster. Last season, Poole averaged a career-high 20.4 points per game with 2.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 82 games. It doesn't appear that the Warriors have any intentions of trading away Poole this offseason.
