Thu Mar 2822:16Matisse Thybulle Questionable For Friday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Matisse Thybulle (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against the Miami Heat due to a right ankle impingement. The 27-year-old missed the previous five games, as Portland is currently dealing with numerous injuries. If Thybulle can take the court on Friday, he could have a significant role since Jerami Grant (hamstring) is considered doubtful, and Toumani Camara (ribs) is out. If Thybulle is unable to play, Dalano Banton and Rayan Rupert will likely be given plenty of minutes.

Wed Mar 2718:26Matisse Thybulle Not Ready To Return On Wednesday
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) will remain on the shelf Wednesday versus Atlanta. The team has once again downgraded him from questionable to out, meaning Thybulle will miss a fifth consecutive game. It looks like Thybulle is close to returning from an ankle issue, but it's tough to predict when he will be back. His next chance to make a comeback comes on Friday in a matchup against Miami. Portland continues to carry a lot of injuries, which will give Rayan Rupert a new opportunity to start on Wednesday. He is expected to be joined by Scoot Henderson, Kris Murray, Toumani Camara, and Duop Reath.

Mon Mar 2510:08Matisse Thybulle Questionable To Face Rockets
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against Houston. He's played in only one of the last five games and is dealing with a right ankle issue. Thybulle's injury has left Portland without a defensive expert, who averages 1.8 steals per game. Rayan Rupert's role has grown during Thybulle's absence, but he's yet to make a mark in fantasy basketball. Dalano Banton also had a chance to eat up extra minutes if Thybulle remains out on Monday, although this is going to be a difficult matchup for Portland against a streaking team that boasts a strong defense.

Sat Mar 2321:04Matisse Thybulle Sitting Out On Saturday
Portland Trail Blazers forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Saturday's game against the Denver Nuggets. This was expected as Thybulle has already missed multiple games due to an ankle issue. The Blazers are banged up right now, so Kris Murray will likely start in place of Thybulle on Saturday. Last game, Murray posted 21 points and seven rebounds in 36 minutes of action. He could be someone worth looking at as a possible streaming option for Saturday's slate.

Sat Mar 2318:04Matisse Thybulle Listed As Questionable Saturday
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) is on the injury report as questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Nuggets. Due to right ankle impingement, he might be absent for a third consecutive game. Thybulle's absence opens up minutes for Dalano Banton and Rayan Rupert, who will also benefit from Anfernee Simons' (knee) exit from the lineup. Banton has looked very promising with the Trail Blazers and should play a big role against a weakened Denver squad that won't have Jamal Murray (ankle) and Nikola Jokic (back) available on Saturday.

Fri Mar 2221:01Matisse Thybulle Unavailable On Friday
Portland Trail Blazers forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. This doesn't come as much of a surprise given the Blazers place in the standings. They will likely continue to rest their players at anything less than 100 percent. Kris Murray will move into the starting five with Thybulle unable to play. Murray has posted back-to-back double digit scoring games, but that doesn't mean too much. He'll be a low-end streaming option for Friday's game.

Fri Mar 2216:48Matisse Thybulle Uncertain To Play Friday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Matisse Thybulle (ankle) has received a questionable tag ahead of their matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. He's been unable to play a full game over the team's last three games, so if he does return, it's unclear how many minutes he'll receive right away. They're dealing with a lot of injuries at the moment though, so Thybulle could be a decent streaming option in deeper leagues, but Anfernee Simons and Scoot Henderson should get most of the minutes in the backcourt. If he's unable to suit up again, Kris Murray, Toumani Camara, and Dalano Banton will all see a large chunk of minutes.

Mon Mar 1819:44Matisse Thybulle Available Again On Monday
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) has shaken off injury ahead of Monday's tilt against Chicago and will be available for the contest after missing one game. Thybulle has done very well lately to live up to his reputation as a defensive specialist, recording six blocks and nine steals across his last four appearances. He's ranked third in the league with 1.8 steals per game, and Thybulle's high-level defensive ability secures him regular playing time. However, the 27-year-old offers very little offensively, which is something fantasy managers always must consider.

Sun Mar 1721:38Matisse Thybulle Questionable Against Bulls
Portland Trail Blazers guard Matisse Thybulle (ankle) is listed as questionable against the Chicago Bulls on Monday. Due to the high amount of injuries that this team has faced this season, Thybulle has been playing a lot more than he did the previous year. Two members of the backcourt have already been ruled out and Jerami Grant (hamstring) is currently doubtful. That means if Thybulle does play, he'd likely see north of 20 minutes in this contest. If he misses his second consecutive game, however, Dalano Banton, Scoot Henderson, and Jabari Walker would all see extra minutes on the floor.

Sat Mar 1618:01Matisse Thybulle Won't Play On Saturday
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's meeting with New Orleans. The defensive specialist comes out of the lineup for just the second time in 28 games. Thybulle has averaged nearly 25 minutes per game for the month, meaning there will be a nice chunk of minutes to be shared around the rest of the bench. This could be a good matchup for Portland's second unit, as the Pelicans have a tendency to give up plenty of bench points, with only 11 teams allowing more across the season.

Fri Mar 1518:58Matisse Thybulle Questionable For Saturday
Portland Trail Blazers forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) is listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Blazers are seemingly banged up everywhere ahead of this matchup. Thybulle hasn't been a great scoring option for them, but he has been a reliable defensive player. His absence would probably mean more minutes for Rayan Rupert (ankle) or Jabari Walker (hip) but both are uncertain coming into this game. Fantasy managers will have to check back for another update on Saturday.

Mon Mar 418:53Matisse Thybulle Ruled Out Monday
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle (hip) won't play on Monday versus Minnesota. He's been forced out of the lineup by a sore left hip. Thybulle, who turned 27 on Monday, will miss only his third game of the season. With Deandre Ayton (hand), Jerami Grant (quadriceps), and Toumani Camara (illness) also ruled out for Monday, we're about to see a lot of unusual lineups by Portland, with Anfernee Simons the only remaining regular starter left standing.

Sun Mar 318:17Matisse Thybulle Uncertain Against Minnesota
Portland Trail Blazers guard Matisse Thybulle (hip) has drawn a questionable tag for Monday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The defensive specialist has only missed two games all season, but he's dealing with hip soreness right now which could potentially knock him out of a third game. He hasn't been the best fantasy asset despite getting regular minutes on a rebuilding Blazers squad. If he's unable to suit up, there will be more opportunities for Ashton Hagans, Jabari Walker, and Dalano Banton off of the bench. The former two would be the better streaming options after receiving north of 25 minutes each in the last couple of games.

Thu Jan 1820:38Matisse Thybulle Removed From Injury Report
Portland Trail Blazers forward Matisse Thybulle (ankle) does not appear on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers. This is good news after Thybulle was forced to exit during the fourth quarter of Wednesday's game. The team was calling the issue a left ankle sprain, but it doesn't appear to be something that is going to hold him out of action. Thybulle should be good to go, but hasn't done enough to warrant rostering in most fantasy formats right now.

Thu Jan 1809:29Matisse Thybulle Suffers Ankle Injury
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle sprained his left ankle against Brooklyn on Wednesday and had to exit the game in the fourth quarter. The defensive specialist ended the night with three points and three assists in 21 minutes off the bench. Portland has struggled with injuries all season long, and Thybulle is the latest player to go down. Toumani Camara should benefit the most from Thybulle's potential absence Friday versus Indiana.

Tue Jan 909:46Matisse Thybulle Questionable Tuesday
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle (foot) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's encounter with the Knicks. He suffered a right foot sprain on Friday versus Dallas and wasn't able to play Sunday against Brooklyn. Shaedon Sharpe was the biggest beneficiary of Thybulle's absence at the weekend, logging 40 minutes off the bench in an overtime win. We should see a lot of him again on Tuesday if Thybulle remains out, while Toumani Camara and Kris Murray also have a chance to see extra action.

Tue Nov 14 202321:20Matisse Thybulle Heads To The Bench
Portland Trail Blazers guard Matisse Thybulle will head to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Utah Jazz. This is weird timing with Thybulle coming off his best game of the season on Sunday. Regardless, the Blazers will move Toumani Camara into the starting five for Tuesday's game. The rookie has played well this season and has earned a chance in the starting five. It remains to be seen if this will be a long term move for the Blazers. Fantasy managers in dynasty leagues should keep an eye on Camara.

Thu Oct 5 202308:06Matisse Thybulle And Shaedon Sharpe Battling For Starter's Role
The Portland Trail Blazers have a starter's spot open at the small forward position and there are two candidates for the job. Matisse Thybulle and Shaedon Sharpe are battling out for the role, according to Aaron Fentress of The Oregonian. Fentress sees Thybulle as the "likely leader" in the race. Thybulle was a starter in all 22 games he played with the Blazers last season after being picked up in a trade in early February. He offers great balance to the unit as a good defensive presence and played well, averaging 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.7 steals. Sharpe had 15 outings as a starter and collected 18.5 points with 4.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists in the role. He had a much bigger part to play offensively and racked up his numbers with nearly 16 shot attempts per game. However, even with Damian Lillard gone, Portland still has plenty of offensive weapons to choose from, so using Thybulle with the starters appears to make the most sense.

Thu Sep 28 202306:00Fantasy Basketball Instant Reaction: Damian Lillard Trade
Well, it finally happened. For the first time in 11 years, Damian Lillard is no longer a Trailblazer. On Wednesday, the nearly three-month saga that held NBA news hostage all summer came to an abrupt halt after Lillard was astonishingly acquired by the Milwaukee Bucks. It was a blockbuster three-team deal that included the Phoenix Suns, nine total players, one first-round pick, and one pick swap. Here is the full breakdown of the trade and my analysis of how it will affect the NBA in 2023-2024 and fantasy basketball.

The Trade

Thu Jul 6 202317:53Blazers Matching Offer Sheet On Matisse Thybulle
The Portland Trail Blazers are matching the three year, $33 million offer sheet for restricted free agent Matisse Thybulle. The Blazers didn't waste much time matching the offer sheet offered by the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The 26-year-old saw an expanded role with the Blazers after being acquired in February. He averaged 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 steals in 27.7 minutes per game in 22 games with the Blazers. Thybulle is a solid contributor on defense and is getting better on the offensive side of the ball. It's not surprising to see the Blazers match the offer sheet here.
