Nationals signed C Mitch Canham to a minor league contract.

The 29-year-old backstop is a career minor leaguer, slashing .255/.340/.364 with 25 homers in 571 career games. He also has the ability to play first base, third base and either corner outfield position, but is unlikely to make any type of impact at the major league level.
