Wed Apr 1715:37Jontay Porter Banned For Violating Gambling Policy
The NBA announced on Wednesday that forward Jontay Porter, a two-way player recently under contract with the Toronto Raptors, has been banned from the league.A league investigation found that Porter violated league rules by disclosing confidential information to sports bettors, limiting his own participation in one or more games for betting purposes, and betting on NBA games. The 24-year-old big man appeared in 26 games (five starts) for the Raptors during the 2023-24 season, posting 4.4 points while shooting 38.5% from the field, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 13.8 minutes per contest as a depth piece in Toronto's injury-depleted frontcourt. Porter's case is one the Association hasn't witnessed in many years, but his lifetime ban will have no impact whatsoever on the fantasy basketball landscape entering the 2024-25 campaign.

Mon Mar 2510:02Jontay Porter Remains Absent On Monday
Toronto Raptors forward/center Jontay Porter (personal) won't be in the lineup for a second consecutive game on Monday versus Brooklyn. Porter has broken into the rotation lately but is currently away from the team to deal with a personal matter. Starting center Kelly Olynyk will carry a heavy load without him, while bigger contributions are expected from Jordan Nwora and Mouhamadou Gueye off the Raptors bench. Nwora has snuck onto fantasy radars lately, but he had a quiet seven-point outing in 16 minutes against Washington on Saturday. Porter's next opportunity to return comes on Wednesday versus the Knicks.

Tue Jan 3021:18Jontay Porter Won't Return On Tuesday
Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter (back) won't return to Tuesday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Porter exited the game after five minutes due to back spasms. He won't return to this contest and will finish his night with two points, one assist, and a steal. Chris Boucher and Jordan Nwora are likely to see increased roles with Porter unable to return. Boucher is the better option between the two, but he's won't see a huge bump from the loss of Porter.
