Sat Apr 1322:49Obi Toppin Questionable For Sunday Versus Atlanta
Indiana Pacers forward Obi Toppin (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. Toppin injured his left ankle against the Cavs and could not return to the contest. Before suffering the ankle injury, Toppin had logged 10 points, two rebounds, six assists, one block, and two steals in 16 minutes on the court. The Pacers are pretty roughed up right now, and we could see Jarace Walker get a shot at some rotation minutes if Toppin is unable to suit up.

Thu Jan 1821:01Obi Toppin Available On Thursday
Indiana Pacers forward Obi Toppin (calf) is available ahead of Thursday's game against the Sacramento Kings. The 25-year-old was questionable coming into this game after missing practice on Wednesday. Despite that, Toppin will play on Thursday and could have an increased role with Aaron Nesmith (shin) ruled out. It's worth noting that Toppin will still have to compete with Jalen Smith for playing time. Toppin should still be able to carve out decent value, but those days might be numbered with Pascal Siakam in town now.

Thu Jan 1809:58Obi Toppin Iffy For Thursday Due To Calf Issue
Indiana Pacers forward Obi Toppin (calf) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against Sacramento. He couldn't practice on Wednesday due to a left calf strain, and it looks like Toppin might have to skip his first game of the season. The 25-year-old is enjoying a decent debut campaign in Indianapolis, averaging 11.6 points with 4.0 rebounds. With Pascal Siakam not yet available for the team, Jalen Smith will likely be in for a very busy night, and Jarace Walker could have a role to play, especially if Aaron Nesmith (shin) can't return to the lineup.

Mon Dec 4 202318:42Obi Toppin Will Suit Up Against Celtics
Indiana Pacers forward Obi Toppin (ankle) was listed on the injury report as questionable as he deals with a left ankle sprain. Ahead of their in-season tournament game on Monday night, head coach Rick Carlisle said that he expects Toppin to play as well as Tyrese Haliburton (illness). That will be two starters upgraded to active which will mean that Aaron Nesmith and Bennedict Mathurin will remain in their bench roles. Toppin has been on a hot scoring streak over the last couple of games, but he isn't much of a fantasy contributor outside of deeper leagues.

Sun Dec 3 202319:37Obi Toppin Uncertain Against Celtics On Monday
Indiana Pacers forward Obi Toppin (ankle) is considered questionable for the in-season tournament knockout game against the Boston Celtics on Monday. The 25-year-old has yet to miss a game this season but he's currently dealing with a left ankle sprain. If he's unable to suit up, Aaron Nesmith and Bennedict Mathurin would likely see the uptick in minutes while one of them would move up into the starting five. Nesmith seems to be the one that fits the role a little more than Mathurin.

Tue Aug 1 202307:32Biggest Moves of the 2023 NBA Offseason - Fred VanVleet, Jordan Poole, Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal
It's a crazy time of year around the National Basketball Association. Not long after the Denver Nuggets captured the franchise's first championship, French big manVictor Wembanyama was the top pick of the 2023 Draft. While new talent entering the league is all well and good, nothing turns the NBA upside down quite like the beginning of free agency. Since June 30, many notable players have signed with new teams. There were also more than a few significant trades. In either case, at least a handful of clubs will look very different (for the better?) come training camp. Let's take a look at some of the biggest names on the move and how they might affect the NBA landscape this season.

Fred VanVleet - Houston Rockets

The Rockets entered the 2022-23 campaign as the second-youngest team in the National Basketball Association, and it showed. The club finished with 22 wins and 60 losses, with the Pistons being the only team with a worse record. As a result, the front office made a point to shake things up after the exhaustingly long year came to a close. The overhaul began when Stephen Silas, winning just 59 of his 236 games in Houston, was relieved of his head coaching duties. In his place, Ime Udoka, who helped guide the Celtics to an NBA Finals appearance in his first season, took the reigns. While Udoka's tenure in Boston didn't end on a positive note, he's still regarded as one of the sharpest minds in the league, even by those who lost respect for him on a personal level.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1650612243661242369?s=20While having a knowledgeable head coach will help accelerate the growth of an up-and-coming squad, the Rockets needed someone to facilitate things on the floor. With Houston having plenty of cap space entering the offseason, the team signed ... [More]
Sat Jul 1 202315:19Obi Toppin Being Shipped To Pacers
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin is being traded to the Indiana Pacers for two future second-round picks, per Adrian Wojnarowski. The 25-year-old was constantly blocked by Julius Randle in terms of playing time throughout the course of his Knicks career. In 15 career starting opportunities, however, Toppin has piled up 20.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.7 threes on 44% shooting from beyond the arc over 33.8 minutes per game. The 2020 No. 8 overall pick will jockey with 2023 eighth-overall choice Jarace Walker for minutes at the 4 in Indiana, but Toppin's fantasy prospects undoubtedly heighten with the change of scenery.

Wed Jun 21 202309:46Obi Toppin Has Been "Frustrated" With His Role In New York
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin is reportedly unhappy with his situation in the Big Apple. Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News has reported that Toppin "was frustrated at times with his role, although he refrained from complaining to the media" last season. The high-flying forward made 67 regular-season appearances during his third year in the league, making only five starts. He was limited to 15.7 minutes per game and averaged 7.4 points and 2.8 rebounds. Toppin impressed as a starter late in the season, notching 21.8 points per game with 44 percent shooting from downtown, and that might earn him a move elsewhere if things don't work out in New York. Toppin could get a bigger role with the Knicks in 2023-24 if Julius Randle gets moved, but Bondy also mentions Indiana as a potential landing spot for the 25-year-old.

Mon May 1 202310:51Obi Toppin Plays Well As Starter
New York Knicks power forward Obi Toppin didn't look out of place after taking Julius Randle's (ankle) spot in the starting unit Sunday against Miami. The third-year forward put up 18 points on 7-for-15 shooting and collected eight rebounds with one steal in 31 minutes. Toppin was mostly involved in the offense as a three-point shooter, going 4-for-11 from behind the arc. Randle's availability for Game 2 is currently unclear, but the Knicks will definitely try to do everything possible to have him on the court. Toppin should remain in the starting unit if Randle can't return.

Fri Mar 31 202319:19Obi Toppin Will Start Against The Cavs
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin will start on Friday night in Cleveland. Julius Randle (ankle) is out for a few weeks, so a void at the four needs to be filled. Toppin has averaged only 6.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 2022-23, although he'll likely surpass those numbers. However, he's a risky DFS option, especially with Jericho Sims expected to see more action as well.

Wed Jan 4 202318:03Obi Toppin Available To Play Wednesday
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin (knee) is available to play on a "situational" basis Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs. Toppin has not played since December 7th after suffering a fracture in his kneecap. Head coach Tom Thibodeau noted Toppin is available on a situational basis, meaning Toppin likely won't play unless there is garbage time. Toppin will need to get consistent practice time before making an impact.

Wed Oct 26 202210:23Obi Toppin Has His Option Picked Up
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin had his fourth-year option picked up by the team on Wednesday. The 24-year-old is a former eighth overall pick from the 2020 NBA draft. So far this season, he's averaged 9.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists on 57.1% shooting overall and 33.3% from deep. He's been an important piece off of the bench for head coach Tom Thibodeau's team. Fantasy-wise, he's better in deeper leagues until he starts seeing closer to 20 or more minutes per game.

Mon Apr 11 202214:37Obi Toppin Finishes Year With Career-High 42-Point Effort
New York Knicks power forward Obi Toppin concluded the 2021-22 season by dropping a career-best 42 points on 16-for-28 shooting en route to a double-double. Toppin stepped into lead offensive duties with Julius Randle (quad) ruled out down the stretch, as the 24-year-old averaged 27.2 points and shot 46.3% from long range over his last five outings. It's unlikely that Toppin carries a similar offensive workload into next year, but his role should improve from the 17.1 minutes and nine points per contest he averaged this season.

Sat Apr 9 202210:09Obi Toppin Drops Career-High 35 Points In Victory
New York Knicks power forward Obi Toppin enjoyed the best offensive outing of his career during Friday's win over Washington, pouring in a career-high 35 points on 14-for-22 shooting overall, including going 6-for-9 from behind the arc. The absence of Julius Randle (quad) has paved the way for Toppin to take on an elevated workload and he has responded with an average of 23.5 PPG over his last four outings. Entering the night, Toppin had knocked down just 40 threes in 70 games, but the 24-year-old took advantage of his No. 1 scoring option status. He figures to remain an integral cog for New York in their season finale Sunday against the Raptors, giving him sizable DFS appeal in all formats.

Wed Mar 23 202221:47Obi Toppin Surprises On Wednesday
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin received his second straight start against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. Julius Randle (quad) was sidelined again, so head coach Tom Thibodeau gave Toppin another chance. The young forward recorded his second ever double-double during Wednesday's victory. He finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in 40 minutes of action. Toppin was 8-for-11 from the floor and should be considered a strong streaming option for Friday, assuming Randle is out again.

Tue Mar 22 202222:43Obi Toppin Plays Well During Spot Start
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin finished with 10 points during the loss to Atlanta on Tuesday evening. Getting the start for Julius Randle (quadriceps), the 24-year-old also added seven rebounds, three assists, and a steal throughout 24 minutes of work. Managers need to keep an eye on Randle's status ahead of Wednesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets because if he is out again, Toppin has streaming potential in deeper formats. Of course, there should also be plenty of value for DFS participants to consider, especially those partaking in tournament play.

Sat Mar 12 202223:21Obi Toppin Questionable On Sunday
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's battle with the Nets. The 24-year-old has missed five games because of a strained left hamstring, so if he can't go versus Brooklyn, Jericho Sims and Taj Gibson may continue to benefit. However, neither man is worth much for fantasy managers looking to fill a void.

Fri Mar 11 202219:39Obi Toppin Will Miss Friday’s Game
New York Knicks power forward Obi Toppin (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Grizzlies, his fifth consecutive absence due to a strained left hamstring. Toppin's absence in the frontcourt, along with that of Nerlens Noel's (foot), has left Taj Gibson and Jericho Sims as the team's primary big men off the bench. While Toppin's NBA Slam Dunk Contest attributes have been on display the past few years, he remains a limited contributor off the bench for New York, averaging just 15 minutes on a nightly basis. His next chance to return to action comes Sunday vs. Brooklyn.

Thu Mar 10 202221:46Obi Toppin Questionable For Friday
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. He has missed each of the last four games while dealing with a left hamstring strain. Before that, Toppin wasn't bringing much to the table, so fantasy managers can leave him on the waiver wire. Taj Gibson should see around 20 minutes or so until Toppin returns. Although, Gibson usually doesn't make much of an impact.

Sun Feb 20 202219:21Obi Toppin Wins Slam Dunk Contest
New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin won the Slam Dunk Competition on Saturday night in Cleveland. He joined Kenny Walker and Nate Robinson as the third Knick to ever win the competition. Orlando's Cole Anthony and Houston's Jalen Green were the first two contestants to get eliminated. Toppin outscored Golden State's Juan Toscano-Anderson in the final round. Honestly, Toppin appeared as the most consistent contestant throughout the competition. Sadly, his fantasy value in New York isn't as strong as his dunking ability. He normally only plays minutes in the teens, which makes it tough for Toppin to produce consistent value. There is upside in Toppin's game, but it's unlikely his fantasy value changes much in the second half.
