Thu Apr 409:57Malachi Flynn Explodes For 50 Points Off Pistons Bench
Detroit Pistons guard Malachi Flynn came out of nowhere to put up 50 points in Wednesday's 121-113 loss to Atlanta. He logged 34 minutes off the bench and became the 10th player in the NBA this season with a 50-point game by shooting 18-for-25 from the field with a 5-for-9 effort from outside. Flynn's career night included six rebounds, five assists, and three steals. This was a very special outing for Flynn, who is now the third player in NBA history to reach the 50-point plateau without starting the game. He received extra usage on the backcourt after Cade Cunningham (knee) was a late scratch on Wednesday. We could see a lot more of Flynn over the final few games of the regular season, especially with Detroit now heading into a back-to-back situation and Cunningham unlikely to play in both games.

Fri Jan 515:29Malachi Flynn Questionable To Make Knicks Debut On Friday
New York Knicks guard Malachi Flynn (ankle) has been dealing with an ankle sprain since his last game in Toronto on December 29. After being part of the trade that sent OG Anunoby to the Knicks, Flynn has yet to play, so his role on his new team is unclear at the moment. Flynn was only getting 15.3 minutes per contest on a rebuilding Raptors team, so it doesn't seem likely that he would get a bigger role. He also hasn't been on the fantasy radar as he's posted 5.1 points, 2.4 assists, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.1 turnovers per game while shooting 40.9% from the floor. If he's upgraded to active, fantasy managers should hold off on adding him to any lineups until we find out his role and how many minutes he's going to get.

Mon Jan 109:54Malachi Flynn Unavailable For Knicks Debut On Monday
New York Knicks point guard Malachi Flynn (ankle) won't make his team debut on Monday versus Minnesota. He's on the injury report with a right ankle sprain. Flynn will provide some point guard depth behind Jalen Brunson in New York, but he isn't expected to play a large role. Meanwhile, OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa, who also came over in the trade with Toronto last week, aren't on the injury report, which suggests that they are available to make their Knicks debuts against the Timberwolves.

Thu Oct 6 202222:38Malachi Flynn Undergoes Procedure
Toronto Raptors guard Malachi Flynn (cheek) underwent a procedure to repair a cheekbone fracture he suffered during Sunday's game against the Jazz. The 24-year-old averaged only 4.3 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.4 rebounds last season. However, he is expected to see routine minutes in 2022-23 behind Fred VanVleet, so his statistical contributions should increase. Still, he shouldn't draw much interest from managers heading into the 2022-23 campaign, and his career 32.6% shooting from deep will hurt his value in category formats. With that said, Flynn should be ready to start the year. However, Dalano Banton will see an expanded role if he isn't.

Sun Apr 3 202218:46Malachi Flynn Set To Return On Sunday
Toronto Raptors point guard Malachi Flynn (hamstring) will be active for Sunday's game against the Miami Heat. This will mark his first action since March 4. The second-year pro has been sidelined with a left hamstring strain. He was playing great prior to the injury, filling in as the team's starting point guard with Fred VanVleet injured. Now that FVV is back, Flynn will take on a bench role. Flynn will likely only see around 10 minutes or so per game while FVV is healthy, making him not worthy of fantasy consideration for now.

Mon Mar 7 202209:14Malachi Flynn To Be Re-Evaluated In 10 Days
Toronto Raptors point guard Malachi Flynn (hamstring) is set to be re-evaluated in 10 days. The second-year pro is dealing with a strained left hamstring. The injury forced him to miss Sunday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Flynn had stepped into a starting role with Fred VanVleet (knee) sidelined. VanVleet hasn't played since February 26, but it seems as if he may be nearing a return. While both Flynn and VanVleet are out, we should see rookie Scottie Barnes continue to take on point guard duties for the team. He dished out six assists in the team's game on Sunday.

Sun Mar 6 202217:04Malachi Flynn Won't Play Against Cleveland
Toronto Raptors guard Malachi Flynn (hamstring) won't play on Sunday against Cleveland. This is a tough blow, primarily since Flynn played so well in place of Fred VanVleet (knee), who is also out again, marking his fifth consecutive absence. As a result, Dalano Banton, who recorded just seven points during his only start of the year, is likely to handle things at the point.

Tue Dec 28 202119:21Malachi Flynn Draws First Start Of Year, Faces Minutes Cap
Toronto Raptors point guard Malachi Flynn has been elevated to the starting five for Tuesday's contest against the 76ers, but he will face a minutes restriction in his return to action. The Raptors' backcourt is dealing with widespread absences due to injury and the league's health and safety protocols, pushing Flynn up the depth chart. The second-year guard has scored in double figures just once across 21 games this season, making him a risky DFS selection, even as Gary Trent Jr., Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, and Yuta Watanabe are the only other likely ballhandlers to see a relevant minutes total Tuesday. In 14 starts last season, Flynn saw his numbers rise significantly, averaging 14.9 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.3 rebounds.
