Wed Apr 1709:48Kenyon Martin Jr. Questionable Wednesday
Philadelphia 76ers forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (toe) is considered questionable for Wednesday's play-in matchup against Miami. A toe injury kept him out for the final three regular-season games, and Martin might remain unavailable as the 76ers try to lock up their playoff berth on Wednesday. Even if he's able to return, Martin likely won't have a large part to play in the contest with Philadelphia's frontcourt fully healthy. Joel Embiid (knee) is carrying a questionable tag but is expected to be in the lineup on Wednesday.

Fri Apr 1218:25Kenyon Martin Jr. Ruled Out Friday
Philadelphia 76ers forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (toe) will miss a second consecutive game on Friday versus the Magic. He's dealing with a buried toe that could also keep him out for the final regular-season game on Sunday against Brooklyn. Buddy Hield and De'Anthony Melton could get a chance to see extra time on the court without Martin Jr., with the former being the better fantasy option. However, relying on Hield always tends to be risky business, and Friday's matchup is an awful one for the Sixers players fantasy-wise.

Thu Apr 1119:25Kenyon Martin Jr. Iffy For Friday
Philadelphia 76ers forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (toe) might be absent for a second consecutive game on Friday versus Orlando, as the team has listed him as questionable for the contest. The high-flying youngster is trying to overcome a left big toe contusion. Martin has seen quite a bit of playing time lately, but it's come during a time when Philadelphia has been without a number of frontcourt players due to injuries. He doesn't have a big role to play when everybody's healthy, and the 76ers should do just fine without Martin if he isn't in the lineup on Friday.

Fri Mar 118:55Kenyon Martin Jr. Out Against Hornets
Philadelphia 76ers small forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (ankle) is unavailable in Friday's game against Charlotte. He will miss his third consecutive game with a right ankle impingement. Before the ankle injury, Martin Jr. averaged 3.5 points, 0.7, and 1.8 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game. He has suited up in 42 contests this season. Nicolas Batum, Ricky Council, and Darius Bazley could see more minutes with Martin sidelined.

Thu Feb 2917:41Kenyon Martin Jr. Questionable For Friday's Game
Philadelphia 76ers small forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against Charlotte. He's in danger of missing a third consecutive contest with right ankle impingement. 76ers head coach Nick Nurse noted on Thursday that Martin Jr. got through "about three quarters" of practice, which doesn't sound too promising regarding his potential comeback on Friday. Before landing on the shelf, Martin Jr. had gained some momentum, averaging 7.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 19.5 minutes this month.

Tue Feb 2706:44Kenyon Martin Jr. In Danger Of Missing Another Contest
Philadelphia 76ers forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (ankle) carries a questionable tag ahead of Tuesday's meeting with Boston. He's dealing with right ankle impingement and could be out for a second consecutive game. Martin Jr. has played a fairly significant role in the rotation lately, averaging 23.3 minutes across his last seven appearances. Kelly Oubre Jr. and De'Anthony Melton should see more action off the bench without Martin Jr. on Tuesday.

Sun Feb 2512:25Kenyon Martin Jr. Downgraded On Sunday
Philadelphia 76ers forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (ankle) is now out for Sunday's matchup with the Bucks. He was initially listed as probable on Saturday, so things must have taken a turn in the wrong direction since then. The 23-year-old has averaged 7.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and shot 44.4% from behind the arc in February, his best stretch this season. However, it still hasn't been enough to make him a reliable fantasy contributor. At any rate, Martin's absence could at least allow Ricky Council IV to receive a few more minutes of action, although he's not worth adding to any fantasy roster.

Thu Oct 12 202307:59Tyronn Lue Sees Kenyon Martin Jr. Playing Multiple Positions
Los Angeles Clippers forward Kenyon Martin Jr. starts out the season mainly as Kawhi Leonard's backup, but he can expect to be used in multiple positions. "I see him as a basketball player at the three, four, five, wherever we can use him," Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said of Martin Jr. "Just his athleticism, being able to switch, being able to guard different positions, being able to roll to the basket, run the floor." His versatility will give Martin Jr. a chance to pick up minutes in various situations, but he will definitely need to cope with a lesser role compared to his final year in Houston, when the 22-year-old was a starter for around half of the games and averaged 28.0 minutes a night.

Sat Jul 1 202321:41Clippers Acquire Kenyon Martin Jr.
The Clippers acquired forward Kenyon Martin Jr. from the Rockets in exchange for two future second-round picks. LA was looking to bolster its rotation, so adding the 22-year-old was a step in the right direction. He appeared in all 82 games for Houston last season, starting 49 of them and averaging 14.4 points and 6.2 rebounds. On paper, Martin figures to get routine minutes from off the bench with the Clippers. However, considering the injury history of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, he may work his way into the first five at some point during the year, which, of course, will improve his fantasy value.

Thu Jun 29 202320:25Kenyon Martin Jr. Returning To Houston
The Houston Rockets have decided to pick up the $1.9 million option on forward Kenyon Martin Jr. on Thursday. This was a no-brainer for the Rockets after what they saw from Martin last season. The 22-year-old averaged 12.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists in 82 games for Houston this past season. He averaged 28 minutes per game, which could decrease next season depending on who the Rockets sign. Fantasy managers will have to wait and see how the offseason plays out before judging Martin's value.

Wed Jun 14 202313:30Multiple Teams Interested In Kenyon Martin Jr.
Houston Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr. has plenty of admirers following a breakthrough campaign. The 22-year-old broke into the starting unit in 2022-23, averaging 14.4 points and 6.2 rebounds in the role, and he posted 12.7 points and 5.5 rebounds in 28.0 minutes across the whole campaign. Rockets beat writer Kelly Iko has now reported Dallas, the Clippers, and Phoenix are keeping an eye on Martin Jr.'s situation in H-Town. The Rockets have a team option on him for next season. If they decline it, Martin Jr. would become a restricted free agent.

Fri Mar 31 202315:58Kenyon Martin Jr. Uncertain To Play Against Detroit
Houston Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (hip) has been tagged as questionable on Friday against the Detroit Pistons, which puts his games-played streak in jeopardy. So far, he's played in every game this season, but he's currently dealing with a left hip flexor strain, which could be very bothersome to play through. Martin has been a solid end-of-the-bench type of player for fantasy managers this year, but if he can't play, then Tari Eason would step into those vacated minutes. Eason has been a solid streaming option during a few different games this year.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Fri Feb 10 202309:25Navigating The Clippers Trade Deadline Moves - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the heat of the congested Western Conference playoff race and were one of the more active franchises during Thursday's trade deadline. The Clippers had some glaring needs, specifically at the point guard position, and needed to surround their star forwards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, with more talent to compete in the loaded Western Conference. The Clippers were able to execute three separate trades on Thursday. First off, the Clippers were able to secure Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets for a couple of second-round picks. Then, they set their eyes on veteran guard Eric Gordon in a three-team trade, sending off John Wall to the Houston Rockets and Luke Kennard to the Memphis Grizzlies. Lastly, the Clippers moved ... Sun Aug 7 202220:04Kenyon Martin Jr. Being Monitored By Teams
Houston Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr. requested a trade back in June. While there haven't been any updates regarding a potential deal, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reports several teams are monitoring the big man. The 21-year-old finished last season by averaging 8.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists across 79 games. Yet, he played considerably better as a starter, averaging 14.0 points and 8.5 boards (two appearances). If he remains with the Rockets, he'll likely remain buried behind Jabari Smith Jr., Alperen Sengun, and Tari Eason, among others, on the depth chart. However, if Martin gets a new home this season, his fantasy value could increase significantly.

Thu Jul 7 202221:54Rockets In No Rush To Trade Kenyon Martin Jr.
Houston Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr. decided to request a trade roughly two weeks ago. The Rockets have a bunch of young talent on their roster. That being said, Martin is going to have a tough battle for consistent minutes, which likely influenced his trade request. There is some upside with Martin, but it's uncertain if he can be a reliable full-time starter in the NBA. Clearly, the Rockets are in no rush to move the 21-year-old. It's unlikely that Martin decides to suit up for the Rockets again. It's tough to imagine Martin landing on a team where he gets enough minutes to warrant rostering in fantasy formats. At this point, it doesn't sound like the Rockets are too eager to accommodate his trade request.

Mon Jun 20 202221:34Kenyon Martin Jr. Reportedly Requests Trade
Houston Rockets forward Kenyon Martin Jr. has reportedly requested a trade. The 21-year-old hasn't been a consistent fantasy option since entering the league. However, he averaged 14.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists throughout two starts last season, so it's evident there's an upside. With Houston looking to make moves ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft, it's feasible Martin may get his wish, especially since clubs won't have to pay him much over the next few years. As a result, he could see a noticeable increase on the statistical end if he gets a regular role for a team moving ahead, so he's certainly someone to keep an eye on for those in deeper leagues.
