Red Sox acquired RHP Daniel Turpen from the Giants for RHP Ramon Ramirez.
Turpen, 23, was 5-5 with a 4.09 ERA in 37 relief appearances for Double-A Richmond this year. The right-hander was an eighth round in the 2007 draft and entered this season with a 2.28 ERA in 107 appearances.
