INF Conor Gillaspie cleared waivers and accepted his outright to Triple-A Sacramento. The Giants designated him for assignment on Tuesday night after a 6-1 loss to Oakland. "Conor's done a lot for us so it's nice to have him down there," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "Gives us inventory, not that that's why we got him. He's down there available. He'll get some playing time and we'll see where we're at once he starts playing again." Gillaspie hit .163 (13-for-80) with two home runs and eight RBIs in 44 games for the Giants this season. Last year, when he began his second career stint with San Francisco, he hit .262 with six home runs and 25 RBIs in 101 games. Then in two postseason games, he hit .421 (8-for-19) with one triple, one home run and six RBIs.
