Sun Feb 418:54Jock Landale To Play On Sunday
Houston Rockets center Jock Landale (wrist) is available ahead of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Landale has been cleared to suit up after not playing in the last three games. Landale appears healthy, but he isn't a lock to crack the rotation right now. Alperen Sengun plays a bulk of the minutes with Jabari Smith Jr. being in the mix as well. Fantasy managers can continue to ignore Landale for the moment.

Thu Oct 26 202320:55Jock Landale Won't Play On Friday
Houston Rockets center Jock Landale (concussion) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. This is a tough break for the Rockets, but hopefully Landale will only be forced to miss one game. Starting center Alperen Sengun is expected to play a bigger role with Landale unavailable. The Rockets might opt to play small-ball with Boban Marjanovic as the only other big man on this team. Jabari Smith Jr. is likely to have an increased role with Landale out for this game.

Tue Sep 12 202321:30Jock Landale Likely Good To Go For Training Camp
Houston Rockets general manager Rafael Stone announced that center Jock Landale (ankle) should be fully healthy by training camp in late September. The 27-year-old suffered a "major" left ankle injury with Australia during the FIBA World Cup last month, but he seems to have recovered very well over the past several weeks. Landale reached a four-year, $32 million deal with the Rockets this offseason after averaging 6.6 points on 52.8% shooting, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 14.2 minutes over 69 games with the Phoenix Suns last year. The big man is set to come off Houston's bench to spell Alperen Sengun this season, so he's likely off the fantasy radar unless Sengun ever were to miss time.

Fri Aug 18 202317:35Jock Landale Will Likely Miss FIBA World Cup With Ankle Injury
Houston Rockets center Jock Landale (ankle) suffered a left ankle injury during Australia's warmups before their exhibition game against South Sudan. According to ESPN's Olgun Uluc, the injury didn't look great and the big man was headed to get an MRI. The full severity of the injury is yet to be known, but the fact that Team Australia is assuming they won't have him isn't the best sign. Landale signed with Houston in free agency and was set to be the primary backup to Alperen Sengun and his fantasy value is currently a question mark.

Tue Aug 1 202307:32Biggest Moves of the 2023 NBA Offseason - Fred VanVleet, Jordan Poole, Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal
It's a crazy time of year around the National Basketball Association. Not long after the Denver Nuggets captured the franchise's first championship, French big manVictor Wembanyama was the top pick of the 2023 Draft. While new talent entering the league is all well and good, nothing turns the NBA upside down quite like the beginning of free agency. Since June 30, many notable players have signed with new teams. There were also more than a few significant trades. In either case, at least a handful of clubs will look very different (for the better?) come training camp. Let's take a look at some of the biggest names on the move and how they might affect the NBA landscape this season.

Fred VanVleet - Houston Rockets

The Rockets entered the 2022-23 campaign as the second-youngest team in the National Basketball Association, and it showed. The club finished with 22 wins and 60 losses, with the Pistons being the only team with a worse record. As a result, the front office made a point to shake things up after the exhaustingly long year came to a close. The overhaul began when Stephen Silas, winning just 59 of his 236 games in Houston, was relieved of his head coaching duties. In his place, Ime Udoka, who helped guide the Celtics to an NBA Finals appearance in his first season, took the reigns. While Udoka's tenure in Boston didn't end on a positive note, he's still regarded as one of the sharpest minds in the league, even by those who lost respect for him on a personal level.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1650612243661242369?s=20While having a knowledgeable head coach will help accelerate the growth of an up-and-coming squad, the Rockets needed someone to facilitate things on the floor. With Houston having plenty of cap space entering the offseason, the team signed ... [More]
Fri Jun 30 202317:51Suns Relinquish Qualifying Offer From Jock Landale
The Phoenix Suns had extended a qualifying offer to center Jock Landale on Wednesday, but have decided to relinquish that offer. The 27-year-old was expected to hit the open market as a restricted free agent, but that won't be the case anymore. Now, Landale will be an unrestricted free agent, so the Suns won't be able to stop him from leaving. It appears the Suns will let Landale walk in order to save some cap space. Landale was decent during the regular season and put together some quality games during the postseason. That being said, he should be able to find a new home, but it's unknown if he'll have fantasy value. It will be dependent on where he goes and what kind of role he has with that organization.

Fri Dec 23 202220:44Jock Landale Cleared For Action
Phoenix Suns center Jock Landale (concussion) is available to play Friday against Memphis. He has missed a couple of games this week after landing in the concussion protocol. The Australian big man has put in a couple of impressive performances this month, including his first double-double effort of the campaign. However, Landale is a fantasy option in only the deepest leagues, with other bigs in Phoenix not getting a lot of joy with a healthy Deandre Ayton in the lineup.

Wed Oct 26 202210:49Jock Landale Scores 17 Points Off Of The Bench
Phoenix Suns center Jock Landale had himself another good game in limited time off of the bench. He's starting to creep up on must-add status. On Tuesday night, he ended the game with 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocks on 50% shooting from the floor. The Suns originally resigned Bismack Biyombo to contribute as the backup center. Landale has been taking all of those minutes and isn't looking back. Fantasy managers need to put him on their watch list and probably should start adding him now in deeper leagues.

Sun Jul 3 202215:45Suns Land Jock Landale In Deal With Hawks
Center Jock Landale is set to join the Phoenix Suns, who will acquire the 26-year-old in exchange for cash considerations. The Suns have been active in the past week, inking wings Damion Lee and Josh Okogie to deals to further bolster the team's second unit. Landale's fantasy upside is intrinsically tied to the status of Deandre Ayton, who is likely to command a significant contract as a restricted free agent. With Bismack Biyombo back in the frontcourt for Phoenix as well, Landale could have sizable competition for playing time early on in 2022-23.

Sun Apr 3 202220:51Jock Landale Suffers Foot Injury Sunday
San Antonio Spurs center Jock Landale (foot) suffered a foot injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. He was taken to the locker room after sustaining the injury and ruled out for the game shortly after. He was only able to log six minutes before the injury. The Spurs are without Jakob Poeltl (back) on Sunday, so Landale was in position for some extended minutes. Instead, we should see Zach Collins wind up logging even more minutes than expected in the contest.
