Phillies sent LHP Mauricio Robles outright to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Robles cleared waivers and is no longer on the Phillies' 40-man roster. The 24-year-old had a nice season in Triple-A and allowed one earned run in 4 2/3 innings in three appearances as a September call-up.

A waiver claim over the winter, Robles has spent all season in the minors, putting up a 1.97 ERA and 63/44 K/BB ratio over 64 frames between Double- and Triple-A. While he has a nice arm, walks have always been an issue for the southpaw. He won't be used in high-leverage situations.

Robles is recovered from his mid-March elbow surgery and ready to begin making appearances in the minor leagues. The left-hander should be able to work his way up to Triple-A in a couple of weeks.

Mauricio Robles will have surgery soon to remove "loose bodies" from his elbow.
He's expected to resume throwing in a month, so it's not a major setback for the prospect. Robles, who is ranked by Baseball America as the Mariners' No. 6 prospect, will report to Triple-A once he's healthy.
