Fri Aug 18 202320:38Thunder Waive TyTy Washington Jr. On Friday
The Oklahoma City Thunder released guard TyTy Washington Jr. on Friday. The 21-year-old originally joined the Thunder as part of a trade from the Atlanta Hawks for Patty Mills earlier this summer. It's somewhat of a surprise to see OKC give up on Washington already, considering he was a first-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The Kentucky product averaged 4.7 points on 36.3% shooting from the field, 1.5 assists, and 0.5 steals in 14.0 minutes over 31 games in his rookie season. Another team figures to take a flier on Washington as backcourt depth ahead of fall training camp.

Sat Jul 8 202316:31TyTy Washington Jr. Dealt Again
The Hawks traded guard TyTy Washington Jr., along with Rudy Gay, Usman Garuba, and a second-round pick, to OKC on Saturday in exchange for guard Patty Mills. The 21-year-old was selected No. 29 overall in the 2022 NBA Draft and averaged 4.7 points in 31 games for the Rockets. However, he wasn't a routine presence in Houston's lineup, so the verdict is still out on his upside. But Washington will need to scratch and claw for minutes in OKC, considering the team is loaded with young, up-and-coming players, so he may not receive consistent minutes. on the other hand, dynasty managers with room to spare should keep him on the roster for now, especially since his value can't go anywhere but up.

Tue Oct 18 202216:33TyTy Washington Jr. Will Miss Season Opener
Houston Rockets guard TyTy Washington Jr. (knee) will not be playing in his first NBA game just yet. The 20-year-old rookie sprained his knee in their game at Indianapolis, and his return timetable is still to be determined. In his lone season at the University of Kentucky, Washington averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game on 45.1% shooting overall and 35.0% from deep. He could provide a little bit of value in deeper fantasy leagues this season since the Rockets aren't ready to compete just yet. That being said, his value is a little higher in dynasty formats right now.
