Sun Feb 1101:55Shaedon Sharpe Undergoes Successful Surgery
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (abdomen) underwent successful core muscle surgery on Friday. He will be re-evaluated in six weeks. The 20-year-old hasn't played since mid-January. He appeared to be progressing. However, the Trail Blazers will be without him for a while. Sharpe averaged 15.9 points, 5.0 boards, and 2.9 assists in 32 games this season. Unfortunately, he hasn't stayed healthy. That said, until Sharpe is back in the lineup, Malcolm Brogdon and Scoot Henderson should absorb most of his minutes.

Fri Feb 217:53Shaedon Sharpe Progressing, Still Out Friday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (abdomen) remains out for Friday's meeting with the Denver Nuggets. Portland announced on Wednesday that Sharpe was starting to ramp up and begin light on-court activities as he recovers from a lower abdominal strain, but the versatile swingman is not ready to suit up for game action. Sharpe has been sidelined since mid-January and sees his next opportunity to return against these same Nuggets on Sunday. Malcolm Brogdon has picked up the slack for the Blazers covering his latest eight appearances, averaging 20.0 points, 6.9 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.3 three-pointers since Jan. 17. Brogdon might be on the move by next Thursday's trade deadline, but he's getting plenty of run in Rip City and is a must-start in fantasy right now.

Mon Jan 1521:36Shaedon Sharpe To Miss At Least Two Weeks
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (abdominal) is set to miss at least two weeks of action. Sharpe has missed each of the last two games before the Blazers decided to shut him down for the next two weeks. After that, Sharpe will be re-evaluated, but could continue to miss time after being looked at again. Kris Murray and Rayan Rupert have been seeing larger roles in the rotation. Murray could be a deep league option while Sharpe is sidelined. Malcolm Brogdon and Matisse Thybulle figure to gain the most value from the loss of Sharpe.

Fri Jan 1216:57Shaedon Sharpe Will Not Suit Up On Friday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (groin) has been ruled out with groin soreness on Friday. After a dreadful 62-point loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, it looks like Sharpe will get the night off. He's had some rough shooting nights lately, which coincided with two losses by a total of 90 points. His last contest was cut short after playing 21 minutes, and that groin injury is what's bothering him in the second half of their back-to-back. Matisse Thybulle is the likely beneficiary from Sharpe's absence, but he produces a mixed bag of results whenever he gets added minutes. Kris Murray may also see some opportunities, but he wouldn't be a trustworthy streamer either.

Sun Jan 714:49Shaedon Sharpe Won't Have A Minutes Cap On Sunday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe will see a full workload in Sunday's matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. The 20-year-old is averaging 16.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists this season, a significant improvement from the 2022-23 campaign, his rookie season. But he battled a groin injury at the end of December, keeping him off the floor for five games. Although Sharpe has been back in the lineup, he's logged 24 minutes or fewer in each of the last three games. Fortunately, he has been productive despite his limited minutes. At any rate, Sharpe's presence could mean less work for Malcolm Brogdon and Scoot Henderson, especially with Anfernee Simons also no longer operating with a minutes cap as of Sunday.

Mon Jan 119:50Shaedon Sharpe Upgraded To Active With Minute Restriction
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (groin) has been upgraded from questionable to available for Monday's game against the Phoenix Suns. According to head coach Chauncey Billups, Sharpe will be on a minute restriction in this game. Fantasy managers depending on Sharpe will want to temper expectations after Billups didn't specify how many minutes he'll be held to, so a backup plan is likely the safest way to go. The two players affected the most by Sharpe's return will be Skylar Mays and Matisse Thybulle, while the starting backcourt of Scoot Henderson and Malcolm Brogdon should see a heavy workload.

Fri Dec 29 202321:30Shaedon Sharpe Won't Suit Up On Friday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (groin) won't play in Friday's game versus San Antonio. The 20-year-old has averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists this season. Unfortunately, he's missed the last four games because of a right-groin strain. The Blazers also won't have Anfernee Simons (illness), meaning Malcolm Brogdon and Scoot Henderson should absorb most of the backcourt minutes. Both men have played well while filling the void in the lineup, so they should be featured in every fantasy format imaginable.

Tue Dec 26 202321:51Shaedon Sharpe To Remain Sidelined
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (groin) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Sacramento Kings The young guard will miss his third game in a row as he continues to deal with a lingering groin issue. Malcolm Brogdon and Anfernee Simons will start in the backcourt with Sharpe being unavailable. Both players will have increased value with Sharpe out, so fantasy managers should look their way as possible streaming options.

Wed Dec 20 202320:33Shaedon Sharpe Ruled Out For Thursday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (groin) has been ruled out ahead of Thursday's game against the Washington Wizards. Sharpe was forced to exit after eight minutes during Tuesday's game due to a groin issue. The Blazers are going to play it safe and hold Sharpe out of Thursday's contest. His absence should mean more playing time for Malcolm Brogdon and Scoot Henderson in the rotation. Both players are going to have boosted value, so they should be decent streaming options with an increased role.

Wed Dec 20 202315:32Shaedon Sharpe Plays Eight Minutes Before Aggravating Groin
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (groin) brought in one rebound and missed his lone field-goal attempt over eight minutes of action before his night ended in Tuesday's game against the Phoenix Suns with right-groin soreness. Sharpe was listed as questionable coming into the contest with the same injury. Head coach Chauncey Billups said before the game that Sharpe has been dealing with the issue for some time and that he was being closely monitored. The second-year swingman is handling 35.0 minutes per game this season, so it's fair to wonder if the workload is beginning to affect his health. After scoring at least 23 points with three triples in each of his five games from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11, Sharpe is shooting just 23.2% (7-for-30) over the last four nights. Should he miss Thursday's game versus the Washington Wizards, it would mean more minutes for Malcolm Brogdon and Scoot Henderson.

Tue Dec 19 202321:22Shaedon Sharpe Available On Tuesday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (groin) is available for Tuesday's game against the Phoenix Suns. The young guard was questionable coming into this game due to a groin issue. He has played poorly over the last three games, but possibly the groin issue was impacting his play. Hopefully, the issue is behind him and Sharpe can rebound versus Phoenix. The expectation is that he'll play his normal role in this game. Fantasy managers who have Sharpe rostered can get him back in their lineups on Tuesday.

Mon Dec 18 202322:21Shaedon Sharpe Questionable For Tuesday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (groin) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Phoenix Suns. Sharpe popped up on the injury report with right groin soreness, so he could very well sit this one out. His absence would likely mean that Malcolm Brogdon would slide into the starting five. Also, Scoot Henderson and Matisse Thybulle would see more minutes in the rotation. Between the trio, Brogdon is the best streaming option for Tuesday's slate if Sharpe sits out.

Wed Nov 15 202320:51Shaedon Sharpe Will Play Wednesday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (knee) will suit up for Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The young guard was listed as probable coming into this game due to a left knee issue. It appears to be only a minor issue as Sharpe will suit up for this game. He has been averaging nearly 40 minutes per game this season. He'll continue to play big minutes with the Blazers shorthanded right now. That being said, Sharpe should be a viable fantasy option as long as the knee issue doesn't hinder his performance.

Wed Nov 15 202318:55Shaedon Sharpe Likely To Suit Up Against Cavs
The Portland Trail Blazers are listing guard/forward Shaedon Sharpe (knee) as probable for Wednesday's game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sharpe is dealing with left knee soreness on the second part of a back-to-back, which is understandable given that he's pacing the NBA in average minutes (39.6) over 10 games. The Blazers are leaning quite heavily on the 2022 No. 7 overall pick with virtually their entire backcourt devastated by injuries, making Sharpe more appealing in 8-category fantasy leagues while averaging 19.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 treys, 1.0 steals and 3.2 turnovers this year. Sharpe hasn't missed a game this season despite the mammoth workload, but it's worth noting that he took on 41 minutes in Tuesday's 115-99 loss to the Utah Jazz. Skylar Mays would be extremely busy if Sharpe surprisingly sits, with Portland's next game on tap for Friday during an In-Season Tournament affair with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Thu Nov 2 202320:57Shaedon Sharpe Probable For Friday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (thumb) is listed as probable for Friday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Sharpe looked good on Wednesday, but apparently suffered a sprained right thumb in the process. It doesn't sound like something that is going to sideline Sharpe. He'll likely have a bigger role in the rotation with Scoot Henderson (ankle) already ruled out for this contest. That being said, Sharpe should have increased fantasy value, assuming he's able to play. Fantasy managers should check back on Friday for another update on his status.

Wed Oct 25 202322:26Shaedon Sharpe Not Starting On Wednesday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe is not in the starting five ahead of Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The young guard will come off the bench with Anfernee Simons drawing the start in this game. The Blazers give Sharpe high praise so expect him to be a significant part of the rotation. He'll likely be the primary option off the bench, so he should still be able to carry fantasy value off the bench.

Sat Oct 14 202320:41Shaedon Sharpe Not Starting On Saturday
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's exhibition matchup against the Utah Jazz. Fantasy managers don't need to panic as this is only because it's the preseason. The Blazers are trying different rotations to see what they like. The Blazers will let Anfernee Simons and Scoot Henderson handle the backcourt duties during this game. Sharpe will likely see some minutes off the bench.

Tue Oct 10 202321:38Shaedon Sharpe Has Team Option Picked Up
Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe will be around with the organization for at least two more seasons. As expected, the Blazers picked up Sharpe's third-year team option for the 2024-2025 season. This was a no-brainer for the Blazers as they get to keep their rising star on a cheap deal. Last season, Sharpe averaged 18.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 15 games as a starter. He's expected to have increased responsibility with Damian Lillard out of town now. Sharpe is likely to be a viable fantasy option heading into next season.

Thu Oct 5 202308:06Matisse Thybulle And Shaedon Sharpe Battling For Starter's Role
The Portland Trail Blazers have a starter's spot open at the small forward position and there are two candidates for the job. Matisse Thybulle and Shaedon Sharpe are battling out for the role, according to Aaron Fentress of The Oregonian. Fentress sees Thybulle as the "likely leader" in the race. Thybulle was a starter in all 22 games he played with the Blazers last season after being picked up in a trade in early February. He offers great balance to the unit as a good defensive presence and played well, averaging 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.7 steals. Sharpe had 15 outings as a starter and collected 18.5 points with 4.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists in the role. He had a much bigger part to play offensively and racked up his numbers with nearly 16 shot attempts per game. However, even with Damian Lillard gone, Portland still has plenty of offensive weapons to choose from, so using Thybulle with the starters appears to make the most sense.
