Wed Mar 7 201801:51Wheel see: Diamondbacks set to bring back bullpen buggy
The bullpen cart is back in the big leagues.Nearly a quarter-century since relievers stopped catching rides to the mound, the Arizona Diamondbacks said Tuesday they will use a buggy — topped by the requisite oversized team cap — to transport pitchers from both bullpens at Chase Field."I don't know how it will be getting driven in, but I think it's a cool idea and we'll have some fun with it," Diamondbacks closer candidate Archie Bradley said. With Major League Baseball looking for ways to speed up things, it's hard to tell whether this will save any time. But it's certain to be a hit with fans, especially the kids the game is trying to attract."I love it. I love it. I love," Cleveland manager Terry Francona said. "It brings a little personality. We're probably the only sport that can do something like that."The last known time a team in the majors used a motorized vehicle — some clubs had actual cars — to relay relievers was 1995, when the Milwaukee Brewers shuttled them in a motorcycle... Sun Aug 20 201704:21RHP Neftali Feliz on disabled list with right ulnar palsy
RHP Neftali Feliz went on the disabled list with right ulnar palsy. It was retroactive to Monday. "I don't know what it is," Royal manager Ned Yost said. "Ulnar nerve palsy? The best they could explain it to me was, 'when you sleep on your arm wrong, and you wake up and it's like asleep?' Well, it hasn't woken back up in two days. It is affecting his ring finger and his little finger. It's not bad. It's probably going to be a four, five-day thing, but right now we can't afford to go short. We just can't, the way things have kind of played out here in the last couple of weeks with the pitching. We're thin down there, and we just can't go short."

The move to the DL for the right-hander was retroactive to Aug. 17. The 31-year-old has made three starts for the Dodgers, posting a 2-0 record and 2.50 ERA. He was 6-9 with a 4.01 ERA in 22 starts with the Rangers this season.Los Angeles acquired Granderson and cash considerations from the New York Mets on Friday night in exchange for a player to be named or cash considerations, creating a logjam for playing time in the outfield.Pederson was an obvious candidate to be benched or demoted to the minors as he continues to battle a... RHP Neftali Feliz, who was released Monday by the Brewers, was signed by the Royals and added to their bullpen. Feliz was 1-5 with a 6.00 ERA in 23 relief appearances with Milwaukee. He went 8-for-9 in save situations, but lost the closer's job. Manager Ned Yost said initially he would use Feliz in low pressure situations since he has not pitched in nine days. He gave up a run on a homer in one inning on June 13, his final Brewers' appearance. Before that on June 11, he faced four Arizona batters and retired none, giving up two hits, including a home run, and walking two. The Royals are confident pitching coach Dave Eiland can fix Feliz mechanically. "It's not a risk, a low risk, high reward type of thing," Yost said on picking up Feliz. He said Feliz is healthy and still possesses a 97 mile per hour fastball.

He converted eight of nine save opportunities this season but lost the closer's role after struggling in non-save situations and never seemed to get on track.
