Fri Dec 23 201114:48Eric Hurley signs with Angels
Angels signed RHP Eric Hurley to a minor league contract.
Hurley hasn't pitched in the major leagues since the 2008 season, dealing with chronic hand problems and more recently a concussion. He's just 26, though, and was a pretty nice prospect at a time, so perhaps the Angels can coax some value out of him. He'll begin the year at Triple-A.

Eric Hurley has elected free agency.
Hurley hasn't pitched in the big leagues since the 2008 season and suffered a severe concussion earlier this year. He used to be a pretty nice prospect, though, and, at 26, he shouldn't have trouble finding another team willing to give him a shot.

Eric Hurley will skip a bullpen session Tuesday because of a mild right hamstring strain.

He was hoping to return by the middle of May, but it sounds like mid-June is a more reasonable projection at this point.
