Erickson signed a minor league contract with the Padres on Friday, Corey Brock of MLB.com reports.
The 26-year-old Erickson appeared in just 60 games with the Dodgers' Triple-A Albuquerque affiliate last season while serving as the backup role, but he performed when given the opportunity, slashing .297/.384/.510 with seven homers and 29 RBI. His deal is not said to include an invite to spring training, but Erickson could be a dark-horse candidate for the top reserve job if the team unloads Rene Rivera or Yasmani Grandal this winter.

Erickson batted .297/.384/.510 in 155 at-bats, spending most of the year backing up starter Tim Federowicz.
A nice improvement over last year's .208/.346/.416, as Erickson cut down on the strikeouts and showed good power. At 26, he's a longshot to carve out a significant big league role, but there's still hope here.
