Indians re-signed INF Argenis Reyes to a minor league contract.
The 29-year-old batted .313/.345/.446 over 91 plate appearances for Triple-A Columbus in 2011 after spending the beginning of the year in independent ball. He's a career .205/.246/.228 hitter across 139 plate appearances and hasn't had a whiff of the majors since 2009.

Indians signed INF Argenis Reyes to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Columbus.
Reyes, a 28-year-old middle infielder, had been playing independent ball. He hasn't appeared in a big league game since the 2009 season, when he was a member of the Mets, and probably won't climb his way to Cleveland.

Indians acquired 2B Argenis Reyes and C Juan Apodaca from the Red Sox for future cash considerations.
The Red Sox needed to clear roster space at the Triple-A level for the arrival of Jarrod Saltalamacchia. Reyes, 27, is a journeyman infielder with a .205/.246/.228 career batting line over 127 major league at-bats. Apodaca, a 24-year-old catcher, had a .655 OPS in 14 games for Pawtucket.
