De Jesus is starting in left field and batting second on Wednesday against the Pirates.
Since Marlon Byrd was moved, De Jesus has seen a big uptick in playing time. Despite seeing more starts, De Jesus is just 2-for-20 since August 29. De Jesus gets the start over Adam Duvall in left field.

De Jesus is starting in left field Sunday against the Brewers, batting sixth.
This is the fourth start of the week for De Jesus, who has seen a spike in playing time after the Marlon Byrd trade. He's hitting .255/.335/.383 over 149 at-bats.

Starting in place of Todd Frazier at third base, De Jesus went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
De Jesus has done well in a limited sample with the Reds since getting the call, hitting .287/.351/.455 in 101 at-bats so far. This is well above his career norms whenever he's been at the big league level - consider this tantamount to Kris Negron's "lightning-in-a-bottle" stretch last season.

De Jesus reached base four times in six plate appearances in Thursday's 15-5 demolition of the Pirates. He singled three times, walked once, and scored two runs.
De Jesus was one of four Reds players to rap out at least three hits on the evening, proving himself to be more than a capable fill in at third base while Todd Frazier rested. The 28-year-old has fared well in his first taste of the big leagues since 2012, batting .282/.358/.435 across 945 plate appearances, but it's not likely to result in him earning a starting role in the near future.

De Jesus is getting a spot start at third base Sunday against the Indians, with Todd Frazier getting the day off.
De Jesus picked up a few starts when the Reds were on the road in interleague play earlier, but he's been relegated back to bench duty lately. He's hitting .246/.310/.431 since his callup earlier this season.

De Jesus has been inserted into Wednesday's lineup in place of Brandon Phillips, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Phillips was scratched from the lineup Wednesday afternoon, and the reason is yet to be released. Regardless, De Jesus will get the call at second base and hit second against Pirates' starter Gerrit Cole.

De Jesus will start at second base and bat leadoff Thursday against the Cubs.
The 28-year-old will be afforded a fourth consecutive start, and his first career opportunity atop the order, with Brandon Phillips (groin) still out of action. De Jesus homered twice in the team's series against Philadelphia this week, and though he didn't hit one in 50 games with Triple-A Louisville prior to his callup, he was getting on base at a .378 clip.

De Jesus went 1-for-4 with his second home run of the season in Wednesday's win over the Phillies.
He hit a three-run shot in the first inning against Jerome Williams, after homering off Cole Hamels in Monday's series opener. He has provided versatility in the field since his recent callup -- he played right field Monday, left field Tuesday and second base Wednesday -- as well as some surprising pop. The 28-year-old didn't hit a single home run in 50 games with Triple-A Louisville to begin the season and has never hit more than eight homers in a season at any level.

De Jesus homered off Cole Hamels in his first start as a Red in Tuesday's win over Philadelphia.
De Jesus got the start over Skip Schumaker in left field and made the most of it, as he finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Schumaker's .682 OPS isn't going to keep him on the field, so De Jesus may get a chance to impress Reds brass if he can post another quality game or two.
Wed Jun 3 201517:53The Reds purchased De Jesus's contract from Triple-A Louisville
The Reds purchased De Jesus's contract from Triple-A Louisville.
De Jesus Jr. was hitting well for Louisville (.303/.378/.384) before the move, though the low slugging percentage demonstrates that he's not much of a threat at the plate beyond a few singles. He has just 12 extra-base hits and two stolen bases, with no homers. He has spent the last five-plus seasons in Triple-A.
Sat Nov 22 201412:53De Jesus signed minor league contract with Reds on Thursday
De Jesus signed a minor league contract with the Reds on Thursday.
De Jesus has bounced around between four organizations over the past three seasons (Dodgers, Red Sox, Pirates and Orioles), and will now join the Reds for the 2015 campaign. The former second-round pick has shown an ability to hit for average (.300) and get on a base at a good clip (.360) at Triple-A, making him a serviceable organizational depth option, but he's unlikely to see significant run with the major league club next season.
Wed Mar 12 201416:44Orioles reassign DeJesus, Rodriguez to minors
Orioles reassigned INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. and LHP Eduardo Rodriguez to minor league camp.
Neither player had a legitimate shot at claiming an Opening Day roster spot. DeJesus and Rodriguez will serve as organizational depth this season for the Orioles.

Orioles signed INF Ivan DeJesus, Jr. to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
DeJesus has appeared in 48 games in the majors between the Dodgers and Red Sox and spent this past season with the Pirates' Triple-A affiliate, where he hit .319/.380/.457 over 103 games. The 26-year-old could surface on Baltimore's bench at some point.

Wed Dec 26 201213:25Pirates acquire INF DeJesus from Red Sox
Pirates acquired INF Ivan DeJesus, Jr. from the Red Sox in the Joel Hanrahan deal.
DeJesus owns a .298 batting average and .370 on-base percentage in the minors, but he has scuffled in sporadic opportunities in the majors. Without much in the way of pop or speed, the 25-year-old likely fits best as a utility player in the long-term.

Red Sox acquired INF Ivan DeJesus Jr., RHP Allan Webster, 1B James Loney and two players to be named later from the Dodgers for 1B Adrian Gonzalez, RHP Josh Beckett, OF Carl Crawford, INF Nick Punto and cash considerations.
DeJesus has posted a pedestrian .295/.333/.415 batting line with three home runs and 33 RBI in 60 games this season at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old from Puerto Rico can play all around the field but is doubtful to ever become an offensive threat in the major leagues.

Thu Jun 28 201218:41Dodgers option INF DeJesus to Triple-A
Dodgers optioned INF Ivan DeJesus Jr. to Triple-A Albuquerque.
He was sent down in order to make room for Scott Van Slyke on the active roster. DeJesus Jr. is hitting .273 (9-for-33) in 23 games with the Dodgers this season and should return to the major league level later this summer.

Wed May 23 201201:30Ivan De Jesus delivers go-ahead hit
Ivan De Jesus Jr. hit a two-run double in the top of the ninth to lead the Dodgers to an 8-7 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
De Jesus didn't start, but he had a game-tying sac fly as a pinch-hitter in the seventh and then the go-ahead double in the ninth. One would hope it might earn him a start in Wednesday's game. De Jesus doesn't have much of a bat, but he is a fine defender, especially at second base. Odds are he'll get a start and Adam Kennedy will sit against the left-hander in the series finale.
