Red Sox purchased the contract of OF Jason Repko from Triple-A Pawtucket.
Repko will replace Che-Hsuan Lin and is expected to start in center field Sunday. The veteran offers very little in the way of upside, but should provide insurance behind Cody Ross, Darnell McDonald and Ryan Sweeney.

The Red Sox are expected to purchase the contract of Jason Repko from Triple-A Pawtucket on Sunday.
Repko has apparently overcome a minor injury that he had been dealing with and will replace Che-Hsuan Lin as the Red Sox's primary backup outfielder. But ven if Repko does manage to find some at-bats, he can continue to be ignored for fantasy purposes.

A CT scan of Jason Repko's revealed no significant problems.
Repko left Sunday's game in the sixth inning after being beaned in the head by a Justin Masterson fastball. He has a headache, but no concussion. Repko will probably get a few days off, but he wasn't playable in AL-only leagues anyway.

He's taking the spot of the recently departed Jim Thome. Repko has been on the DL since mid-August with left shoulder bursitis but is good to go after picking up four hits -- including a home run -- in 14 rehab at-bats with Triple-A Rochester. He'll provide outfield depth.

The move was made to clear room on the 25-man roster for Justin Morneau, who came off the disabled list on Friday morning. Hitting just .245/.287/.265 this season, Repko will likely rejoin the Twins some time in September.
