Oramas, who was released by the Blue Jays on Tuesday, plans to play professionally in Mexico, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reports.

If he fares well in the Mexican League, Oramas could take another crack at MLB next season. He reached the Triple-A level for the first time in 2014, posting a 5.61 ERA, 5.08 FIP, 7.6 K/9 and 3.7 BB/9.

Oramas will begin the season at Triple-A Buffalo after being optioned by the Blue Jays during spring training.
Oramas has never pitched above Triple-A, where he started 21 games for the El Paso Chihuahuas in the Padres organization last season. Oramas pitched 1.1 innings for Blue Jays in spring training, conceding a hit and two walks while striking out two. With a logjam of relievers as-is, Oramas will likely have to bide his time in Triple-A for the foreseeable future as the Jays' pitching staff is filled with rising stars and the 24-year-old Oramas needs to show a consistent ability to get batters out at the Triple-A level before getting called up.

The Padres designated Oramas for assignment Tuesday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
