Thu Mar 19 201511:19Jimenez sent down to minor league camp
Jimenez was sent down to minor league camp, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.
With a backlog at catcher to begin with as the Blue Jays currently have Russell Martin, Dioneer Navarro and Josh Thole, Jimenez was always looking like the odd man out. In seven plate appearances this spring, he didn't record a hit. He hit for a reasonable .249/.289/.351 across Double-A and Triple-A last season, but barring an injury or two, he still has a crowded path to the majors in front of him.
Mon May 12 201411:09Jimenez collects four hits
Blue Jays prospect C A.J. Jimenez went 4-for-5 with three doubles and an RBI on Sunday for Double-A New Hampshire.
With the four-hit performance, the 24-year-old is now batting .316/.365/.491 with eight extra-base hits (one home run) through 16 games. Jimenez was limited to only 67 games last season following his recover from Tommy John surgery in 2012, but he didn't skip a beat at the plate by posting a respectable .738 OPS across three different levels. He's known more for his glove than bat, and his spot on Toronto's 40-man roster means he'll likely see time in the major leagues later this season.

Wed Feb 19 201421:41Jimenez 100 percent healthy to start spring
Blue Jays catching prospect A.J. Jimenez says he's 100 percent healthy to start spring training.
Jimenez underwent Tommy John surgery in 2012 and was limited to 67 games due to shoulder issues last year, but he spent the offseason building arm strength and says he's healthy for the first time to start a spring training. In December, Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said the 23-year-old could see time in the majors in 2014. The backstop hit .287/.332/.406 across three levels when healthy last season.

Tue Dec 3 201312:27Jimenez could see time in majors in 2014
Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Tuesday that prospect catcher A.J. Jimenez could see playing time in the majors in 2014.
The Blue Jays already consider Jimenez ready from a defensive perspective, but the 23-year-old could use some more time in the minors after being limited to 67 games in the minors this year because of his elbow. Josh Thole will likely serve as Dioner Navarro's backup until he's ready.

Thu Aug 29 201317:24Jimenez dealing with elbow nerve irritation
Blue Jays prospect catcher A.J. Jimenez is currently sidelined with nerve irritation in his throwing elbow.
Jimenez, who had Tommy John surgery last year, is batting .287/.332/.406 with four home runs and 38 RBI over 67 games in the minor league this year. He was a candidate for a September call-up since he's on the 40-man roster, but that's uncertain now.
