NEW YORK (AP) — The swooning New York Mets took two more hits to their already bang-up pitching staff when closer Jeurys Familia was put on the disabled list Friday because of a sore right shoulder and ace Noah Syndergaard was scratched from a weekend start against the Yankees because of a strained ligament in his right index finger.New York had lost six straight entering the Subway Series, tying its season high, and 11 of 13. The Mets are 16-33 following an 11-1 start and had dropped eight consecutive home games."It can't be an excuse. You don't want to write the season off because you're having injuries," manager Mickey Callaway said. The move was retroactive to Thursday.Familia is 2-3 with 14 saves and a 2.48 ERA.Right-hander Jacob Rhame was recalled from Las Vegas of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets have activated third baseman Todd Frazier and reliever Anthony Swarzak from the disabled list.The Mets made the moves before playing Baltimore on Tuesday night. Frazier was in the starting lineup, batting fourth.Frazier was hitting .237 with five home runs and 21 RBIs. He had been on the disabled list since May 8 with a strained left hamstring.Swarzak was 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in two games for the Mets. The righty had been on the DL since April 1 with a strained left oblique.The Mets also optioned right-hander Gerson Bautista to Triple-A Las Vegas and designated lefty Buddy Baumann for assignment.Bautista was 0-1 with a 12.46 ERA in five games. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The New York Mets will be without outfielder Jay Bruce for their weekend series in Philadelphia.Bruce was placed on the paternity leave list Friday with his wife due to give birth to the couple's second child. To make room on the 40-man roster, David Wright was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.Rhame was available for Friday night's series opener against the Padres.
