Carpenter was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday, MLB.com reports.

Carpenter only made four appearances for the Braves before he was unceremoniously dumped from the 40-man roster. He'll head back to Gwinnett, where he's produced a sparkling 0.71 ERA across 38 innings.

Carpenter was designated for assignment Tuesday.

With Mike Foltynewicz coming up from Triple-A to start Wednesday's game, the Braves needed to clear a roster spot. Carpenter will be subject to waivers and will likely wind up at Triple-A Gwinnett, where he holds a 0.71 ERA across 38 innings this season.

With Manny Banuelos (elbow) hitting the DL, Carpenter will return to the Braves, for whom he's made four appearances on the season. In 3.2 total innings, Carpenter has allowed three earned runs on six hits.
