Greg Miclat recently left the Panama Winter League due to a strained ribcage muscle.
Miclat, acquired from the Orioles in the Taylor Teagarden trade, had a .280/.371/.347 batting line to go along with two home runs, 24 RBI, 50 stolen bases and a .718 OPS over 495 plate appearances with Double-A Bowie this past season. The 24-year-old infielder is expected to compete for a utility infielder job during spring training and got good news in that department Sunday when Andres Blanco signed with Washington. Miclat will be healthy when pitchers and catchers report.

Rangers acquired INF Greg Miclat from the Orioles to complete the Taylor Teagarden trade.
Miclat was originally listed as a player to be named later. The 24-year-old infielder had a .280/.371/.347 batting line to go along with two home runs, 24 RBI, 50 stolen bases and a .718 OPS over 495 plate appearances with Double-A Bowie this past season. He could compete for a utility infielder job during spring training. The Rangers also received right-handed reliever Randy Henry in the deal.
