NEW YORK (AP) — Aaron Judge returned to the Yankees for the first time since his right wrist was broken seven weeks ago, taking over in right field for the final two innings of New York's 11-0 romp over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.Judge had not played since July 26, when he was hit by a pitch from Kansas City's Jakob Junis. RHP Ryan Cook, on the 60-day disabled list all season due to a strained right latissimus dorsi muscle, began a rehab assignment Sunday in the rookie-level Arizona League. He threw one scoreless, hitless inning.

RHP Ryan Cook was placed on the Mariners' 60-day disabled list because of a strained right latissimus dorsi muscle. The move made room for newly acquired C Rob Brantly on the Mariners' 40-man rosterCook, 28, appeared in one game this spring, pitching a shutout inning against San Diego on March 2 before being injured. In his first four major league seasons, Cook posted a 2.77 ERA in 208 relief appearances, but he had an 18.69 ERA in nine relief appearances for Oakland and Boston last season.

RHP Ryan Cook signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the Mariners on Thursday.Cook, 28, has made 208 relief appearances in four major league seasons. His best year came in 2012, when he posted a 6-2 record with a 2.09 ERA in 71 outings and was named to the American League All-Star team.Last year, Cook pitched a combined nine games for the Athletics and the Red Sox and gave up 18 earned runs for a 18.69 ERA. With Triple-A Nashville and Pawtucket, Cook logged a 4-1 record with a 3.16 ERA in 37 appearances.

RHP Ryan Cook was claimed off waivers by the Cubs from the Red Sox on Nov. 6. Cook, 28, went a combined 0-2 with an 18.69 ERA in nine relief appearances for Oakland and Boston this year. He was 4-1 with nine saves and a 3.16 ERA in 37 Triple-A appearances.

Cook will be added to Boston's roster from Triple-A Pawtucket before Tuesday's game, MLB.com reports.

Cook struggled in the majors this season with 14 ER and 17 hits allowed in 6.1 innings. He was better at Triple-A with a 3.16 ERA and 36:16 K:BB ratio in 42.2 innings. He'll add depth in the bullpen as he tries to rebuild his major league career.

Cook was optioned down to Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Cook was lit up in Saturday's 22-10 victory, conceding five earned runs in 0.2 innings. In seven appearances this season, Cook now holds a 19.89 ERA with a 3.32 WHIP. He and Garin Cecchini were sent down to make room for Heath Hembree and Matt Barnes.

Cook allowed four runs on four hits while striking out one in a third of an inning in Wednesday's loss to the Marlins.

In two appearances since being called up, Cook has allowed two inherited runners to score while giving up five hits and four runs in 1.1 innings. Needless to say, he's not in the mix to pick up save opportunities with Koji Uehara (wrist) done for the season.

Cook made his Boston debut Tuesday night, allowing two inherited runners to score in a loss to the Marlins.

Cook came on in the sixth inning and allowed one hit while striking out one in one inning.

Cook was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday.

Cook will take the roster spot of Koji Uehara, who suffered a right wrist fracture and will miss the rest of the season. Cook, who came over from Oakland at the deadline, has appeared in only four major league games this season. He holds a 10.38 ERA, allowing five earned runs and seven hits across 4.1 innings.

Cook was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday.

The Red Sox added Cook on Sunday for some bullpen insurance, but he was sent down a day later to clear room for Tuesday's starter, Henry Owens. Cook was traded from the A's to the Red Sox prior to Friday's non-waiver deadline, and figures to be up again no later than September 1 assuming he's not DFA'd before then.

Cook was added to the active roster Sunday, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports.

Cook will take the roster spot of Rick Porcello, who was placed on the 15-day DL Sunday due to triceps soreness. The reliever was shipped to Boston in a deadline deal, and is expected to serve in middle relief the rest of the way out.
